It's Time Again for Stoid!

Overdone, stale insults are overdone, stale insults. Makes you look like that dude in theater laughing his ass off at 60+ year old Laurel & Hardy comedy. Ends up that he’s funnier than Laurel & Hardy ever were.

Shut up Morontard

This thread seems apposite.

Shodan

Nah, this is the Straight Dope, where stale, worn-out catch-phrases crawl off to die. “Shut up, Big Tard” has another ten good years in it, easy. Then Iron Man pooped in his armour and everyone laughed and went home.

Are we lining up to take sides here? Put me on the side of whatever cray Stoid may harbor, I find no reason to believe she was abusing her dogs or seeking drugs, and I am sorry her dog is dead.

No, she was abusing drugs and seeking dogs.

Regards,
Shodan

I thought she was drugging dogs and seeking abuse.

Put me down for:

  1. Stoid really was trying to take good care of her dog and not seeking for drugs to abuse herself. I’m sorry her dog is dead.
  2. However, she really did go “full Stoid” on the vet with her “YOU NEED TO BE GIVING MY DOG THE DRUGS AND I CAN PROVE IT!!!” schtick, which probably completely convinced the vet that she actually was a crazy drug seeker.
  3. “Shut up, BigTard” is a perfectly good response and is nowhere near being tired out.

Her story attempting to illustrate that drug sharing is so commonplace that the cops look the other way is laughable. Ok, so the cops apparently saw you spill a purse full of syringes. So what? It’s not illegal to have syringes, or to accidentally spill them all over the sidewalk. Many people have legitimate reasons to carry syringes around and it doesn’t make cops automatically assume something illicit is happening. It’s not like the cops went, “oh, check it out, that lady’s brought over her dog’s ass medicine* to share with the distraught people, let’s just look the other way…” They probably just thought, “what a klutz. If I pretend I didn’t see that I won’t have to help her pick those up.”

*yes, I know it’s not actually dog medicine, and it’s especially not dog “ass medicine” but it’s much, much funnier to describe it that way.

In general, abused drugs don’t come in prepackaged syringes. Oh, maybe on occasion ( and what do I know, I didn’t know that Valium came in ass syringes until today.) but I still think that any cop that saw a prepackaged syringe would likely be thinking insulin or Epi-pen - not controlled dog ass substances.

Although this thread
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=16639824#post16639824
goes into a huge tangent in which Stoid sings the praises of ass drugs in general…“Weeeeeeeeee”. I don’t really get it but what do I know, I’m just laughably innocent and not nearly as sophisticated as she is.

Yes, and I agree that dog ass medicine is total comedy gold.

No, she was dogging abuse and drugging Sikhs.

For the win!

Were I a medical type, someone with drug seeking behavior requesting drugs for another animal or human wouldn’t get them on the grounds that the other being would likely derive no benefit from said drug. Absolutely not worth risking a license for.

Oh, she pretty quickly annoyed me in a thread in which I felt (and still feel) very bad for her, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she said something stupid to her vet, but all this Stoid hoards dogs so she can score crack silliness is silly. Feel free to pit her for being, you know, Stoid-y.

Put her on Ignore!!?

And miss all the fun?

I mean, come on! There are damned few people who can spin drug-seeking and drug sharing as the responsible, grown-up thing everybody does.
And the 'I know more about law than everybody else in the courtroom combined!!! shtick is pure gold!

Anybody want to haul me into court is going to have to fight GOOGLE!

(did she ever find Black’s?)

.

Yeah, this

I’ve had umpteen interactions with Stoid being stoid-y, and find her mostly an insufferable pain in the arse re dogs especially, but this pitting ain’t warranted in the least.

Just to interject some reality into the subject I am posting although I have not posted in about a year.

Stoid and I know each other in real life. She and I are neighbors and friends.

I also know the veterinarian.

Stoid is not a drug user/ abuser. She did have to put down her beloved dog. I saw the dog with continual seizures, both unconscious and with dimished consciousness.

Valium is the protocol for status epilepsis or whatever it is called. I haven’t a clue why it was not prescribed the first time around.

Stoid does not hoard dogs, period.

This is a very mean spirited thead that has absolutely no basis in reality, except maybe to give some people a moment’s entertainment.

Thanks, Coco.

I knew this thread existed but I hadn’t read it. (I generally don’t read or participate in pit threads about me.) Coco told me I should because I was getting a surprising amount of support. Or at least, lack of enthusiasm from the audience for this as a pitting topic. And she was right.

Thanks to all who didn’t climb on board this (really rather strange…) Pit Stoid thread. (and of course to those who expressed genuine sympathy for my loss. It is valued.) As Coco confirmed, everything happened jut as I said. And while I haven’t spent much time talking about it, it was absolutely horrible. I’m glad so many of you know that whatever else, I do very much love my dogs. They are my family, truly, since I don’t have a partner or children. They are precious to me. Zusje was precious to me, and the two days I spent trying to save her from dying was ugly and agonizing, and now her absence is extremely painful.

That anyone could convince themselves that I had made it a point to find a dog I could use to get drugs is bizarre, but only within the context of said person actually knowing me in even the slightest way, and that’s not the case.

Anyway. Zusje’s gone, I’m actively looking to foster, Preston and I are biking which is great, Coco has a new dog that Preston might get to hang with, and grief is just the price I pay for the incredible joy of dogs in my life, and by comparison it’s a pittance.

I was warned that I was courting disaster; that Stoid’s legions of fans would tear me a new one.

Stoid - your support may have been over-estimated; it seems the closest to support is:
This pitting is unwarranted”.

As stated in OP (for those with reading comprehension/retention ‘challenges’), the question was intended for your ‘the vet killed my dog’ thread. It was placed here so as to avoid undue Moderator attention.

Does ‘Coco’ always immediately precede you?

?? Has Coco ever posted immediately prior to Stoid before?

:dubious: Really? You’re dissing me by paraphrasing exactly the observation I made myself in the post immediately preceding yours? Oy vey…
