StickyBuns yay for the job! Fantastic news! Poor Bubbaschnoodle! I’ll say a prayer for him to get better.

I use API tap de-chlorinator, Amquel Plus, and API Stress Coat. Not all at the same time, but I switch these up when I do water changes. I have been using Amquel lately because my tank seems to be cycling again, which is just weird. Anyone who knows about the Nitrogen Cycle in fish keeping knows what I am talking about. The Ammonia was going down, the Nitrites went up, then as the Nitrites went down, the Ammonia went back up.
I’ve been water changing like crazy, but I have a feeling I may have been changing too much, so I am backing off and not changing for a few days and seeing if my Ammonia goes back down. Fortunately my pH is low so it is likely Ammonium, which is not toxic to fish and the Amquel also detoxifies the Ammonia.

Why all the water changing?
My one Betta in six gallons has been happy with a third to half change once a month. It was a glorious day when the biology finally started working. For a good while, we were cursed with green water. (Hey fish, where are you? Still in there?) Yanking the plastic plants and replacing them with real plants sucked up all that nitrogen in a jiffy and the algae went away.
As for the potions, we use API’s Stress Zyme and a Betta-specific dechlorinator. IIRC, it adds whatever particular minerals they like, and being scaled for small bowls, it’s easy to measure out 6 ml for six gallons, rather than 6/10 of one ml, or some similarly challenging amount.
I couldn’t find my car in the parking lot; trouble is I was looking for a car the color that I purchased, not the color it is now [del]off-white[/del] salt-spray.
Which got me thinking, You can’t tell what color my car is & you can’t see the license plate because of all the dried salt. It’s been so cold that no one thinks anyone walking around in a ski mask is anything other than trying to keep warm, so…
robbery spree! :o
**Spidey **- you know you won’t do that - you’re not evil!
The hell he’s not.
Remember Rasputin’s cult? To be a good religious person, you must repent. To repent, you must have sinned. So, let’s go sin!
Cool!
My best wishes for the new job, and your dog.
I am wondering about that, too.
because I got a bit obsessive, so I am making myself leave the tank alone until Monday. And I only fed the fishies once today. I am pretty sure because I have been letting the kids feed them morning and night they were over fed a bit.
Snow’s almost gone, missed the hockey game, off this weekend.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 43 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 64 for the day. It’s also drizzly out. ICK!
Before I went to bed last night I mixed up the dressin’, prepped the turkey, and steamed squish and made up the squish casserole. Go Me! I got a burst of energy and had at it. Only took a little over an hour to do it all. Anywho, pretty much everything is already to be cooked. Plus, I have a chawklit sheet cake in the oven. I’m surprised OYKW is still snoozin’ with the smell of that waftin’ through da cave.
We are goin’ to venture into town this mornin’. He wants to go to Office Despot and  Wally*World  so we shall.
Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. I shall also rouse OYKW from his slumber so he can get fed and we can purtify and take off for town.
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
ETA: doggio yay for the weekend off!
Happy Caturday Mumpers,

Sit on your hands if you must, and try to leave it alone for a week or more. If you keep changing the water, it will never get a chance to cycle properly.
Even if you have a good bacterial culture on the rockwork you moved from the ten.
There is just the beta?
Happy Saturday!
I hate when posts go poof before I can hit send
or they time out
It’s a clear cool 26 degrees with a projected high of 47.
Most of the snow is gone, except for what is shielded from the sun by the house.
It’s just me and the son here now. My mother and her bf left to Florida yesterday and the HFH is out. Unfortunately she will be back sometime but for now I can run nekkid if I want. No there won’t be pics, if I make y’all go blind who will I have left to talk to?
I’m having a nice breakfast of ham, peas and rice. Kind of an annoyance there as we have no butter. I can’t have peas without butter. Every time I buy butter my mother yells at me because she says we have lots of butter, but every time I want butter we don’t have any. So I used some kind of butter substitute and it’s kind of yukky. I don’t use butter all that often but when I want butter I want the real thing dammit!
I know a lot of y’all are into your fish, but I kind of agree with Swampy that they making better eating than pets. I feel the same way about chickens, I used to pet sit chickens and they plucked my last nerve. Every time I saw them I thought they belonged on a plate with barbeque sauce. The HFH got a betta and the bowl sits right in the middle of the dining room table. I hate looking at it while I’m eating, especially when the bowl is dirty. Kind of grosses me out.
Oh Realtor just texted to go see houses
See y’all
Up and caffeinated. I’m getting the truck desalinated when it warms up a bit.
: emails Sari a stick of butter : Because it’s no fun being nekkid without butter.;)

Feeling rotten today, did not sleep a wink last night, and had to get up reasonably early to go pick up my wages. This week’s wages should have been pathetic, but were actually dire, because due to some mix up, I didn’t get paid for one shift.
Dragged myself back to bed for an hour when I got back from collecting my pittance, then felt a little better so went food shopping, as the cupboards were bare. Still feel cruddy, but now I have ice cream at least.
Supposedly I shall get the missing money tomorrow, when I should be working- s’posed to be doing rugby, but the weather’s still really soggy so the pitch may still be too wet (we’re having the wettest winter on record, I believe). Hopefully I shall feel up to it if it is on, because I can’t afford to turn down the best shift I’ve had in weeks.
Good morning, Mumpers! Happy Saturday.
Am hoping the practically tropical temperatures will help me finish getting rid of the cough. It’s 37 degrees (Murrkin) and supposed to get up to 44! Bronchitis coughs are no fun.
Sorry you’re not feeling well, Nuts. Hope you’re better soon.
We’re celebrating Christmas today - we never did a present opening - so I need to figure out what to get both nephew and brother. Technically we’ve all gotten presents, but I know nephew missed opening stuff.
So, I guess I should go run a couple of errands.
Off to do stuff.
Hugs all.

My conductor was late for rehearsal last night because his wallet was stolen. He was pretty upset about it. Poor guy
Rehearsal became more amusing, however, when the conductor played something on the piano, and hit a note too hard, and a string came flying out of the piano! None of us had even known that such a thing was possible!
