It's Monday Somewhere-an MMP

How does a fellow obtain one of those?
Are they available in other flavors, say, oh, Spiderman?

Canadians should spend September through March in Florida or somewhere warm.

Last Will and Temperament - Flash video

Just for the record, I hate dealing with Dr’s offices. My dermatologist faxed my pathology report to the surgeon last Friday. I just called the surgeon - they have no record. So I called the derm’s office again and she said she’d fax it again. So I’m about to call the surgeon again.

Me no happy.

Day #3 of Icemageddon. I gave up on the irk thing when I slipped in the drive cleaning the snow off the truck. Then I came in and took a nap.

A question to those who have dealt with this type of thing: what do you do with newspaper clippings and the like that a deceased loved one saved but have no meaning to anyone in the family? Dad sent a box of this stuff home with me since I tend to be the family archivist. They are mostly clippings of bad poetry from the newspaper and Catholic Digest. There were a dozen that I set aside to save, but I feel a little bad about throwing the rest away. Suggestions?

Finally! Appointment next Thurs at 2.

**Red **- I tend to be ruthless about tossing stuff. In your case, I’d suggest taking the things you think you want to throw away and set them aside for a few months. If no one asks for them or about them, go thru them one more time, then toss them. I would guess no one would miss them or care.

I’m trying to spare my daughter such decisions by tossing things now. I really doubt that she cares about most of the crap I’ve saved and forgot that I have.

I’d save stuff like obituaries of friends and family, but bad poetry would be used to light the fireplace. If it’s not a lot of stuff, consider scanning it and giving away disks if anyone cares enough to ask.

red what BBBobbio said. If you think it’s sump’n somebody might want scannin’ and savin’ to a cd is a way to preserve it all without havin’ a bunch of little pieces of paper in a box.

In other news, well, there is no other news. Just a sea of paperirk here at the orifice and a trip over to the east forty tomorrow mornin’. Rah.

Headhunters crack me up. I just got an email from one who supposedly saw my resume on line. The job was for a Process Engineer at a plant that makes optical fibers. Let’s see, my degree is in Aero Engineering and I have no experience in a manufacturing environment and even less experience with optical fibers. The only requirement I matches was knowing how to use Excel. Oh, and the job is in NC.

I wrote back saying “No thanks, I’m retired, take me off your list.” Plus a few other slightly snarky comments. Can you tell I’m kinda bored??

Why don’t you follow your own agreement with Bobbio’s advice. Scan it all & get rid of all of the papers. Then you can go home early (like usual). Duh! :stuck_out_tongue:

See, this is why one should be wealthy.
One has people for that.

“James, old boy, go over to the Dermatologist, and take my results to the Surgeon. You know how these Medical People lose things. Here, a twenty is the smallest thing I have at hand. Buy yourself a beer on the way back. Good man!”

My, my. 1024 channels and there is nothing on. Now, Chevas or Glenlivet? Decisions, decisions.

We got snow.

Howdy Y’all! Irk is over and we have had a simple yet good on a cold day dindin of veggie soup and cornbread. Soon we shall head over to the church house (yet again) to get ashed.

The low temp tonight is supposed to be 21 Amurrkin. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 40 Amurrkin. The low tomorrow night shall be 21 A again. Firday’s high shall be 49. Firday night’s low will be 30. Sattidy’s high and low shall be 67 and 51 respectively. The high Sunday is supposed to be 75 and rainy. :dubious:

Weather be weird.

Spidey I did spend a lot of time scannin’ in paperirk and emailin’ it up the line to TPTB. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ok, Ima go fix up a little and then head on over to get ashed.

Yummy supper tonight of Polish sausage, and there’s enough left over for my breakfast. Yum! And I found a recipe for peach cake that I decided to try. We’ll see how it tastes, but it smells good.

The sun has set and clouds have moved in. We could get up to an inch of snow tonight. oh goody. :stuck_out_tongue:

But I did accomplish some stuff today - shopped, picked up my wussy little check, vacuumed, emptied then refilled the dishwasher, and baked a cake. Plus I did some crocheting, too. Go me!!

TVCTPMO is trying to do its job, but parts are falling down. Irk delivered abundantly, between getting stuck for several hours in a department I don’t know well (did get a bonus in the form of some store credit for it), screeching lead, and yelly smelly slothlike co-irker who just LOVES to crowd up to me so I have very little elbow room. Even actually bumping into her doesn’t get her to move over. DH is doing his part, with just about no productive activity today and groaning about how HE’S tired, to the person who was up at 0500 to go sort donated “goods” for seven hours. OTOH, the local “drivers” failed their part, by behaving relatively sanely both directions.

Wonder if it’s the same entity (I’m not convinced a human is actually part of the process) that thought DH would make a fabulous website progammer in Massachusetts. A bit far to commute… Then someone (something?) else had a similar fabulous opportunity in this area. No idea how they thought someone with no programming experience and no keywords like HTML, CSS, PHP or similar on their resume would be a good senior programmer.

So far, our impression with Career Builder and LinkedIn is that they’re no less spam-saturated than craigslist.

I guess some headhunters take a shotgun approach, hoping to hit something…

I’m going to shut down and recline. I’s tahred!!!

MWAH!

I worked. It snowed. I came home.

What, you don’t wanna be my neighbor?:stuck_out_tongue:

We got just a dusting which with the cold became instant ice-rink style ice. I did fine but I saw three accidents on my way to work and stopped to help at one. Lady slid and slammed and couldn’t get her door open. My handy-dandy extradition tool took care of that. And it was fun too.

Home from gettin’ ashed. YP makes sure one is good and ashed. I have a big, dark cross in the middle of my forehead. I’m sure people passin’ me on the roads on my way back to da cave saw it even.

ruble you earned major karma points and extra stars in your crown for that. Good on you!

Nettie are you sayin’ you’re TVCTPMO is half-assin’ it?

Ok, da bear is tahrd. It’s cold out and my bed is warm. I shall go and visit it for the night.

Nitey Nite Y’all!
