Silly person - you think I share my chocolates?? Are you mad?!?!?!?
You’re assuming that a bunch of chocoholic Mumpers won’t have raided said truck en route?

I got to my 10-year, but missed all the others. 50-year will be next summer, but it will require cooperation from the lottery people to let me attend.
51 (wind chill 48) and foggy; high 65, low 42, and a wind advisory (13-16mph, gusting to 43 mph) until midnight. Summer and its horrible temperatures are approaching…
1325 already. Should go shower, get dressed, take my morning meds, and head out to the lab for the blood draw that was supposed to happen Wednesday.
Irking from home. Or horking from womb. Or something like that. It’s the end of the month, so it’s deadly slow. I’ve loaded the data I had. I’ve checked the completion notices for report corrections I sent to Big Credit Corp. Yesterday I brought home the remaining manilla folders from my former boss’s file drawer, and I’ve entered the pertinent information into a spreadsheet so that the paper can be shredded. I’ve emailed a member for more information I need to find a trade line. Now I’m waiting for Mrs. L.A. to get home from seeing a patient so someone will be here when I go into town to pick up my taxes.
Read but didn’t really retain much, so {{{{{Mumpers}}}}}
Mom, I don’t have any advice. I seem to remember that FCD has other sibs besides youngest brother. Have any of them put their oar in yet?
Got shot yesterday afternoon. Since I am the king of side effects, I had some interesting ones about 4 hours later, but I survived. Now we get to wait out our 2 week gestation(?) period.
I fell in the living room last week and now my left hip is really hurting. Got an appointment with my PCP on 2sday to get evaluated. But I really want to mow the lawn. We’re promised 2.5 days of dry weather starting today. sigh
I’ve never been to any of my high school reunions. My 55th was last year. I imagine it was a very small crowd. there’s only one person that I went to high school with that I’d like to see again anyway, and Wifey would be agin that, so nope.
Someone is very keen to buy my ejection seat… and he’s almost local, so there’s no shipping. The bad news is that he’s on the other side of the (closed) border.
Bumba - There’s one other brother - he lives in Texas, and thanks to years of ignoring medical advice about his diabetes, he’s nearly blind, on dialysis 3-4 times a week (I don’t know all the details) and is not a candidate for transplant because of his medical history. Bottom line, no help there.
FCD has made a decision. As soon as his dad is discharged from the hospital, he’s coming home. We’re due to go back there in 3 weeks for MIL’s surgery and he figures that’s maybe enough time for her to realize that she can’t do it herself. So we shall see.
I just watched Rocketman - and I really enjoyed it. Then I went to get the mail (junk) and pulled some weeds while I was out there. Saw several very large branches on the ground - the wind is wicked.
Lately for some stupid reason, I keep getting junk emails for Professional Branding and Networking, all from random, weird email addresses. The latest came from @bestuvsanitizer.co.uk - a domain that just screams branding and networking…
Time to figure out what to do for supper. I may do pizza…
My email used to get emails from a trucking firm that a semi-full of shingles would be my loading dock in 12 hours. I’d have to try to hustle and contact them to try to head them off, then they’d ask me where they should redirect the semi. How the heck would I know? Somebody somewhere was waiting on their tons of shingles but it wasn’t me. Once they didn’t believe me and sent the truck all the way to my city. NMP.
Howdy Y’all! I was at the church house until a little after four today. Whilst there I did a walkabout to see what possible chores might need doin’ or what problems may arise. I don’t know why I do that. I now have a list of stuff that needs doin’. Looks like I may need to schedule an all hands on deck work day for sometime in April. The HVAC folks are not quite done. The a/c is workin’ (the most important thing right now) but they tell me they need to run some cables or some such to get the heat part workin’ and will do so sometime the week after Easter. So I have that to look forward to, hooray. I also scheduled the annual fire inspection and scheduled an inspection or maintenance, or whatever for fire extinguishers and the kitchen fire suppression system. Oh and the fire alarm system is due for a tech upgrade which shall, of course, increase the monthly fee. In just over nine months, I will no longer be church janitor Junior Warden or a member of the Vestry. I am beginnin’ to look waaaaaay forward to that.
{{{MOOOOOOM and FCD}}} just don’t know what to say. Maybe the horsepistol folks can talk some since to FCD’s mom or force her hand or some such. I’m glad my parents were not that stubborn about stuff. Good news about truck, however!
My 50 year high school reunion will be next year. I foresee them celebratin’ sans moi, just like all the other reunions. There are those classmates I keep in contact with, and I’m not worried about the others.
Nettie the tornadoes were well north of me, but close to Ye Olde Home Towne. Ye Olde Home Towne was under a warning but that was all. Newnan, about thirty miles north, got hit kinda hard however. Outside of a little rain and some strongish winds, nuttin’ happened here.
I don’t think my high school has reunions. There were about a thousand kids in my class, so we were really just a whole lot of groups instead of one big, cohesive one. The up side of that was that there was no real hierarchy, and cliques didn’t matter.
Catapult!
FCM, I know he can’t help out physically, but what does Texas brother think should be done? I hope the pizza was yum.
Bumba, hope that hip heals fast.

My 40th anniversary was a country club golf outing, which I had no interest in attending. I guess some of my classmates, all of us from the ghetto, made more money than some of us. This will be my 50th if they have one.
A week before that reunion, I met with a group of people from grade school. A few of us worked together to find as many of them as we could. Most of the people from high school that I had any interest in connecting with here at that event. There is a group of about ten of us that, pre Covid, were getting together about once a month.
