IT'S! . . . monty python's monday mundane posts [MMP]

It snowed this morning. Didn’t stick though.

I got to go hang art today for Friday’s Artwalk. i’m home now to roast a chicken, something I don’t do very often, so I hafta read up on it. Unfortunately,I’ve found everything from 325 for about an hour to 450 for who knows how long. Guess I’ll wing it.

I’ve read but not retained, so Rosie’s sig to all.

I got volunteered to go to Costco tomorrow for meatballs. Anybody want anything?

Wait! Swampy’s gay!?! :eek::eek::eek:

Bumba I know it’s a shock. I hid bein’ gay for so long. Oh and while you’re at Costco, don’t forget the tp.

The news about Davy Jones has brougt out some awful jokes. Last Train To Corpseville, I’m A Bereaver to name a couple. There’s no such thing as too soon on the Dope.

We had taco soup, lentil soup and pimento cheese sammiches at the church house. YUM!

gotti glad y’all survived the move relatively unscathed. When you close your eyes at night do you hear the little digital bits whizzin’ around?

Good news, of sorts. I got word today that my deed-in-lieu on VunderLair I has met final approval, and I will get legal papers in about a week to finalize it. I miss that house and Cottonfield County, but I will be most happy to get over with it.

Swampster, gay as a French trombone…

Bumba, while you’re at Costco, can you pick up a 30 gallon air compressor and a rolling toolbox? kthxbye…

I thought OYKW stood for ‘One Knowledgeable Young Woman.’

Well, the plot thickens as it always does around here. My grandpa is doing better so no one was here with my grandparents for the evening. I came home to what I swear was the smell of ham. They’re not allowed to have ham anymore because of the CHF. So I went downstairs and asked them what they had for dinner and my grandma said, of course, the food that you fixed for us!

When we confiscated the ham and other stuff from their kitchen, we made the mistake of bringing it all upstairs and putting it in our fridge. I’m guessing that my saintly grandmother lied to me and had, in fact, come upstairs and took some ham but knew that she wasn’t supposed to, so she left the rest of it alone so she wouldn’t get caught. As a result, I have just gone ‘bowling with ham’ in the back yard.

And you didn’t take pictures? For shame!

I was saddened to hear of Davy Jones’ passing too - I was a Monkees fanatic back in the day; one wall of my bedroom was plastered (and I mean that literally LOL) with pics of Davy (the others were plastered with pics of Mickey, Peter, and the group); I even went to see them in concert, the summer of 1967. It’s definitely the passing of an era. :frowning:

FCM, the afghan looks great, and I see you kitteh is just like my cousins - has to check out -everything- you do! LOL Which one was that, Taz or Ziva?!

I have discovered the joys of Words with Friends (on facebook), although my brain is starting to feel worn out! LOL I guess it’s good to keep my brain on a still functioning level.

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow; it’s almost the weekend.

**Tarra **- the snoopy nose was Taz, altho I don’t know why he was so interested, as he “helped” me make the thing.

One thing about ol’ Davy - he didn’t seem to age well, facially. He looked “hard” - for want of a better word. It’s funny, tho, Peter looks pretty much the same, altho with a few more lines in his face.

My goofball daughter, who was a next-generation Monkee maniac, declared on her FB page that there should be numerous “Davy sightings” - kinda like when Elvis died. She and her friends are trying to make it go viral. I think spending her days with 5th graders has warped her beyond repair.

Today will be a laundry day - at least 2 loads, maybe 3 if I’m feeling motivated. Aforementioned goofball daughter will be coming for dinner, so I need to figure out what we’ll eat. Maybe tuna steaks? And it’s supposed to get warm today, so I may be able to open the house again for a bit. Oh the thrills ahead of me…

Happy one-th of March!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of around 80 and possible tstorms. Heck, I’ll be indoors at irk all day so I say let it storm. I’m thinkin’ I might make tomorrow a (an?) irk from home day or at least for part of the day. I’m lookin’ at some things I need to do bein’ as it’s the first of the month and a whole buncha that I can do from da cave so why not.

Herbs I’ve been thinkin’ about tryin’ Words With Friends but I’m afraid of the addiction I might develop.

Ok, I need me some more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Is that more or less gay than a bright pink feathered boa at the New Orleans Pride Parade?

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Hockey tonight.

swampy, it’s not addictive. I just refuse to quit.

MMMMMmmmooooommm! can you do my laundry, too?

Of course I will, doggio! Isn’t that what moms are for??

:stuck_out_tongue:

Happy Friday to me!

Off tomorrow and Monday to go visit the CatKid and CatBoy-in-Law.

In sadder news, I’ve misplaced my coffee…

The only thing I can think that would be more tragic is losing one’s beer.

Well, the phone switch in the garage makes an almost imperceptible hissing/whining sort of noise. Just barely loud enough to make you wonder if something’s making noise or not. Almost like it’s a tinnitus generator.

I did have to fix the Uverse installation - the box for the living room TV was not getting quite enough wireless strength, so I moved the wireless access point to the kitchen. Now the box gets a solid five bars and the picture freezing and skipping has stopped. DH was getting so fed up with it that he was about to call AT&T to cancel the service and go back to satellite. I, instead, took the geeky approach and first tried running a long LAN cable down the upstairs hall, down the stairs, across the pantry and kitchen and into the living room to plug the box in directly. When it behaved perfectly, I knew the problem was something I could resolve permanently without calling AT&T.

I’ve noticed that the fire station next door has a subtle “We’re about to go on a call” warning. Before they start their engines, an exhaust fan comes on with a faint whirr. Depending on how nice the day is and if they have doors or windows open, there’s also the dispatch tones and unintelligible voice to serve as a warning.

THAT never happens!

Of all the things that I have lost, I miss my mind the most.

I don’t mind losing my mind. Makes life easier that way.

Thanks for the good wishes and varied crosses appendages! I have no idea why they said it might just be a day visit, 'cos I was very clearly not in a state to do anything last night except flop uselessly. Today, however, I can walk!
Not too well- still a tad wobbly, but mysteriously pain-free. I’ve neither had nor wanted any painkillers today, and I only tried a spot of morphine yesterday out of curiosity (it was hooked up to me, with a little pressy button, how could I not  ). They briefly suggested keeping me in overnight tonight, but there was clearly no need, so home I am!

Waking up from the general was not fun- didn’t cry, did throw up, but whatever possessed them to paint insects all over the recovery room- insects with biiig round bright red eyes, with devilish slit pupils, and terrifying spiky grins.

Had a ‘massive chunk’ of disc removed, according to the surgeon. Only bad news is I have two more slightly dodgy discs, so an end to bad habits is in order to stop them from going too.

Ps. If, when looking for your mind, you happen to find mine, please sent it home. I think I need it.

Yay!!! So glad you are walking pain free, Nut!
(& yeah, waking from anathesia sucks.)
Wishes for even-betterness ASAP!

Good to hear you’re well. I had an L5-S1 diskectomy just short of three years ago and a C5-C6 artificial disc replacement two months ago.

Whatever your surgeon says to do for recovery - DO IT! This includes losing weight, getting physical therapy, practicing good posture and losing weight. (Yes, it really is that important.)

It’s getting to the point that you, me and FairyChatDad need to band together in a spine surgery support group.
