Thisis the second pic like this I’ve seen in as many weeks - is this really the new fashion trend??
If I looked like that I might wear that dress, too!
Unfortunately, the people that will try to wear it will shop at Walmart, and it… well, it won’t be pretty.
: pukey smilie:
Well, thanks for *that *mental image, Rebo. It may take some time before I can forgive you.
[QUOTE=Filbert]
Not sittin’ up straight yet much- not supposed to sit up any length of time, really, for another week. Lie down or stand, no sittin’.

Do they have you icing yet? It’s been nearly three years, but I recall a week of lolling in a recliner with a big ice pack on my back several times a day - pretty much as soon as it re-froze, it was time for another round.
I have this mental of DH standin’ there with a big bowl of cake frostin’ icin’ down gotti’s back several times a day. Wonder if the firemen next door might like that.
What? Look I’ve been sloggin’ through copious efile case notes this mornin’. A whole lot of ‘em make little to no sense. Fortunately I have the capability of editin’ even old case notes to attempt to clean ‘em up. So, if the notes were written by somebody who is long gone, I’ll clean ‘em up. Any notes from current staff members will get cleaned up by said staff member. Monday will be da bear gets mean day. I’ve got a spreadsheet goin’ to capture stuff that needs to be cleaned up and by that I mean redone so it makes sense. I shall also reiterate that notes should be written in word first, checked for spellin’ and grammar and then copied and pasted into enotes. Once this mess is cleared up woe be unto anyone who does this again. Thus speaks da bear.
Thus endeth my sorta rant.
In other news, I went to the sto’ early this mornin’ and bought shrimpies. Steamed shrimpies are gettin’ nicely chilled in the fridge as I post. Shortly I shall take a break for N.O.L. and make coleslaw. Kinda nice to be able to irk from home and do stuff like that.
MOOOOOOM maybe it was too early in the day to see butt dresses at wallyWorld. I kinda see that as more of WallyWorld evenin’ dress.
Congrats Filbert!
GT, that’s awful. I can’t even imagine.
So I’m looking purty today. My favorite skirt (ankle-length, with a grey on dark grey herringbone pattern that’s dense enough to treat as a solid). Green men’s shirt, yellow tan and blue vest, blue bowtie. Mom gave me her knee socks, so I’m wearing a pair of those with a pair of earth shoes that I’ve only worn a couple of times because they tend to rub the skin off the top of my feet (but I haven’t worn them with socks before).
Going to a friends’ house after work to write and do fun things. Staying the night there, then home in time to catch a Celtic dance group at the parents’ church. Then Sunday having lunch with Rick, because we’ve been trying to get together for a month.
I killed the MMP!
(what do you mean everyone is busy working?)
Never mind.
ShinyCat you do indeed sound right fetchin’ today!
Takin’ a little break from irk. Or as I’ve been callin’ it homeirk. I can live with typos. It’s the bad grammar, incorrect word usage and obvious misspellin’s that get to me. I want to tell people spell check and subject-verb agreement are our friends.
AARGH!!!
Oh well, that’s why I make the big bucks. On the plus side, dindin will be nummy.
Back to the world of how not to write case notes.
I decided to play in clay for a while. I wanted to start my penguin chess set. I tried a couple of approaches for the pawns and nothing worked. I need to think some more. But I did throw a couple of bowls, so there’s that.
It’s grey and icky outside, and the weather radar shows rain is on the way. ugh
I want a nap. Or ice cream. Or both. ugh
I have been trying to make myself a study guide for chem, with definitions and formulas (formulae?) that I can’t seem to remember. The Terrible Iggy Dammit is making it difficult though. He insists on sleeping on my lap and that means my text book is about 2 inches from my chin. It’s a tad awkward.
We were good doobies yesterday. Sweetie stayed home and we cleaned the driveway, loaded up the firewood rack, went to the pet store and the grocery store. Then we made a nice yummy dinner from a recipe we printed out AT the grocery store (creamy beef with mushrooms and noodles). Supposedly it’s healthy. We found it in the diabetes management category even though neither of us is diabetic.
Netflix took Soap off instant viewing and I’m PISSED!!! We were just about to finish season 1 and we were really enjoying it!! Bastards.
