Unbelievably, I slept until like 0830. Been sipping coffee. TCM is interrupting my plans to watch movies on the DVR. I had to watch Public Enemy, and now Billy Budd is on. I dug out some brown Doc Marten shoes I bought in the early-90s and that I haven’t worn in probably four years. I applied some shoe polish. They’re a little shiny now (as opposed to the matte finish they had when I bought them), but they’re presentable. I’m thinking I should attend to the black ones I’d bought previously to them. Zatarain’s dirty rice is simmering on the stove, but with chicken livers in it instead of the ground beef called for on the box. Left a couple of birthday greetings for an old friend.
I’m about to leave work, I’m going to stop and buy a new pair of jeans since I’m on my last non-ripped pair. I’ll go home and make something to eat. My daughter will get dropped off around 5:00pm. After she goes to bed, if there’s nothing on TV, I’m going to rewatch Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
When I buy my jeans, you gave me the idea to possibly pick up some black shoe polish. My black leather boots are getting pretty ugly. Maybe I’ll try my hand at cleaning them up. Oh and I need new laces too. I’ll measure these one’s before I leave work.
Just got home from my tap class. Need to pot a plant, take a shower, wrap a present, and make some soup – it’s a good friend’s birthday, small party at his place tonight.
Spent quite a bit of time this morning at a fabric shop. TheKid’s youth group decided for a service project that they are going to make blankets for some of the shut ins around the church neighborhood (will be delivered with boxes of food and personal use items). I felt bad for the teen behind the counter - bundle after bundle of fleece to be cut. Tonight I’ll show the other kids how to put them together.
We also went to PetCo, as the Terrorists have been mowing through food at a fast rate (although I know Lucy likes their itten food more than her own, which doesn’t help), Target, a Halloween store to browse, and to Don Pablos for lunch.
Taking her to church in a few, show how to do the blankets, then I’m back home to either clean or veg out. Hmm, which one sounds better…
Set up my “new” computer (my brother’s 2 or 3-year old box that was top-of-the-line for gaming at the time, he gave it to me for free. I just bought the hard drive and OS), did some laundry, helped the husband pack for his business trip (he leaves tonight). TV was on all day with hockey, I’ll likely flip to the CFL game soon, then watch the Habs play tonight. Likely going to do some homework while I watch.
First day back from a trip to visit family. Unpacking. I picked up my mail and stopped by the bank. Stopped by the supermarket to get a jar of pesto. Returned a call from a message on my machine. Brought a defective microwave back to the store. Bought a DVD while there.
Still need to do a load of laundry.
Going shopping for a Halloween costume. Dressing as Lizzie Borden is proving more difficult than I first thought.
I’m watching X Factor. Don’t judge me.
Well, as the old song goes: “Saturday Night Is The Loneliest Night Of The Week”.
Rangers are trying to sweep the Rays for their first ALDS win and I’m with them every step of the way, starting at 4:00 PM.
Painted my new shed today. Realized I need two coats, which means another gallon of paint and a whole second day of painting.
I’ve been going to the gym for over 3 months now, doing weight training that includes shoulder exercises. My shoulders are very tired from painting. Mr. Miagi is a genius.
Saturday’s been and gone, and I spent most of it at various choir practices. Now it’s a pleasant Sunday afternoon.
