I used to watch a cat that required liquid meds.
I had to apologize to the client for not cleaning the meds off her ceiling. :o She told me no need to apologize, there were lots of spots on her ceiling.
Home from my blood test. I never knew the middle elevator in the building has a BIG window to the outside. Not a good choice for me, especially on an empty. I made sure not to use that elevator after I gave blood, I was queasy enough.
I got my money, and some food.
I just want to know who’s going to fix our weather. On Monday afternoon, I had the window open for a while. Then we had snow on Tuesday, frozen pipes on Thursday, and this weekend, a forecast high of 64. The ground is going to snap from the thermal stress.
TANK DISASTER! My brand new 10 gal leaked all over my floor Yesterday!!!
I was so upset! My brand new 10 gal tank that I got from a friend who hadn't used it in forever was set up yesterday. I had cleaned it, checked it for leaks, and was prepping it for a betta.
It was great, I had the hood, light, and tank all for free.
Then disaster struck!
Yesterday morning after I got back home from dropping off the kids, I saw a puddle of water oozing from the house. I thought OH NO!! The pipes burst.
I walked in the house, and blam! It struck me, my 10 gal was 3/4 of the way empty and the tile and laminate flooring was soaked. I immediately moved the whole thing outside and started mopping up the water with a towel.
I also had to move some supplies and equipment that was sitting on the floor and that had gotten soaked.
My kids' uniforms for karate were in a bag on the floor by the couch and it got soaked as well. Thank goodness it was there because it kept the water from going any further under the couch. I threw those in the wash then ran to Petco. I got to Petco and realized I hadn't brought my wallet. So back home I go, wasting 15 minutes round trip.
I finally get to Petco, and they are all out of the 10 gal, because of the sale. So I grabbed the last 15gal they had, a heater, a pump, and a bubble wand. Back home, I transferred all the rocks, plants, and wood to my new 15 gal. I filled it, then set up the heater, pump and bubble wand. This all took about 1.5 hours. I was soaking wet, cold, and frustrated. I was also upset that I ended up spending $150 to fix this disaster. But I am very happy with how my 15 gal looks. Whatever betta I end up getting for this tank is going to be one happy little fishy
Snowpocalypse this weekend. Depending on location, 6-10 inches <snerk>That’s what she said<snerk>. So I’m stuck in tomorrow. I have dinner plans tomorrow night so those roads best be clear. I iz looking forward to pizza at Nick’s where there are basket sof peanuts on the tables and you throw the shells on the floor.
WetOne I see you like those classy restaurants just like we do.
Howdy from da cave! The weekend has begun! Tonight is steak, sallit, garlic smashed N.O.T. and cheesey bread. YUM! N.O.T. are cookin’ as I post. Then I shall begin preparations for the Sunday bday feast for MOG. Life is a whirlwind of excitatement 'round these parts.
I threw the 10 in the trash in frustration, so now it is toast. Broken, pointy toast,
I use API tap de-chlorinator, Amquel Plus, and API Stress Coat. Not all at the same time, but I switch these up when I do water changes. I have been using Amquel lately because my tank seems to be cycling again, which is just weird. Anyone who knows about the Nitrogen Cycle in fish keeping knows what I am talking about. The Ammonia was going down, the Nitrites went up, then as the Nitrites went down, the Ammonia went back up.
I’ve been water changing like crazy, but I have a feeling I may have been changing too much, so I am backing off and not changing for a few days and seeing if my Ammonia goes back down. Fortunately my pH is low so it is likely Ammonium, which is not toxic to fish and the Amquel also detoxifies the Ammonia.
Swampy everything irkwise will get resolved, I just have a hard time with 20yos who have “figured it all out” and need to show the “old man” how to do it right. He walked out in a huff after I informed him the “I have been doing this since you were a toddler” and then I dressed him down in front of the"Boss" for walking out and forgetting who is actually the lead. That convo started with “Sit down, I will be speaking and your input is not required, nor desired”. The “Boss” was not amused, he thought I should have gone easier on him.
We have chowed and now we be chillin’. I should be doin’ prep work for the big eats on Sunday but I don’t feel like it so I’ll deal with it tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day!
If you have just the beta in fifteen gallons, you will do ok. That is a lot of water that can withstand a lot of mistakes with one air breathing fish.
I’m surprised that you have any readings at all with water changes. Sometimes city water supplies have ammonia in them already.
We’ll, I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I got a job. I’ll be a long term sub for the rest of the year and if things work out I will be offered a contract next year. It’s 30 min or less from home and in one of my favorite cities (translation: think Lincoln ) so I’m pretty excited about that.
The bad news is that Bubba had to go to the vet and is spending the night there. Hopefully he will be released in the morning.
I finished and submitted my drawing package from just outside the gates of Hades. And shortly after I did, I realized there was a goof on the first page - nothing critical - just something missing on the pictorial, and I’ll fix it when the drawing comes back for corrections. Anyway, it was a good day at the office, even if I did have to drive the truck. **FCD **took the car so’s he could rinse the accumulated salt off - it’s blue again!!!
We went to Texas Roadhouse for supper because my sweetie was craving a steak. I got the beef tips and half of them were inedible due to gristle. ick. I’ll never order that again. Now we’re home chilling. Tomorrow we’re going to Arundel Mills Mall so I can look at luggage. Woohoo!!
