It's the MDMMP!! (Memorial Day Monday Morning Post...Fool!)

Hey everyone. I know I haven’t posted today, because I’ve been busy PACKING. That’s right. Tomorrow morning I board an 11:15 am flight out of Newark airport bound for Atlanta, Georgia, and then for Panama City, Florida. It’s going to be weird. Completely different culture, almost. I’ll still have internet access of course, so none of you will have to go so much as a day without my sparkling online presence, or my puns. Speaking of which …

Weapons continue with this sharp-witted pun.

Rebo, I’m glad the virus count is down. You keep up with those treatments, hear? Can’t have you getting sick. Drae, you too.

swampy, sounds like you’re having a grand old time. Keep up the good work.

The only time I saw street hookers that I recognised as street hookers was in DC, ironically the same trip as the one here I pulled the knife on the panhander. Across the street fom the hotelI was in, wimmin in the stereotypical fishnet stockings and the rest of the garb would appear on the corners starting about an hour after sundown.

One of them even tried to drum up a little business with me one night.

Sayz she: “Looking for a little excitement?”

Sayz me: “Honey, not if you were shrink wrapped.”

<sigh> I’m better. No, I am not anything related to menstrual–and I really hate that classification. I am somewhat depressed and more than a little fed up with home life at present, and while I am going to get a degree that I want, I still have to fund it with a job I hate. I know, I know–cry me a river…

I spent the afternoon gardening and napping on the porch swing–2 things bound to make anyone feel better about life in general, at least. Plus, the sky got all black and stormy and then it blew away. No doubt IN is being innundated with hail or rain or both, but we were spared for the first time in several days. Yay.
I moved some hosta around, planted some salvia and plaited some of my daffodills (they keep drooping into the pond and making it scummy). I did no painting(Monday), but did run 3 hours worth of errands this morning. A productive day, all told.

taxi -I like your kitty. I like her better than my kitty, who is a PIA and just bugs me all day for more food. Seriously, this cat is not much of a pet. Next time, I will choose more wisely from the Humane Society, and NOT get the cat extending its paw through the cage. Simon (the cat) talks alot (must be part Siamese) and basically bitches at me all day. This I need.

Selling or buying a house is so stressful-remind me never to move.

MBG --that is really, well… My god, I can only imagine where they would end up, if our busdrivers did that… for good measure.

Aw, rigs, I was just trying to humor you a little. Perhaps it was in bad taste; I apologize. I did say this statement usually gets my husband slapped, remember? At any rate, I hope things improve for you very soon.

Work has been frustrating for me today. I can’t get a pivot chart to work the way I want it to. It should be easy, but I’m overthinking things again. Or, maybe I’m not. At any rate, I’m sick of looking at it.

Swampy, watchew you doing lookin’ at wimmens anyway? :dubious: Certainly, those type of women have no sense of style, much less self-esteem, so I’m sure you’re not looking at them for fashion guidance or anything.

MBG, your fired driver reminds of that bus driver guy on “The Simpsons”. Sigh, perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised at his stupidity, but, well, dang, that was STUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPID. What was in his coffee, hm?

I’ve received a severe weather warning here at work. Apparently, there will be severe lightning storms tonight. I think they’re cool, so if I’m not passed out sleeping, perhaps I’ll watch.

We had a 28 car pile-up right near my work around lunchtime. It shut down southbound I-5 for several hours. A severe rain squall is what started it. Apparently, an RV hit a wet patch and started skidding around and losing control. From there, it was just a chain reaction. I guess there was a serious injury, but the rest were minor. After seeing some of the pictures, I don’t know how someone wasn’t killed.

Well, almost time to go home. Thank goodness. I’ve got a serious case of the “Yawns”.

Sorry, Taters --I’m just in a funk and see no way out at present. I’m being oversensitive.
Rebo -that is great news re the viral load. Kill, kill, kill!

I saw a hooker on my way to work once this year. It was a Sunday morning, and I saw this woman, dressed in a slinky, clingy dress (she looked like hell) and messy hair, walking out of this one motel parking lot. This was in an area that really isn’t set up for pedestrians. I was the only car on the road (this was 6am on a Sunday)–and as I drove by, I thought–that’s a hooker! I felt like a tourist.
Off to shower and get into jammies. 0500 comes mighty early.

Golly, I’m late checking in today - hope no one was fretting…

As soon as I got home from work, we loaded the trash and recycling in to the van and disposed of it. Then we picked up some meds at the pharmacy, ran to Lowe’s for some electrical stuff for my kiln, then stopped for a quick dinner before coming home. Once back here, I trimmed my pots and put on handles so I can take them to be fired tomorrow. FCD started putting up conduit for the kiln wiring, and the sky opened!!

Rain has stopped, and we’re in the evening TV/computer mode. I’m having a glass of medicinal wine - it should help me sleep. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

eleanor, I really did not mean to offend or hurt you in any way; or make light of your situation. I hope you know this. I really am sorry you’re having such a rough time. Sometimes it really seems like life piles it all on at once, doesn’t it? I’ve had my bouts of depression too. You know we’re always here to vent to.

The kiddos are on their own for dinner tonight. The hubby is full from a big feed they had for a departing co-worker. I told them they can make whatever they want. I may have some soft-boiled eggs chopped up on toast. Actually, it sounds very good about now.

We don’t have any real plans for the weekend; well none that I’m aware of. I think (I really, really, really, really hope), that we’ll putter around the house and yard this weekend.

