It's Monday Which Means It's Time For The MMP

I’m 53 and can barely take care of me and the cat - how the hell would a baby survive in my home?

Holy crap, I get to page three and y’all are talking about babies?

Outta here!

bookmarks this thread, in preparation of the arrival of MBG’s first grandkid

hehehe - Nava, you cracked me up!!

Another giggle is the thought of swampy in the park with a baby carriage, watching his bebehs playing in the sandbox. Wouldn’t he be adorable??

BBBobbio, hope you get a least a few weeks of use from the uniforms before you’re swimming in them. Near as I can figure, **FCD **didn’t want them because they’re not black. I bought them to get a little color into his wardrobe, and I even let him pick out the colors, but obviously, I misunderstood the power of the black side. I’m not kidding - if you look in his closet, it’s full of black, dark grey, dark marroon, dark green… oddly enough, no dark blue. I don’t think he owns a single white shirt, except for the t-shirt that’s got a big hole in the front…

Yanno, when you start your day by scrubbing the shower stall, it can only get better, right? And when you can see how grubby your shower stall is even without your glasses, it’s pretty bad… In fact, I scrubbed the shower, the shower doors, the toilet, and the sink. Then I scrubbed me, because it was a nasty chore. I’ve had a bowl of cereal and I’m mostly caffeinated, so now I need to haul the laundry baskets downstairs and do a couple of loads.

The kitchen needs to be tidied, and I’ve actually considered dusting. I hate hate hate dusting, but it’s getting pretty bad in here, so I may just take out a rag and have at it. STOP ME BEFORE I CHORE AGAIN!!!

Oh yeah, and happy Wednesday, ashy or not.

Lots of funny responses, but this:

Cracked me up.

I especially like the “point her to Toys R Us” answer.

Hi **'mika! ** That lady is a nutjob.

No more babbies for me, thankyewverymuch. I’ve done had my two, and this after being told I’d never be able to have babies! Anyway, mine are grown, and into early adulthood; both in college, with one ready to graduate.

I’m in no hurry for grandbabies either. I like my life just fine the way it is.

Purty pics, **Pearl. **

Bah, I must do some work now. Work was awful yesterday and I was ready to rip off heads and pee down the throats of those who pissed me off. However, I could only picture that in my mind. On the outside I was all smiles and sweetness. Oh, my boss knew I was mightily pissed; I told him so and I didn’t phrase it nicely either.

I hope today is a better day.

The building that we rent for church services is actually a VFW/American Legion hall, hense the cannon (& yeah we made the shotgun wedding jokes LOL) & thanks, I usually hate pictures of me, but I think I snagged myself a pretty handsome husband  Ate out today with some friends, now for house irk.

So I am going to be the voice of dissent here - I really really really want babies. Badly.

Happy Wednesday everyone aka Hump Day! Whoohoo!

Nice pics pearl looks like you had a super day.

Back to work with me!

**mmmmmm **- it’s not a matter of dissent. Good for you for wanting kidlets!! They’re great - I enjoyed mine. But I’m glad she’s grown and living her own life.

**Pearl **- I forgot to say: very cool pics!! You both looked *soooooooo *happy!!

I’ve finished 2 loads of laundry, and the 3rd is in the dryer. Kitchen next. Something with beef for supper. It’s been a good day.

Howdy Y’all! I’m home cause of wonky power in the irkplace. Don’t know why but the lights are on but none of the electrical outlets are workin’ in my neck of the buildin’. Thus I am here and will be productive as I can irk from da cave. However, I’m checkin’ in here just cause I can.

Here. Kidlets all still alive.

I also want babies, which is good, because, you know, I have them. A lot of them. Some of them are very loud (mostly Gnat).

Yawn. Sleepy. Time for tea and another five pounds of doughnuts.

I just want to say that babies are NOT possessions, they are people. Sheesh!
Although sometimes it can be hard to remember that fact.

Grandchildren are very much fun though.

Nice pics, Janis. I grinned when I saw the cannon too. ← me, grinning.

Swampy, what does one win when they find the Baby Jesus? The person who found him at the party last week was told it meant she had to bring the king cake next year. :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t remember that part of it. The king cake was very good though.

Well, my eye is still hurty from Monday morning’s misadventure, so I’m going to go see my eye doc in a few minutes. Like I don’t have enough people hounding me for money already.

Son-in-law just got laid off from his job yesterday. :frowning: Anybody want a very conscientious, thourough, and altogether too honest safety officer?

Well, that’s quite enough of me. Later.

2 1/2 weeks in they found the UVA student George Huguely V guilty of 2nd degree murder. Mad rush at the Charlottesville satellite farm around 6:45. Now the jury is considering the penalty.

Guess I get to come home tomorrow!

I got taken to dindin. We had catfish filets at the local good fish place bein’ as it is Ash Wednesday the beginnin’ of Lent and all. We are also officially Ashed.

Bumba I always thought findin’ the Baby Jesus meant you had your own Baby Jesus to squeeze and hug and name George. That and some beads. I never heard it means you’re the one to bring the king cake next year. MMMMM… king cake!

Now I shall go lie upon the bed and watch me some teevee until sleepy bye time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Well he is called a personal savior, right? :p:D

Bad Sticky!!! (Reverence has never been my strong suit, either.)

Also my favorite take on the situation.

Sounds like a good move, lieu. It’s almost never a good idea to stay once someone has decided it might be OK to show you the door, no matter how uninformed the decision makers are.

I laughed at this as well.

I have been to mass with Local Best Friend and her daughter, who is now 4 1/2. She’s getting big enough to ask questions about everything that’s going on, which is very cute and very challenging. (She knows when she’s allowed to talk and when she needs to be quiet, so we can be quietly amused.) I’m pretty sure she’s been to church on Ash Wednesday every year, but this was the first where she got ashes. She was intrigued. I made the mistake of asking her what shape the ashes on our foreheads were and she said “well, they’re kind of shaped like a cactus.” We were in the car by then, so it was OK that her mom and I broke out in giggles.

I’m in the “happy to have nieces, nephews and godchildren” camp. LBF’s kids are plenty locally and Faraway Best Friend’s kids are lovely long-distance kids, although they’re not really kids anymore. Faraway Goddaughter might be coming to live with me for a bit later this year (or early next) while she’s figuring out what she wants to study. That will be fun.

I’m relieved to hear that LiLi wants babies. Cuz…she has a bunch. And, I hope there are little mmmmmmmmmmmmms sooner rather than later.

Gonna watch something online for a bit, then it’s off to sleepy bye.

Hugs all.

GT

I know you all have been chewing your nails in suspense, so, The doc said my eye will be fine. Just a little abrasion.
I won’t get to go shopping for eye patches after all. Which would have necessitated shopping for a sword, and a parrot. And I don’t really care for parrots, so it’s just as well.

Night!

Happy National Margarita Day
And yes, I had few[/obigatory dunken prost]

I’m glad your eye will be fine, **Bumba. **

ems, I’ve just had my time with babies and in a different phase of my life.

I managed to slog through another day of work. One more day to go, and then I get to hang with my baby sis who is in town this week. I’m really looking forward to it. We didn’t grow up together, but we are more alike in our attitudes and how we think and than the sister I did grow up with. It’s kind of weird. We always have a great time together.

It would be awesome if she and her husband could get stationed up here. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will happen.

I think I’m going to head upstairs and watch some television in a few. Hopefully, the replacement lamp for our TV in the great room will be here in tomorrow or Friday. I miss sitting in my comfy chair while watching TV.

For Bobbio
Time to recommence the blurfing!
