So there is. I wonder where s/he lives. checks Austin. Ah, yes, it all makes sense now. Hippy Hollow NC wants to be Austin. Or Portlandia.
All this talk of sharks reminds me of the shark that lived in the small fishtank of the Landis Library when I was but a wee Spazkitten. I thought that shark was so cool. He just swam around with a little catfish for company. This is also the library that had a train engine in the children’s section filled with stuffed Where The Wild Things Are. That was such the coolest library. I wonder if they moved the engine to the new South Rowan library? I hope so. I mean, train engine! Wild things!
Our childrens library had gerbils. Mind you, the adult one had pigeons living in it, though possibly they weren’t supposed to be there…
Mick is better, Bubba is a little worse. I’ve given him some more medicine and right now he’s in laying on my bed. I’m guessing it feels good to him because the electric blanket is on and quite warm.
BLURF!
Good Evenin’ Y’all! Home from Evening Prayer over to the church house. 'Twas great as usual. We sang three of my all time fav-o-rite hymns, Oh! For A Thousand Tongues To Sing, Immortal, Invisible God Only Wise, and Be Thou My vision. I was slackolyte and didn’t burn the Altar down, so win-win!
Someone who works at my local library looks kinda like a gerbil. What? I didn’t want to be left out!
And on that note I shall bid you all adieu.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
I once played a beautiful concert band piece based on “Be Thou My Vision.”
Wait a minute, pigeons living inside a gerbil?
Which do you define as “real”? Alton Brown says there are two versions: flat noodle-like ones and fluffy biscuit-like ones.
The pipes thawed and we can brush our teeth again. I’m just glad that PEX has some flex and stretch so it can survive freezing and not burst.
As for SIL’s computers, I’d much rather get her on a Mac, but 99% of her work is done in Microsoft Remote Desktop, and the current RDC client for Mavericks is buggy and a worse fate than being forced to use Windows in the first place.
A newish term for malware is PUP or potentially unwanted programs. In the past few years, I’ve scraped enough PUPs off her computers to fill several kennels. Unlike the ASPCA, I’m not running a no-kill shelter.
Hey, y’all, [del]watch this![/del] I’m home!
I’ve had Britas for 15 years. They rock.
: wraps Midget in bubblewrap : Nifty music piece.
I used to have gerbils. I miss them. Although I never had one filled with pigeons.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 33 Amurrkin out and foggy with a predicted high of 60 for the day. Sunday will be low 70s and rain. Go figure.
gotti yay for thawed out pipes and clean teeth!
Nettie I made both cause I like both. The flat noodle-like ones are good for slurpin’ and I like bitin’ into the kinda doughy bizkit-like ones. Chikin 'n dumplins… the comfort food that’s fun to eat! Sometimes I buy the flat ones but yestiddy I made for real ones. Go Me!
I suppose I should make some effort toward purtification for irk. I will. Really. I promise. First, however, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Blurf. Didn’t sleep well. Sleeping with bruised ribs is neither easy nor fun. I haven’t been sleeping too badly these past few days, but last night was bad for some reason.
Gotta go to school soon.
Happy Firday!
It’s a nippy 24 degrees outside with a projected high of** 43!**
Bring out the shorts and t-shirts, we’re having a heat wave!
I’ll be leaving shortly for my blood test. One more thing to cross off the list.
Then I have to go pick up some money. Only $20, so I can’t even buy lunch for the mumpers, not even off the dollar menu.
Good morning, all. Sorry to hear about the ribs still being sore, Midget. If I remember correctly from the one time I had the same (a bizarre golf cart incident in 1995) they take quite awhile to get better. Hang in there.
Had a lovely morning of giving our oldest cat antibiotics (liquid) this morning. 1 cc takes up such a small volume in the syringe (without needle), but covers a surprising area of sweater when it comes back out of the cat immediately.
Holy carp, its been one hell of a week. Thank Og its almost over
Yays, hugs, boos, and feel betters to those who need them.
Blurfy Firday.
Maybe you’ve never seen adult gerbils. Those things are massive!
It’s a horrid wet day, and I have lungs full of ick. And maybe pigeons.
It snowed 10 inches here. And we. are. still. closed. WTF? Wednesday I got. Thursday, sort of. Today, not so much. The neighborhood roads aren’t plowed, and wont be, but still, they are not that bad! The highways are dry!. I only have so much work I can do from home and I am pretty much out and will have to burn pto. Grr.
Much more leisurely startup today than most weekdays, since DH isn’t in class and I can take the car today. 30 minutes drive time is a major improvement over the 1 1/2 - 2 hour public transit trip, especially since my car is cleaner, more comfortable, less noisy/rowdy, and more dependable about getting there when I need to be there. It’ll also be very nice to get home before 4pm today, when I’m lucky to get home by 5pm on transit days. Must remember to return some library books, and pay my overdue fine.
