It's Monday Somewhere: a very early MMP

Someday I want to write a piece of music called “Snowplow Ballet.”

The sauce: 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce, 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar, syrup from a large jar of canned pineapple, 2 tablespoons cornstarch, dissolved in hot water.

That is the essential recipe.

I stir fried mushrooms, water chestnuts, garlic, ginger root, snow peas, pineapple pieces and onion. Deep fried chicken pieces with tempura breading.

Pour sauce over chicken and stir fry.
Serve with rice.

Well things went FUBAR after 8:30 Roads are bad, 3" on the ground. Stay safe, y’all.

Midget, can’t write music, how about a snowplow haiku:
Snowplow clears the road
Brine keeps ice away, but the
Zamboni makes rink

Flytrap, I might that.

Howdy Mumpers

I am a posting from the Big D. Left the ice starting at home, turned left onto I-45 North and saw clear sky on the horizon. Ran about 78mph/125kph(75 speed limit) the most of the way, loaded in two corporates, made clients happy, had dinner at cafe brazil(nom) and am at the hotel.

There is beer.

I have an easy day tomorrow and I likely get to have lunch with my Mom.

Keep warm

The suitable warning for releasing a SBD is, “Sorry Sean”

Jim

We got a couple of inches of snow at our house - enough to cover the path we’d cleared so the dog would go farther out in the yard to pee. When I let her out this morning, she turned left instead of right and went into the little garden bed next to the house - immediately under the eaves she could pee sans snow.

I’m going into work after it gets light out. In fact, I think I’ll go to the gym first, then to the office. I can do 30 minutes on the treadmill without breaking too much of a sweat, since I rarely crank it up over 3.5MPH.

In theory, it’ll hit 50 on Saturday. Weird weather.

Happy Wednesday!!

I need to go start my car so I can slide into irk. Oh boy.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 27 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 35 for the day. Also we have a light dustin’ of  SNOW  and a little bit of ice. I walked down the driveway to get the paper and there was a little crunch, crunch as I walked but not bad. I imagine some of the bridges are icy so glad I’m at da cave. No ice on power lines or trees, so yay for that. So we shall enjoy a day of lazin’ in da cave.

Spaz even though you might be gone by now be safe goin’ in to irk.

flytrap that sounds good. Like doggio said, might need to give that a try. It’ll be a good addition to the Mumper recipe blog.

Jim glad the trip was good. Yay for gettin’ to have N.O.L. with your mom!

Never thought about The State of The Union last night. We had hawt chawklit spiced with a little rum whilst watchin’ for the umpteenth time Oh Brother Where Art Thou and then went to bed. OYKW is still abed and I’m bettin’ will be for a while. In a while I think I shall for real make French Toast just for the heck of it. Plus bacon. Must have bacon. Bacon fried while fully clothed thankyewverymuch.

I need more caffiene definitely. Might even go walk around outside just to look at the almost snow covered yahd.

Happy Hump Day Y’all! Just. Does. Not. Get. Old.

We have about 4 inches of light, fluffy snow on the porch rail at the lair. If snow could be characterized as an animal, this one would be a kitteh.

Off to see a cardiologist today for his endorsement that I can handle anesthesia.

Good one, dogbutler.

also, blurf.

Blurf.

Today we are promised student protests, thus we are locking the building up shortly and barricading ourselves inside until the little beggars get fed up and go somewhere warm with coffed and food and stuff.

Tonight is pub night so I will have to make my escape at a reasonable time otherwise I will be missing out on beerverages and that cannot be allowed to happen.

BooFae unleash the pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan spiders upon those rowdy students!

I’m hongry. Somebody is still abed. The smell of bacon and French Toast should remedy that.

Allegedly, we’ll have rain showers by this afternoon. Since I normally think weather prediction involves the use of dartboards, I’ll believe it when I see it (DH did run the car through a wash yesterday). Probably should locate an umbrella and stuff it into my work tote bag, since the prospect of waiting at uncovered bus stops in rain without one does not appeal.

Would be so nice if I could get some decent-quality sleep sometime this week.

Remember, he who smelt it dealt it.

We are excited in northern Illinois. The temperature is supposed to be in the positive integers !!!1!!! It was only minus 2 when I left for irk this morning. Oh, and tomorrow? Snow.

I was so depressed about my horse no longer being here that last night I made a cake from Jiffy cake mix and et about a quarter of it. No frosting though. I decided I don’t like frosting.

Morning. I’m up and caffeinated. Took Gordie out for a little walk: Mush!. We found some recent wabbit twacks.

I crave French Toast suddenly. :dubious:

Remember how they’d defend the castle from invaders? Give 'em coffee; boiling hot coffee…poured over the edge from large vats on the roof!

Swampy, do not read this thread unless you are sitting in a hospital ER room already hooked up to machinery as it’s liable to cause you a heart attack.
Hint: they don’t buy TP

“it’s been a lot of fun to learn how to do it this way.’”

Jesus Christ.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s cold and windy with a light dusting of snow.
Sah-dog has taken to whizzing on the deck. I guess it won’t hurt anything, the snow will dilute the urine. He doesn’t mind the snow so much, it’s the steps he’s afraid of.

This weather sucks, I want to go look at houses and I don’t know from one day to the next what it’s going to be outside. Maybe Friday or Saturday when it is warmer.

I need to get moving on it, my temper is getting shorter and shorter.

Spidey there are nut cases everywhere. Yeah, they never use tp. I bet they don’t watch teevee as well. I bet they save their poop to use as fertilizer on their organic veggie gardens. They also don’t drive because they sprout wings and fly to wherever they need to go. Pretentious, pompous hippie freaks all of 'em!

Love idea of hot boilin’ coffee (oil would be even more fun!) bein’ poured on the riotin’ [del]peasants[/del] students!

Meanwhile, I have accomplished the makin’ of FT and bacon. FT is ok, but really, not a huge fan. This is why I never make it. OYKW and I decided that given the choice of waffles or FT, waffles would always win. Same with pancakes as they’d win over FT as well. Still, 'twas good for a change, I guess.

It looks all ick out. The “snow” is meltin’ and makin’ the yahd all soaky and muddy like. Oh well, the moisture seepin’ into the soil will be good for the grass later on I suppose. Or not. I don’t really care one way or another. I’m willy-nilly when it comes to soil moisture.

I done killded the MMP again!

Thought y’all might get a kick out of da cave in the snow.

I’m sorry **peedin **that Bob still weighs so heavily on you. I had only a brief time with horses, so I won’t profess knowledge but will claim some understanding. A few years ago I had to put down a horse of mine by my own hand.

Remember now is the worst of it = it’s winter; cold, dark and unforgiving. Soon it will begin to warm and I am sure with it your spirits. I don’t know what your future plans are but I will once again relate a favorite philosophy of mine:

There are over seven billion people on this Earth right now, many more before. Since the beginning of time some of them have experienced exactly what you are going through. Know that many survived and indeed thrived from the experience (in the end). So can you. Your job is to discover what those who passed along this path did before and emulate them. It will be okay.

This is the thought I often consider and regularly share with anyone who feels alone with a trouble in life. We may feel alone on an uncharted path, but we are not, and others before us (and even today) emerge from the dark hills to the bright morning of the high plains eventually.

Of this I am sure.
