We’re…[del]weird[/del] mysterious, flytrap. Also, we like nicknames.
Have run errands, gone to the bookstore, Whole Foods and to the art museum (it’s the annual floral design exhibit that I really really like this weekend). It was cool.
As of two minutes ago I have officially turned in ALL of my homework for this semester. There’s one more week of classes and one final left and I’m done! (Until summer school)
Had a rare lunch with the whole fam at our local Mexican eatery - Mi Guadalajara. I had the machaca. As usual, there will be no more eating until lunch tomorrow.
DH tried to kill me today. For breakfast, I had some coffee and donuts. A couple hours later, I had a headache that was a dull throb.
Mid afternoon, he asked me what I thought of the coffee we had for breakfast. Um, tasted like coffee, I said. He reveals that it was decaf. DECAF?! Ah, that explains the headache I’ve been having…
Soon as we were home, I made some real coffee in the French press.
102 degrees today. It’s the first day of the year that is over a hundred, but it is more than a month earlier than usual to hit the over-100 mark. And of course it was on a day that I had to spend most of the day outside at 2 track meets and a baseball game.
Someone transport me to northern Alaska for a little while.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 75 and possibly rain though not as much of a possibility as yestiddy’s prediction was for today.
Yay for done homework StickyBuns!
PV, we gotta work on a nickname for ya, where are you that it’s so hawt already? Also, some parts of the northeast or is that still midwesty are gettin’ hit with some snow. Weather be weird!
gotti DH made decaf!!! He must be punished for that you know.
Now I must seek out more caffiene and soon consider some brekkie. Purtification for deheathenization must also commence.
Good morning! No snow here, but we’ve been getting some nice volumes of rain - I can tell by the size of the big puddle in our driveway. We’ve got a low spot in the concrete and when it’s rained a lot, the spot becomes a pool that spans the width of the drive and varies from 3 to 8’ along the length. At the moment, it’s maxed. Plus I woke a few times during the night and heard it rain. And from the looks of the weather radar, swampy’s gulf rain will be upon us most of today.
I saw where Phoenix was supposed to be in triple digits - is that where you be, Palo??
We were both pretty pooped last night - we were watching TV in bed a bit after 9, and I’m pretty sure I was gone by 9:30. I decided to drag myself out of bed about 7, but my sweetie is still zonked out. The cats, on the other hand, are hissing and scratching behind me. Taz is the instigator, of course. Ziva, on the other hand, left me a gift of horked hairballs in the middle of the floor. Good morning to me. blech.
Today’s main chore will be some laundry, since both of our baskets are overflowing. I might mess around in my studio for a while, too. And the dishwasher needs to be emptied. But first, I’m starving - wonder if my sleeping spousal unit will want to go out for breakfast or if he’ll just forage in the pantry. I’m too nice to wake him and ask him, dammit. But I’s hongree!!!
Today I’ve got a small show in honor of Earth Day due to the recyclable nature of my craft. After that it’s game day with the Sweet Avenger and friends. Yay!
It’s been a long damn week. Irk called yesterday and asked me if I wanted 4 hours of overtime today. I declared I Have Plans (I don’t) because I need a mental health day after having to deal with Big Boss being a pissy bitch and changing policies on me at the last second on Thursday. If the fire board testing guy hadn’t been there and hadn’t been such a good sport it might have gotten ugly.
So I offer rosie’s sig to all and my own sig since I don’t trot it out enough.
My sweetie woke at 8, and we were at breakfast by 9. It’s been raining pretty steadily, and it’s cold and ick out - low 50s with a little wind, made worse by the wet. Perfect day for staying warm and dry indoors. I almost feel like stoking up a fire, but really, it sounds too much like work.
**doggio **- I think **greenie **is an excellent nickname! But I refuse to accept your filthy unmentionables.
We had a great time with our friends yesterday afternoon and evening. My daughter and her sweetie came down last night and stayed the night. Today, he plans on using the smoker to smoke some meat.
I just want to hang out and work in the yard. I hope I get to do that.
**rosie **- we’re not done with the rain yet, but we’ll be sending it your way… eventually…
Second Sunday in a row, we had a well scare. **FCD **was rinsing some filtercloth and the water just stopped. He futzed with the relay and assorted switches and circuit breakers. Then all on its own, the well started pumping. I don’t know if it’s a sign of troubles, but I’ll be calling a local well company tomorrow to figure out what the problem might be. A new well could cost $10K. Yeah, right when we’re about to retire our last debt (except for the mortgage)
Is that the pressure switch that turns the motor on and off?
I used to replace it annually because of ants killing themselves inside it until I sealed it up with silicone. It went unused for some time, and I had to whack it once.
I’m in Tucson, which is a nice city but the weather is horrendous. I can’t believe many people move here for the climate. We will be over 100 well into October which make 7 months of 3 digit temperatures. Blech.