Dolores, I forgot to say this earlier. I’m glad the treatments are working, especially in light of what you went through to even get this regimen started. I hope it all continues to go well.

Drae, I’m glad to hear you’re doing better too. You know what pretty much cured me endometriosis? Having kids. Yeah, I still have some rough times, but nothing compared to before I had kids. Better get working on finding yourself a hubby and kids.

Well, that’s all I’ve got for now.

Hi everyone! Long long day, then some phone calls, some errands. Now I’m watching a movie (Rumor has it) and thinking about folding laundry. (That’s about the extent of my thinking power right now.)

Yay, Rebo! Glad the treatments are working. Nice to hear all the positive health news.

Wow, MBG that’s some amazing brand of stupid you had to deal with!

Cheer up, rigs! You gotta get through this - we’re counting on lots of library school stories!

I’m tired… At least it’s the weekend.

My computer is going to live!!! I heard from the technition, it was just the power source. Good thing too, this one is so slow it take a whole second to switch tabs in Firefox.

For the record, I’m tired of these coughing fits. I want to sleep through the night undisturbed. Is that too much to ask? Stoopit cough.

So, Shibb, did you meet up with swampy? Ain’t he the bees knees?

I’m about to hop into the shower, then head out to class - today is the first of our 2 glazing days. Next Sat is the last class of this session, and I won’t be going back till Sept. But since I have my own wheel and kiln, I can still play. YAY! So on that note, I’m off to get clean and get on the road. Happy Saturday Morning, all!!!

I’ve been up for a while folding laundry and getting ready to go laminate container labels, affix them to stakes and place them in the appropriate containers. Had to go back through last year and check all of them because we had some that had been placed in containers that definitely didn’t have the plants that were on the labels. I think some people musta got distracted. Then it’s back home to…what else?..the garden. Unless it’s raining.

:: goes to Florida ::

I’ve been awake-ish since 7am - out of bed since 8 - now I’m actually going to get dressed. The weather i yucky today, but I have a 10:30 appointment (passage of time while posting and pausing to think about this) - heh - which I just blew off because the skies just turned black and opened up. Besides I have enough to do around here. I have stacks of mail to paw through, and some PR stuff for the chorus. Right now, I think I’ll play some poker (and probably lose) then go back to sleep for a while.

Bye, Spats! Have a good time! Don’t drink too much and don’t get eaten by alligators!

I am eating breakfast before work. I am working till 9:30 tonight. The first half shouldn’t be too bad, but I may strangle and irritating co-worker during the second half. See you all tomorrow.

Good morning! Yay for Saturdays!

We’re going out later to buy a patio furniture set. Tom’s in the attic doing, um, stuff. Like wiring and cable stuff.

Thanks for all the good thoughts, guys. It sure would be cool if we could have a big MMP Dopefest. I’d love to meet you guys in person!

Good morning all.

I woke up from some very strange dreams. I don’t remember them now, but I woke up going, "What the hell was that?!"

Spats, have a good trip. Make sure the big-ass bugs down there don’t carry you off.

Rebo, it would be very awesome if we could have a MMP Dopefest. However, since we’re all stretched out all over the country, I don’t think that will ever happen. Well, unless one of us become INSANELY rich and flies the rest of us to one central location.

Hubby is going to finish edging the yard with the EdgeHog, shovel, and wheedwacker. Then he’ll head off to the dump to dump the yard waste recycle bin and cut sod from the edging. I guess I’ll do some more weeding today.

I’m still tired dammit! I should have slept some more.

More stuff added to my “to-do” list today.

I need to drive my daughter down to Red Robin to meet some friends. One of her friends is celebrating getting through her SATs, so they’re all going to get together.

After I drop her off, I need to drive down to the dealership to pick up my permanent license plates and car registration. Then, to the post office. After that, back to weeding.

If the skies don’t open up, I think we’ll grill dinner again tonight. I have some nice chicken breasts that would probably be very nice.

FCM I’m meetin’ up with Shibb and others tonight. Sounds like there’ll be at least four of us. That’s good.

Ok, off to explore more of Ybor City. Have a safe trip Spats!

Taters, I read “wedding” where you said “weeding.” Got confused for a second.

Hope Spats is having a safe, non-delayed trip. My friend’s son is on his way to New York today and has already experienced a delay and then a cancellation and re-route.

Back from the great labeling adventure. It was fun because I got to see pretty much all of the containers that our group planted and actually had to pay attention to exactly what was in each pot. Went pretty smoothly - we’re missing a few labels, but otherwise things seemed OK.

Hope swampy and Shibb have a nice Dopefest tonight. One of us really does need to become insanely wealthy and facilitate an MMPfest. (Is that part of the retirement package?)

Now I need to go buy more potting soil and then finish off containers. There are supposed to be scattered showers this afternoon, but I should be able to get some stuff done. If nothing else, I can finish planting containers in the garage.

::Goes off to Lowe’s::

Of all the places he could have taken a detour to, McD’s is probably one of the better choices, at least. Just think if he’d stopped off at a liquor store for them so they could pick up a fifth and a pack of smokes.

I’ve got a vivid image of the house Bobbio passed on. Sounds like some of the houses I looked at last year. I can fix ugly, but I really wasn’t in a mood to buy disintegrating or dangerous. It was startling to see two of the nine or so houses we looked at one day still had two 15-amp fuses for the whole house. Another house had a Federal Pacific breaker panel. I saw that and said “uh-uh!” I think they’re the only brand of breakers to ever lose their UL listing thanks to all of the fires they’ve caused.
