Midget, in case simply telling her you’re not interested doesn’t do the trick (I suspect if she’s been doing stalkery type things, it may not be enough of a deterrent just to tell her ‘no’) you need to be able to stand up to her. I’m not suggesting obtaining a restraining order, but I would skip the pleasant phase and go right to the ‘leave me the fuck alone’ phase if you have to.
What I figure is, I’ll talk to her, and then if she still does things that bother me, I’ll think of something to say then.
I’m smoking a roast outside Friday – 3 below or not.
Good thoughts and prayers headed north. Hope it all turns out to be much ado and everythings fine.
I feel for you Midget, I used to have a hard time telling people something that I thought might hurt their feelings. Swampy is right though, just tell her you’re flattered but you don’t swing that way. If it escalates, then do as Rosie says and get a little more forceful.
Worked, came home. More tomorrow.
midget, sounds like a plan.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 31 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 53 for the day. I’m ready for Spring. Speakin’ of which, the annual pine tree orgy is beginnin’ to crank up. I saw some pollen on twuck yestiddy.
Today is Ash Wednesday the first day of Lent. Thus I shall go get ashed this evenin’ over to the church house. Before that comes irk and today I start out by headin’ up to the north forty this mornin’. On the plus side, I get to leave from da cave so I can be a sorta bear of leisure until around eight this mornin’.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Hump Day Y’all! A Blessed and Holy Lent to those who observe.
Another glorious 7° morning!! And that’s before the next “Arctic blast” rolls into town. rah.
**FCD **is off to work, Higgs is snoozing after having to go out and pee followed by breakfast, and Taz is resting after disciplining my unders and socks as I showered. I laid out my clothes on the bed, and Taz came in an attacked the smaller garments. He’s not brave enough to take on jeans! Goofy cat…
Later today, I will venture forth for some bread and shampoo. I’ll probably run the vacuum also, and I think I’ll remake the bed. Not changing the sheets, just pulling off the various layers and tidying them all. FCD has been really restless and he’s managed to get everything all kitty-wumpus. The easiest way to set it right is peel it all back and start again. So that will be my exciting day.
I did decide to shower and dress before getting up and tending to Higgs since she’s been sleeping in, and it worked out well. I am now presentable for many public occasions (except that I’m wearing slippers instead of shoes at the moment.) Plus being clean makes me feel better all around. My shoulders and back are a wee bit achy after yesterday, but overall, I don’t feel to horrible, so yay! Maybe I’ll even venture out and clear the back deck… later… when the sun’s out.
Happy Wednesday, Happy Start-of-Lent if you are so disposed, Happy Thoughts for a hurry-up spring!
Our local frawgs think it’s nearly spring- they’ve been orgying away in my pond
I’m not sure what a frawg’s meteorological ability is like, but hopefully they have some insider spring knowledge. It’s all sunny, and there’s some flowers out and buddies tweetin’ away in the bushes an all, so they may know what they’re doing.
It is also veritably spring-like over here in the Wet Midlands - there’s birdies chirping away, flowers attempting to grow and the campus ducks have been wandering around today enjoying the sun and above-freezing temperatures.
I am trying to put together online evaluation questionnaires for my students, using possibly the slowest and clunkiest system ever dreamed up by someone who thinks I have too much time on my hands and I need to spend most of it being told by a machine to “please wait…”
I have "pleased wait…"ed for quite long enough, get on and do something!
Up, caffeinated, off to work. It’s a balmy 21 degrees at the moment.
Nut, it’s not Spring on this side of the pond till Liz, Ard, and Fred start orgying on swampy’s back porch.
OMG, it’s a virtual Monday.

[li]Was sick last night, I think it was grumpy liver. Could not eat dinner.[/li][li]Slept right through my alarm this morning, to the point that I woke up a the time I normally leave for the day.[/li][li]Called ahead to a local restaurant for carry-out brekkies, having left my wallet at home on my desk.[/li][li]My back still hurts from shoveling snow yesterday.[/li][li]More snow tonight.[/li][/ul]
I can’t even blame TVCTPMO for this. All I can do is claim that the universe has once more cocked the fuck with me gun.
It’s effectively Monday over here. Last had to irk on Saturday.
Well it’s Wednesday here, dammit
It’ll be a long day, with much to do and much to think about.
Happy Hump Day!
It’s cold, sunny but cold.
The furnace is running non stop and it’s still cold in here. The dog moved his bed over closer to the heat vent.
I didn’t sleep well last night and my eyes are burning this morning. I wanted to sleep in but I have to irk
Woke up early, figured lying around trying to fall asleep wasn’t worth the waste of time (or worse, if I did fall back asleep, the alarm would jerk me awake and I’d be groggy and grumpy for a while) so I got up, got washed and dressed and bussed my butt on into work, all without really noticing that I got here and was clocked in at the time that my wake-up alarm would be going off!
Took some chicken boobies out of the freezer last night for tonight’s dinner. No idea what I’ll do with it, though. Ideas? Suggestions?
I’m awake ---- I think. I’ve got like 5 people I need to meet with this weekend and the scheduling is getting tough. It almost makes me wish I had signed up for voluntary overtime and just blown them all off.
It’s one part of having an actual schedule now that I haven’t quite adjusted to.
So much for my plans. About 8:30, **FCD **called and asked me to bring his passport - he was rescheduled to get his CAC today and he forgot to take it. His appt was at 9:30. Good thing I’d showered and dressed - I just had to put on shoes, then get the truck warmed enough to clear the frosty windshield - the scraper didn’t do much.
I met him about 9:15, and I know he made it to the pass office in time, but there was no place to park - I saw that as I drove past. Hope he got the card. I went on the WalMart, which hadn’t been my plan, and I got a few things I needed and a few others just because. Naturally, I forgot to check for Easter grass, dammit. I stopped on the way back to pick up my check at the little store - a whopping $4.56. And I noticed all of my conversation heart coasters and the heart-shaped bag were still on display. So that didn’t make me any money. I sure hope the bunny baskets sell, or I’ll really be screwed…
When I got everything unpacked and put away, I decided to knock some of the snow off the deck, and I took this pic of my clothesline deck. Cool, huh?
Quite a lot of excitement for one morning…
Howdy Y’all! I’m back in the orifice after a trip up to the north forty. Now it’s a mountain of paperirk to deal with for the rest of the day. Oh well, at least it’s a way to be joyless on the first day of Lent.
Flotrap, pull the pins out of your [del]Bob[/del], [del]Boob[/del], V-Bob doll, will ya!
Well it’s good you stayed up as we already have a rabbit & V-Bob around here.
As for me, second day in the orifice in 1½ weeks & first day getting presentable dressed (ie. not sweats) since Firday. I forgot all sortsa stuff today. :smack: Home has a fridge full of lunches…& I’m cashless since I never went to tap MAC this weekend because it was already snowing when we came home on Sat & there were no plans to venture out again due to the forecast. Instead of not going out at all I needsta find an ATM & then some food. At least it’s “warm” (mid-20°s) today.
