It's SPRING in the MMP!

I spent a coupla hour outside - added dirt to my raised bed, cleaned the greenhouse and set a couple of big pots in there, and raked the flower bed in front of the porch - LOTS of leaves in there and lots of green popping up - mostly day lilies. I’ve decided that’s enough for today.

We’re waiting to hear back from the car shop - our truck had some nasty vibrations in the front end - the tires looked OK, so it may be something more expensive. We don’t drive far with it, but we haul a lot and daughter and SIL have used it. Since it’s paid for and minimally insured, we’ll keep it going as long as we can.

I think it’s time for some fruit and some TV. I’ve earned a break.

Afternoon all. Jersey Mike’s sammich acquired and assimilated and a few shopping items at Publix purchased. Also filled up the gas tank, Mid-grade is $2.89/gal, so I have to augment my usual $50.00 bill with more cash. Still, should hold me into April.

I do have a mad at Kroger, more than half the pumps there will not hold the ‘automatic’ position, so I have to hold the pump handle myself and if I go a little too far, it shuts off and I have to re-establish the flow. Thinking about writing a note to them complaining…I get .03 to .10/gallon off, but it might not be worth the aggravation…

FCM, think you did right getting the truck into the shop, there are lots of things that it could be and most are not good. Hope it doesn’t set you back too much.

flyboy, good luck at work…I have the feeling you’re going to need it.

talky, remind me not to arm-wrestle you…

boo fae, glad the car pretty much passed the test. There are a couple US states that have testing, IIRC, but for most, if it moves they’ll slap a license on it.

shoe, haven’t been out to breakfast in quite a while…may have to try it one of these days…there is a local cafe that serves plate-sized pancakes…

OK, need to consider nappage and get ready for the 5pm soccer practice with the girls.

I copy the instructions on the correction request form, into the body of the email. I’m also putting ‘Please read the request carefully. This is the third attempt to correct the report.’ at the top.

Honestly, it’s like I’m dealing with kindergarteners.

Good afternoon. I took the family camping last week; it was nice being unplugged. We spent two sunny, warm days at Chickasaw State Park near Henderson, TN (and two cold and wet days). I used to sneer at RVers, but having a solid roof overhead and a decent mattress beats a tent hands down. Saturday and Sunday were spent building a couple of garden boxes for Mrs Magill (and my tomatoes).

Mrs Magill heard back from the hematologist/oncologist this morning. Apparently, she has Hairy Cell Leukemia. Bad news… leukemia. Good news, this is like the Cleveland Browns of leukemia. So we’re looking at several weeks of unpleasantness, but it’s beatable.

I’ve got my Covid jab scheduled for next Monday afternoon at the county health department, which I’m pleased about. I’d be more pleased if Mrs Magill and Fang could get theirs, too. At the rate things are going, it’s looking like they’ll be getting theirs in April.

I’m so sorry to hear about Mrs. Magil, Maus_Magill. I know she’ll beat the bejeezus out of it and it’s so great that she’s got you. I hope she feels better and that the therapy isn’t too terribly hard.

What kind of RV do you have, out of curiosity? We’ve been considering renting an RV at some point to camp because, although I used to live in my little 1.5 person tent during fieldwork season back in the day and I can sleep absolutely anywhere at any time, that doesn’t mean I want to anymore, and an RV sounds like fun.

Best of luck to you and the Mrs.

I’ll be holding good thoughts for you, Mrs Magill and Fang.

talky - We rented a 28 foot Forest River Forester Class C from Nashville RVs. We are still in a try before you buy mode. Last summer, while I was in isolation for Covid exposure, Mrs Magill took the boys to Cumberland Mountain State Park in a 22 foot Class C. There was just enough room for the four of them in that. We’re thinking of doing that same trip at the end of summer for our 20th anniversary.

PWAISDN has a new (to him) car, and I have mine back. And I have bills. Big hospital bills! Right about $17,000 went to the surgical robot - apparently its end tools are disposable. :robot: :money_with_wings: And operating rooms are expensive things to rent! My five-hour “nap” there cost over $46,000 and I didn’t even get a mint on the pillow.

