It's Monday Somewhere: a very early MMP

That’s what maid services are for. Come on. It’s got a turret!

But it has a turret!

it’s a turret!

Turrets are why I love this house that’s next to the Staten Island Expressway

I take it you like turrets?

It is cute. I love all the wood. I think the kitchen is ugly though. Oh well, it’s more than I can afford so I can look and drool but I’m not going to buy.

it looks like a castle and the garage door looks like a drawbridge

That’s positively modern by English standards- one of my school friends lived in a house over 500 years old; that was an old house

I did very little today. Gordie did get a couple of walks. I’m going with a mexican them with meals today.

swampy, that’s a decidedly un fabulous exterior. :dubious:

rosie, if I had that house, I would stand in the turret and taunt the neighbors in a bad fake French accent.

Will you also send blueprints while your at it (in case you just happen to be inside when we launch) kthnxby.

That’s a turret; Sari’s house has a tower not a turret as you can’t stand on the top & pour boiling [del]coffee[/del] oil over the edge onto [del]invaders[/del] visitors.

Speaking of which, how’d you make out BooFae?

Hee. I have to cancel Friday’s job. I got an interview and it’s actually somewhere that’s only about 25 minutes away from home. What a concept!!

Yeah, Nuts, I know it wasn’t really that old but I always have loved really old houses.

I am done cleaning for the day. Ick.

That is OLD!

This evening is going slow, very slow.
This is when I get into things. So far on FB I found my best friend from high school. I’m not sending a friend request though. I found an ex-bf and I’d love to talk to him again but I’m not sending a friend request to him either.
Pain the butt to find either of them because there are hundreds of people out there with their name.
There’s only one of me in the whole US, which is kind of a surprise actually. I’d love a have a last name like Smith or Jones. I like to be anonymous.

I afraid to go upstairs again.

I just put the unused suitcase full of clothes away. I packed the suitcase full of layered clothing as I was planning on going to the Bronx tonight to watch the refipire/umparee* call out “Play Puck” to start the hockey game but had to cxl at the last minute. :frowning:

Anyway at 14°, the air is quite dry, which means anytime I go near a light switch: zzztt!!!
Ooowwww, stoopit static 'lectricity. Hence I’m 'fraid to go upstairs as it’s a few light switches that are out to get me.

  • Baseball has umpires & hockey has refs; what do you call the ‘zebras’ for a hockey game played in a baseball stadium?

Made some cookies today for work tomorrow. I was worried they wouldn’t turn out because I accidentally added one of the ingredients in the wrong order. But I sampled a whole lot of the dough and it seems to be okay. And then I baked them and I tried a cookie and it was great! (Not that I’m bragging. )

I have a vision of Quasimodo dancing behind the battlements, “Molten lead, molten lead!”

Wimp.

Many years ago, Mrs. Plant (v.1.0) and I were passed in the Rambler on a snowy road by one of you people.
He did indeed mock us as he sped by, and we laughed like hell when he followed the smooth snow, in four wheel drive, straight past the curve and into a six foot drop.
We continued on our careful way to work in the two wheel drive, 1969 Rambler American.

This is why Gordie is refering to himself as “Thor, Dog of Thunder”

“REF YOU SUCK!” is appropriate in any situation.

I love that house and it has the bonus of being in Hagerstown. We have played the Western Maryland Blues Fest the past two years in a row and expect to again. You would have enough rooms to put up the band. ;)

Spidey, I am thinking that a co-ordinated assault is in order here

First. We send by freight a large box of Pointy Stick Wielding Sri Lankan Spiders to force him from the Casa

Second. Using the Balloon you can drive, we do an Air Prop of cats(pussies)(with parachutes, no kittehs shall be harmed) all over his yard and general area, to keep him confused.

Third. This will cause Swampy to seek cover in the Cement Pond, where he will meet this.

Victory shall be ours! Mebbe we can work in some Jellyfish as well, you know so everyone can participate. I will even get a smaller SHARK if others have suggestions or donations for the enterprise. Victory shall be ours!

Yes Mumpers I have changed delivery methods. I will not spill the beans yet but I am in the market for a large cement mixer truck.

I am home safe and sound from the Big D. Lunch with Mom was great. Tired but in a good mood.

Cheers all

Jim

Clearly I should have sent in the ninja attack spiders with their extra-sharp pointy sticks - revolting students

Sadly all the excitement happened after I had left for the day but since the protesters apparently broke into the big clock tower (which is just to the right of my office window), I could have used a trebuchet to launch the airborne Sri Lankan troops right at them.

If the temp agency paid me overtime, I could have been on the premises and sorted those students out before the police even had time to put the coffee down and get over here.

In other news, we have white stuff falling from the sky but nothing like the blizzard conditions Swampy has to endure. I hope you’ve stocked up on TP and there is French toast for breakfast today!

Hence the caution. If I get to third gear while I’m driving in snow, I’m speeding.

Speaking of driving in snow, I need to skid into irk now. The melt froze overnight and I need to make sure it’s at prime sliding condition before rush hour.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 27 Amurrkin out which is not as cold as predicted, so there’s that I reckon. The predicted high for the day is 48 Amurrkin. By Sunday the predicted high will be 71 Amurrkin. Go figure.

Anywho, since I cannot go to my orifice today, I shall irk from home. Poor me.

Jim and Spidey no need to airdrop cats. Just use the ones that already roam the ‘hood. This should save y’all money that could be used for an extra shark or jellyfish. Also, since my ceemint pond is only six feet at the deepest end, you might want to consider smaller sharks. Just tryin’ to be helpful. :stuck_out_tongue:

StickyBuns appropriate/inappropriate appendages shall be crossed re the interview tomorrow.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then I shall purtify. Even if’n I am not leavin’ da cave, I shall at least be clean.

Happy Thursday Y’all!