I shall refrain from comments about him other than to say I don’t give a flying fig about his opinion and I expect FCD feels the same.
Next year will be my 50th hs reunion, assuming they bother with one. Even if that do, I won’t. I attended 2 - at 9 anna half years (really) and a combined class of 70 thru 75 to-do. I’m still in touch with my 2 closest friends from those days and the few people I would like to see won’t show up. It wasn’t like it was a high point of my life.
Pizza was OK. FCD called - his dad is having a second CAT scan and won’t be going home till tomorrow at the soonest. So my sweetie won’t be coming home yet. And we’ll be headed back there on Apr 17 or so.
Date with Mel tonight…
Since this has become a reunion thread, I just got a Facebook message this week from someone to verify my contact info, she’s apparently on the Committee for our 50th Reunion. I gave her the info (not my phone # though) and we’ll see what they plan. My class had 805 graduates and I wasn’t that close to many of them, but if the timing is right I might go anyway just because it’s 50 years.
And that’s about as active as I got today. Took a nice long hot bath and soccer practice got cancelled (I expect the games tomorrow to be cancelled too) despite it being 76F and clear. That’s supposed to change about midnight and probably rain most of the day Sattiday.
Working my Sudoku’s, just solved the triple mystery square so the rest should fall in fairly easily.
{{{FCM}}}, just because you’re going to need all of them you can get, I think, for the next couple of months.
swampy, I think you’re a lot like me…“No, I’m not volunteering for that, No, I really don’t want to do it again, No, I’m sure you can find somebody, No…well, alright…” That’s how I ended up in charge of 56 6-year old soccer players…
OK, Big Bowl O’Sallit has been consumed, along with way to much Ranch Dressing, so we’ll see what the evening brings. All y’all take care.
So sorry. I was thinking it might help FCD to have the support of a sibling, but obviously, that’s impossible. Knowing FCD essentially has to make decisions without (birth) family input increases my respect and sympathy for him. I’m glad he’s got you–I know he must be, too.
Made baked perch with rice and mushrooms, and Parmesan pepper spinach for dinner. And a Wisconsin Old Fashioned.
I still twitch any time a “F” named storm starts moving landward.
angle it right, and pull the cord.
Sending a virtual supply of Godiva to you Moooooom.
I hope that Mrs. Magill is having a good day magic. Keep in mind, that I’m local if you need anyone to do something like airport pickups for family or anything.
While I went to Catholic grade school, I went to public high school, so graduated with ~600 other kids. Oddly enough, even though I live 400 miles away from where I grew up, there are five of us classmates within about an hour of each other in the greater Nashville area. Truth be known, we graduated during a downswing in the rustbelt, so a lot of us left for other parts for jobs.
I’m in touch with ~1/3 of my classmates via FB friendships or our class page. I’ve been to my fifth and my thirtieth and enjoyed getting to know folks as grown ups.
Another head rolled today at irk. Our inbound / warehouse manager left to spend more time with his family. Our operations director is piloting for the time being and she plays by the no-bullshit rule. I hope whoever replaces the WH manager has similar skills to the OPs director. We could use it.
Irked, took Nelson to the dog park, swung through Arby’s and talked to Sis on the phone for ~1 hour. I’s tah-red. I plan to sleep in and do some laundry tomorrow. Since rain is highly likely, I seriously doubt that we’ll be getting any park time in.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort and heave.
Pokes head in.
I have chocolate mousse, made from Swiss chocolate to (virtually) share with Moooom. Should also open up the box of Lindt chocolate batons filled with pear, plum and cherry liqueurs.
We have rain for the first time in weeks, so we might stay home today and clean stuff and putter around the house. Hubby has an appointment to get fitted with a 24 hour blood pressure monitor, so they might have some instructions about activities. The doctor doesn’t want to prescribe medicine if it’s not really necessary, so this is the last test before making the decision.
Work is being really stressful, and it’s probably not going to get better fast. At least the government is promising vaccines for everybody who wants them until the end of July. That’ll do.
Happy Saturday!
Morning all.
The sun’s out this morning, due to cloud over shortly, with no rain due today, so proper walkies shall be achieved inna bit.
Aside from that, I think I shall be defilthifying the room a bit, and that’s about it. I did sufficient adulting yesterday, sorting the car insurance out.
I’ve kept in vague touch with a few old skool mates, and am still good friends with one (the person who helped me move, in fact). Aside from that, there are very few I have any interest in, and I doubt any of the interesting ones would show up at a reunion. Luckily if there have been any reunions, I’ve not been invited. Being one of the weird goth-type group will do that.
I think that having the internet, with its assorted easy ways to keep in touch, has killed off, or at least mortally wounded, the school reunion business- for those who had internet from school age anyway. We don’t need to be curious about how people are doing, it’s too easy to find out.
I think I had a fairly decent sleep, even without Mel. I was already under the covers when I realized I forgot him, and I wasn’t about to get up. I did wake once, but fell back to sleep pretty quickly and I made it till a bit after 5. So far, I’ve showered and dressed, tended the critters, breakfasted, and started the ice maker. Caffeination continues.
Before daughter arrives and we head north, I need to clean the cat box and the critter fountain, then throw together a green bean side dish so I’ll have some veggie matter to eat at Mom’s. Her meals tend to be heavy on proteins and starches, and the only green she’s planned is spareguts, which I don’t like. ick. I’ve also got some fresh pineapple in the fridge that I may take along. And all this needs to be done in the next 2 hours. So why am I sitting here???
Oh, right, because you need to know all these things. And because I need to sit quietly for a bit before taking my blood pressure.
Happy Saturday!