In better news, I’m back at work now. Didn’t lose nearly as much access for inactivity as I feared, and fewer emails than expected.

Since Monday is a really short shift, no one shows up. Which makes it into a normal length shift. Go me.

Congrats on the raise and eggs, shoe.

I like disting.

You could have rented a Lear Jet for that much. :open_mouth:

Feel better soonest taters!

Irked and it was truly a Monday. After irk, I swung through Lowe’s to return the wire units that didn’t fit the cabinet. After KP, I’ll chill in the studio. Such excitement! :stuck_out_tongue:

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

I messed up on my hair appointment–had wrong time down, so it got rescheduled for next week. I walked to the used furniture place. When did even used furniture get so expensive? Dining room chairs were $55 each. No thanks. I walked along the waterfront before heading home, so got 5 miles in. Now I hurt all over. Hmph.

Magic, I’m sorry Mrs. Magic has leukemia, but it sounds like this is indeed a relatively easy one to beat. You’re both in my thoughts, and my thoughts are optimistic.

flyboy, sounds like you’re having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Hope you can have a nice cocktail when you get home.

Maybe it was there, and a doc ate it. Glad work doesn’t entail as much catching up as you’d feared.

I do, too. At least, I like dusting. If disting means something else…um, maybe I like it?

I’ve had a rye, and I’m on my second wine.

Today I got the ‘use front door’ sign (that was delivered to the unused side door) mounted on that pole I had no idea what was for. I was worried I’d break my bit, but I got through.

For dinner tonight, fish florentine, with barramundi from Costco. Yum.

That’s the way I always do it…

They probably would have charged you $17 for it…

Have to get up early tomorrow – ortho appointment at 1030. :frowning: But after all this talk about work, I shouldn’t have any trouble sleeping…

Finally! After several tries and an hour online this evening, I got an appointment for Wednesday to get jabbed. I’ll go in front of the firing squad at 11:00 am in the last town of residence. Funny that half the sites that I went to didn’t have parameters for further than 20 miles. The site that I finally went through could be set for statewide. That’s all it took.

ive wondered that my self as in my school disitrict there only allowing a hand picked 11 people total in a class room and since we now end school at the end of may

But they admitted there doing a test run in case this is still around for next year … i think they wanted some of the billions the state of ca’s giving the schools if they reopen in april …

Boss was being an ass tonight, micromanaging and fussing over every little thing (his meddling made things go slower not better) but then he came around and apologized, which made me feel much better.

I let the nice folks at Taco Hell fix my dinner, and Monkey is chasing the paper bag around like a rabid demon. The energy on that boy!

Me, I’m not sure I have the energy left to turn on the TV. Might just play a few rounds of Zombies on my phone and call it a night. (Might = Exactly what’s gonna happen.)

May everyone’s sleep be deeply restful and may everyone’s dreams be peaceful.

Evening all. Soccer has been practiced and dinner purchased and consumed, so I am taking in easy before bedtime beckons. Nappage was accomplished for about 50 minutes (I set the alarm because I don’t trust myself to wake up on time).

red, Yeah for you!

gotti, do you have insurance to pick up most of that? Hospital costs in the US of A are insane. But glad you up and back to working.

Magic, now don’t go dissin’ my Brownies…seriously, I hope Mrs. Magic takes this down without trouble…

nellie, I checked the Urban Dictionary and they do have a definition for “disting” and surprise, it is even safe for the MMP–“Originated from the words “this thing”. Its like a whatchamacallit or a thingymabob but a little different.” Or check Wikipedia for a completely different interpretation of Disting (An annual Swedish Market)

flyboy, alcohol is justified in this case…hope it gets pounded into their heads (I coach 8 year olds, so I know a little bit how you feel–but you can’t tell those folks to go take a time out…

OK, back to internettin’. All y’all take care.

Dusting. Although the Swedish Market might be fu
n, too.

I assumed that “disting” was short for “distilling” and that’s why Doggie (or whatever your MMP name is) liked it.:cocktail:

I can just see this. Thank you for the several big smiles I am getting out of your word picture.
