No, I haven’t heard back from him and I’m not too surprised. My ovens are very big, as a matter of fact, each deck weighs over 600 lbs. This guy wasn’t sure that they were going to fit through his door and he was trying to move everything by himself. That kind of makes me :dubious: because I can’t picture any commercial oven that you could move on your own. But, whatever, I’ll just put them on craigslist or something and hope for the best.
Evening! I made it home after an almost 7 hour drive. But I am home. I also cleaned the kitchen scrubbed both toilets the shower the tub and bathroom sinks and dusted and done 3 loads of laundry. Mr ems is in trouble due to the pig sty he left the house in when I was gone this week. Supper is rotisserie chicken from the sto’ and buncha salad fixins. He better hurry up and get home as I am starving!
Might as well go for the trifecta and get a Pap smear, (or something else down there. I don’t know. I don’t have lady bits.)
I’m sure I had more, but I forget. Too traumatized contemplating poor Mooooom’s doctor appointment.
Thanks for all the hugs and good thoughts, everyone. Sad day today at work. Lots of people in tears or on the verge. (My co-worker was the kind of person who knew everyone.) Had lunch with my closest work friends; we just needed to be together. Our COO and one of our ex-bosses were there early this morning to make sure everyone in our department heard the news personally and that everyone was OK.
Still having trouble concentrating, so I’m not remembering much of what I’ve read. Had sushi for dinner, then went for ice cream and a really long walk.
Guess I’ll find a movie to knit by.
Hugs and rosie’s sig to all.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN ‘Tis 70 Amurrkin out which will be today’s high. It’s suppose to be all gloom and doom with a chance of apocalypse later this mornin’ and the temp will drop to 66. There be storms on the way!!! Let it storm I say. Only not too bad.
That’s about all I got right now. I need me some more caffiene and I’s hongry!
Happy Sattidy Y’all!
How long have you been married?? A Pap is a no-big-deal in-office procedure - no special prep required or expensive equipment needed. sheesh
My appointment is to set me up for the expensive, not-much-fun stuff. I’m pretty sure I’m not getting a bone density scan this time, but that’s a no-biggie for the most part. You lie on a table with weird specialized pillows to support your limbs in unnatural postures, allowing the machine to get clearer pictures of bones and joints of interest. Anyway, I don’t think it’s that.
I think we’re going to Glen Burnie today to the aquarium store we visited after FCD’s last surgeon appointment. They do water tests there, so he wants to take a sample of ours to make sure it’s all OK. Altho, like a local store owner says, if the corals are good, then the water is fine, since corals are really fussy. No biggie - it’s a dreary day and the drive will give us something to do. Maybe we’ll stop in Annapolis enroute. Tugig, if we do, I’ll wave! ![]()
Another bizarro week of weather ahead. Monday promises snow and below normal temps, then Thursday, we’ll be seeing 70 again. Obviously not as bad as those poor folks who are getting whomped by tornadoes, but doesn’t it seem like overall, weather is really flaky these days? Is there an evil villain on an island somewhere with a weather ray gun?
Guess that’s all I can manage for now. Happy Saturday!!
Good morning all.
Laying here trying to become human. I have spent the better part of the week feeling like hell, hacking up a lung and beginning to get concerned that I had smoke inhalation from the truck fire, however a conversation with coworkers last night leads me to believe it’s just the cold that is going around.
In about an hour I will pack a bag, wander up to Towson and pick up my children for a weekend at my parents on the Eastern Shore. During the past few years my visits with my kids were few & far between due to the personal issues of my soon to be ex. Fortunately they are well rounded children (now at 12 & 13) and we’ve picked up where we left off with little issue.
Sticky, with regards to the heavy oven, a hand truck does wonders. I have a Samsung fridge that is 500 pounds if its an ounce, and I roll it around with a hand truck and a strap with ease.
FCM sorry I probably won’t be here to wave back. Perhaps we need to mull over a Dopefest this year since there seems to be a quorum of folks in the area.
Oh, and for some fun, here is video of my truck on fire. It’s actually video just after I put the fire out inside the truck and had pulled out my coats, which are the flaming pile in the street.
