Had numerous car troubles today, but things seem all right now. (Hope I didn’t just jinx it!)
Back from lunch and erranding. This county is amazing when it comes to snow removal. The two main drags are mostly drying, and most of the side roads are plowed. Our driveway is just wet - all residual snow is gone, except for what’s in the shade of the truck. So our hard work has paid off - yay!
It’s warmed all the way up to the middle 20s!! Thurs and Fri highs will be in the teens, Weds night low will be -4°. But then it’ll return to days above freezing. So there’s that.
Winter sucks - have I mentioned that??
Meanwhile just over the mountain we were a sheet of ice this morning. I was an hour late coming in today. It’s all melted off right now, at least where the sun hit. Tomorrow shouldn’t be as bad.
You are my new hero.
I always start giggling when I mess with the “computer techs” who call.
red I figure if a Man of The Cloth (YP) is encouragin’ this, any lightnin’ bolts would be aimed towards his posterior.
If you’re going to have mis-matched shoes, will you go with mis-matched socks too?
You have different color shoes?
Man, you are really stylish.
I will soon have to talk to someone about something. Let’s just say I’m not looking forward to it.
There’s a company that does recruiting for insurance sales. The emails come from @qikmail.com. I know this because I’ve seen enough of them that I recognize their pitch:
*Hello Spidey,
I have been attempting to contact you after finding your resume on careerbuilder.com about some open positions within Insurance Co name in the your town area. As of today, I have been unable to connect with you. I understand that you may be busy - so if you can just give me some days/times to contact you, I will be happy to work around your schedule. If you are no longer looking for a new position or are not interested, please let me know.
Just to clarify, I’d like to talk with you about some job openings with our company, but I’d also like to learn more about your professional experience and your future goals. Whether you are actively employed or still looking, I’m confident there is a place in our organization for someone with your skill set based on what I know of your resume.
There are a few skills we are looking for that don’t always come through in a resume, and we do require.. If you are a self-motivated, hardworking individual that enjoys a self-challenging career, than please give me a call.
Please <click here> to set up a time to have a quick conversation. Hope to hear from you soon.*
The problem is that this is their default & I’ve received the Same. Identical. Email. from at least 10 different insurance firms trying to guilt me into calling them because they haven’t heard back from me. The only thing that is different is the three underlined fields. :smack:
Iffn I find the company who sends them Swampy will be safe at the ceemint pond as there won’t be enough sharks left in the world’s oceans to come tumbling out of the sky into a Jawjan backyard!
I’m seriously considering the idea of having a picnic outside when the temperature finally reaches above freezing.
That adventure in shoveling really kicked my butt! I’s tahred, and it’s just 6PM!!!
**FCD **will be going to work tomorrow, so I need to remember to turn the alarm back on. And I need to run to the grocery store tomorrow - we’re down to half a loaf of bread! OH NOES!!!
Canadians should spend September through March in Florida or somewhere warm.
Many of them (especially older people) do. They’re called “snowbirds.” I’m not in favour of it, though - I say, if someone’s not tough enough to spend all year in Canada, they shouldn’t live here. (Or else I’m just jealous of people whose finances and jobs or lack thereof allow them to spend a few months in warmer areas.)
I wish I could just take the next plane to Vancouver, where I heard it’s really warm.
Time to recline.
MWAH!

dammit.
If only the weather was the biggest of my problems, though… tomorrow I’m going to try to talk to a friend. Someone I did consider a friend, but who now just causes me a whole lot of anxiety. A fellow orchestra musician in my theatre group.
I’ll try to talk to her at a party that we’re apparently both attending. I imagine she’s attending because I said I might be there. Yes, she has, shall we say, a thing for me. And I’m getting freaked out by all her, uh, attention towards me. (I’m not imagining this - she did straight-up admit her feelings for me, to me.)
I talked to my conductor about it the other day. He offered the information that this musician dates men too. I told my conductor that I’m perfectly fine with people of all sexual orientations. that’s not the issue, really. (The issue is that the things this musician has been doing to me have been freaking me out.) Mr. Conductor suggested I talk to this musician in person.
So tomorrow at the party, I need to think of what I should say to this girl. Maybe that I’m flattered, but I’m not romantically interested in women (not that there’s anything wrong with that), or some such thing.
I’m so bad at talking to people.
That pretty much sounds like a bummer.
You have my best wishes, for whatever they are worth.
Howdy Y’all! Home from the big Shrove Tuesday doin’s over to the church house. We had a great crowd with lots of pancakes, bacon, and snausages. We gave out even but not before everybody got some and seconds even. Looks like around eighteen hunnert bucks got raised for the Deacon’s fund. YAY! Also, a lot of mismatched shoes.
flytrap I have brown, black, beige, and blue (canvas) shoes. If’n you count sneakers, white as well. Spidey no one should ever have those shoes.
Midget that’s not the way I swing or words to that effect is all you need to say. Please don’t add “not that there’s anything wrong with that”, because that’s a given, ok? Really though lettin’ her know she’s barkin’ up the wrong tree should not offend her. That way she can go bark up somebody else’s tree who might be interested.
And on that note I shall betake myself beddy bye. Da bear is tahrd!
Nitey Nite Y’all!
More PD on the street tonight, but only because they come out to all FD calls. Neighbor blew a pipe so FD is helping to dewaterfy (is too a word) their basement.
It’s good to live it the better part of greater suburbia, where the volunteer FD will come out & do such things.
Thanks, all.