The neurologist is being a pest. They insist on having every single record of anything that even mentions my eyes, head, or spine. So, I have to contact 3 more doctors and get records that are over 7 years old and are in archives. If I can’t get them at least 2 days before my appointment, I have to reschedule. Of course the ophthalmogist is closed today (don’t know why). They are always closed on Monday so I can’t even contact them until Tuesday. If they already went to the archives in March, I’m screwed. Grumble. What’s even more annoying is that my head pain has been greatly reduced over the last few days and it’s making me want to just call the whole thing off. But I wont.
I’m glad your back is feeling better Nuts!
I had been reading the Dunwich Horror before going in for my elbow surgery and when I woke up, I thought my room was filled with ancient tentacled monsters. Oddly, that didn’t bother me. I did call my sister and leave her a voice mail to let her know I was out of surgery and she kept it and had all her coworkers listen to it. Apparently I wasn’t completely awake and I even made mention of the monsters in my voice mail.
Morphine is a wonderful thing. It was the IV that I had to have taken out after back surgery and it made me sad but it was so burny. I had a shot of morphine years earlier than that when I was in the ER with a really bad kidney infection. I went from horrible, mind-numbing, debilitating pain to complete relaxation (of the floating on a cloud variety) in a matter of nanoseconds. It was awesome. It also made me very giggly. They took me away for a CT scan and when I came back I was left in a hallway. There was a prisoner sitting in a wheelchair, shackled at the legs and arms, with 2 guards. Sweetie came back from smoking and found me drugged out of my mind and pointing and laughing at the prisoner and his guards.
GT I’m so sorry about your coworker.
Why can’t I buy paint?
Specifically, why can’t I get three gallons of Glidden Duo Base 2012? Went to the store on Tuesday for said paint, and found that earlier that morning, someone bought up all 38 gallons that they had in stock. Paint Guy didn’t say if they had it colored or not, but who the heck buys 38 gallons of paint at one time? If you need that much, you should be buying the 5-gallon buckets, and leaving the singles to people who just want to finish painting the kitchen and home office.
Suffice it to say that the paint is not back in stock yet, which will put a kink in our weekend plans.
congo, thanks for mentioning Dr offices - I finally remembered to call and make my follow-up appointment with mine. Time to schedule tit-squishin’, a colonoscopy, and I think there was something else she needed me to do. So a week from Monday, I’ll be moseying down to her office.
**gotti **- is there only one place you can buy that paint? Or is there a reason you want Glidden instead of another brand? The only brand I avoid is Olympic because they pissed me off some years back and I refuse to give them any more of my money. I’ll show them!!
That sounds like the most unpleasant day I can think of.
The quack gonna get her at both ends?

A: We have a Glidden Master Palette, so all of or color choices have been based on that.
B: We’ve had nothing but really good results with Glidden Duo. It lays down smooth and nice and covers fantastically well.
C: We’ve had heartbreak or outright pissed off irritation with Valspar and Behr.
D: I don’t feel like driving to the far other side of town for Benjamin Moore.
Glidden Duo is almost good enough to cover baker’s chocolate-dark brown with “Dapper Tan” in one coat. (Not our walls, but those are the colors.) In comparison, Behr’s premium primer and paint combo was nowhere near good enough to cover something similar to Dapper Tan with butter yellow in *three *coats. That was probably the most irritating bathroom I’d ever painted. I’ve never had anything take four coats before.
I don’t remember what brand I used, but it took 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint to cover garnet red. What a nasty chore that was! And all to sell the house. I loved those garnet walls… <sigh>
Dresses like that make me want to go up and slam a snowball in the exposed crevice. That’s pretty much the reaction to the prom dresses that were In Style back in my day.
This week has been crazygonuts. rosie’s sig to everyone.
Ask and ye shall receive. Do you suppose his name is Hamlet? ![]()
So StickyBuns did you sell the oven?
Dindin was teh nummiest! I done good! I even baked a pan of brownies. OYKW said that was fine eatin’. High praise indeed!
Also, I got though the irk stuff. Rah.
Dammit - I want brownies now.
We went out for not-too-bad Chinese because I hadn’t planned anything for supper and I was starving. It’s raining an cold an icky out, but I’ve got a fire going, which helps things in here. Shortly, I shall assume the position on the recliner and work on another scarf while watching TV - good times!