I am glad the weekend is here.
Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Hockey tonight.
gigi, I like the way the police car is hiding behind a tree.
I need to go to the dump, so today must be Saturday. Rah.
Towson?? I grew up thereabouts. In fact, we used to be considered in Towson till, for some reason, the post office decided to designate our neighborhood as Parkville. My childhood home was off Loch Raven Blvd near Putty Hill. I went to Goucher College for a year, back when it was still a women’s college. Wow, I suddenly feel a close connection to you.
And I agree, a Dopefest is long overdue. I think the last one I attended was when **twickster **arranged a day at some gardens near where my mom lives in Harford county. Can’t believe I don’t remember the name of the place.
**FCD **is still abed. I’m hungry, but I know as soon as I have breakfast, he’ll wake up and want to go out to eat. I may have a bowl of cereal anyway.
Yeah, technically it’s Lutherville (Between York & Charles just outside the beltway) and the subject of an entire different rant that I will not begin today.
You are talking to a graduate of Loch Raven Senior High I might add. I grew up in Carney near the Hickey Boys School.
Small world.
It’s sitting on a cart with wheels right now. The trouble comes in getting it through door ways because it’s so wide. When we put it in the back basement it literally ripped off some of the molding along the way because it filled up the whole hallway (and that’s while it is sitting on its side). It was transported here on a flatbed trailer which was driven down the hill to my grandparent’s sliding glass door. Then it took four strong men to lift it from the trailer to the cart and they were struggling. This is pretty much what it looks like (the decks separate).
I went to Parkville high - Loch Raven opened during my senior year, otherwise I’d have gone there also. My bro lives in Lutherville/Timonium, off York Rd.
OK, Dopefest or no, we need to meet…
So yoy’re down in the dumps today? ![]()
Up. Trying to get motivated. Have a potluck to go to this afternoon. Dunno what I’m taking yet, but I’m sure something will turn up. Guess I’ll go browse the blog. Although, I’m thinking maybe a variation on curried fruit would work. Cuz it’s really easy.
Wow, tugig! That’s some video. I was wondering how you were doing. Glad your relationship with your kids is moving back to where it should be.
I don’t usually count on Mashable to make me smile, but I thought this was cute.
And, Mooooommmmm, I can tell you the last Dopefest you went to… ![]()
Need to do some cleaning and laundry. Am also thinking about what fun thing to do today in addition to the potluck.
Guess I really need to get moving.
Hugs.

If I was in the dumps this morning, think how I was last night when I got this cookie fortune:
You and your wife will be happy in your life together.
<snerk> IN BED! <snerk>
Somebody had to do it!
I have done a bunch of ironin’. Still not finished but I’m tahrd of ironin’ for now. Plus it sounds like it’s about to get stormy so Ima turn off the 'puter for a bit.
Laterz!
I was up early but so far all I have done is go to Starbucks. No energy today.
mr ems is vacuuming I think I will go strip the spare beds and get those sheets washing as we have visitors next weekend. That counts as productive right?
Happy Saturday!
mmmmmms you have to walk aaaaaallllllll the way to the spare bedroom(s), strip the beds, walk aaaaaalllllll the way to the laundry room, open the washer, turn the washer on, put the sheets in the washer, put in detergent and fabric softener, close the washer, walk aaaaaalllllllll the way to some other room of the house while the sheets wash, walk aaaaaalllllll the way back to the laundry room, open the washer, open the dryer, pull the sheets out of the washer and put 'em in the dryer, turn the dryer on, walk aaaaallllllll the way to another room while the sheets dry, walk aaaaaaalllllllll the way back to the laundry room, open the dryer, get the sheets out of the dryer, close the dryer, clean the lint trap, walk aaaaaalllllllll the way back to the spare bedroom(s) and put the sheets back on the beds. That is definitely productive.
Bwahahahahahahaha
When you put it like that man that is a lot of work!
Towels are in the dryer, comforter is washing and I have folded and put away laundry. I am exhausted!
