Since I haven’t convinced any of you to shoot me to save me from SQHell, can I talk someone into a road trip to Virginia Beach for a little kidnapping instead?
The Boring, it buuuuuuurrrns…

I hear that for every minute you space out or surf the Net trying to avoid SQL, they add that time on to the end of the program…
I have lost my touch with making cookies. They just flatten out on the sheet and get so thin. I think maybe my baking soda is too old (?). Oh, well, they taste good.
Whatever it is, I donwanna do it.
The Faire is over, and it’s no longer our Faire. We packed up all of our stuff and headed home yesterday afternoon. Now our living room and garage are temporarily clogged up with Faire stuff that needs to be sorted, cleaned and packed quickly, as it’s in the way of everything else that needs to be sorted and packed.
Speaking of which, we’re getting short on time. The first POD is being delivered in two weeks. Once we start loading it, we’ll have a better idea of if we’ll need a second one or not. We’re hoping not, as they’re expensive.
Still trying to hammer out the details of a place to move to. The house we really want has some issues involving a young guy as the sole tenant, but there are as many as five other people who are technically squatters, and they’ve been a hassle for the property owner all along - they apparently needed to borrow money from the owner to open an account with the electric company. There have been some other insanities and I’d expect one way or another, these people will be appearing either on Judge Judy or *COPS *within a year. The owner is trying to get rid of them so we can move in.
Howdy Y’all! One down and four to go!
rigs I didn’t read the facebook stuff cause, well, I don’t do facebook but, based on what I’ve read about bro and TH here and in your thread, I vote for delusional and a heapin’ helpin’ of STFU.
BBBobbio I have no idea why you are in trainin’ about squirrels but I couldn’t shoot ya cause I likes ya too much.
lieu the goat was there cause it’s a fraternity. That’s all the explanation ever needed.
gotti maybe it’ll be a special episode of Cops meets Judge Judy.
Dindin tonight shall be salmon patties, english peas and smashed N.O.T..
Well, strike makin’ dindin. OYKW has gone all butch on me again and called to inform me to be ready at five o’clock to be taken to dindin at the local good seafood place. I have been ordered. What choice do I have?
Take your punishment like a good teddy, that’s our swampy…
I painted the future aquarium wall. Second coat will go on in a couple of hours. It’s a very neutral beigy color, so we’ll have to jazz to room up with upholstery and curtains and throw pillows. We can do that.
Tuna steaks for supper, with some sides that I’ll pick out soon.
I got a letter of appreciation today. From the super hot project that I worked on - weekends, nights, lots of stress. rah. But if I decorate our office door for Halloween and it wins, I get time off. How’s that for a screwed up system??
Good thing I love my job.
I can haz Firday??
Daughter’s care package is off, as is the $500 Rosetta Stone Learn German At Home Kit TH ordered. He knows I am returning it. If only I could return… never mind.
Am starting to think of me moving out, instead of him. God, I hate to lose my home. Must mindfuck this for a long time.
Off to make dinner soon. #2 son is home with a sore throat. Dunno about tomorrow. Good news is he moved UP in English and Reading–yay! He is now [del]with the smart kids[/del] where he belongs, but is too lazy to do. Let’s hope he does well.
Jeebus,** FCM**–I’d pull out all the stops and decorate the hell out of it. That is really messed up.
What kind of people schedule conference calls from 5pm onwards? The kind of people I work for, that’s who.
On the bright side, it gave me an excuse to sneak out of the office a little early so I could call in from home. And now that the call has wrapped up, I think Ima make some toffee apple muffins… the only question is whether I should use walnuts (because I have some on hand) or pecans (which would probably taste better, but would also require a trip to the store as I’m all out).
The moral of the story is that my life is full of nuts, but sadly lacking in pecans. Woe is me.
Flat cookies means you don’t have enough flahr in them. Baking soda doesn’t go stale, but baking powder does.
Home, thank Og. Dunno what I’m making for dinner. Might have more of that fish. Gotta use the lemon up, after all. I really don’t feel like going out. I’m still getting over the cold and I still cough up a fit whenever I transition from the chill air outside to the warm air inside.
Buncha Blu Ray movies showed up at the door today, which is cool. Now we got some movies to watch over the next week or two. Get to watch Blade Runner in all its hi-def glory. Woo!
Also, this weekend I gotta buy Windows 7, build my new system and build a second system for the wife out of the old parts and some new ones. That means I get my Macbook back so I can finally get serious about iPhone development 'cos I can hook it back up on my desktop where the main computer is and switch between the Macbook and the PC via KVM. Yes, I’m lazy.
Or use more shortening and less butter. Butter melts faster causing flat cookies and shortening melts slower, letting them rise.
**rigs **- I’m decorating challenged. I know what I like when I see it, but I can’t look at a room and see how it should be. I rely on **FCD **for that, with veto power. We seem to be mostly on the same page with it, so that’s good. The only issue I see - he wants a couch, and I’d rather have multiple chairs. With a big ottoman. And new lamps. And something over the window.
Right now I’m trying to decide how to do a window seat under this window. The TV has to sit in the corner where the brown chair is, so I can’t do the built-ins I was thinking about. I’ve been trying to find ideas on line, but I have yet to see anything I like, much less love. We’ll figger it out.
Supper was good. I put a second coat of paint on the wall, and in a little while, I’ll run the carpet cleaner where the stand will go. Then tomorrow, we can move it into place. Whew, things are happening fast!! Too bad I’m so busy - I’d like to make cookies myself…
Howdy, folks!
It’s been a long day, but fortunately I did sneak a nap in there somewhere. Now I’m just getting ready to start working on tomorrow’s paperwork. Not really much else to say…
pugs - I found this via google
Mmm. Dinner was pulled pork sammiches, sweet potato casserole, and leftover scalloped potatoes from yesterday.
Four days till short vacation!
FCM–I meant decorate the hell out of the office for Halloween! I’m sure your home is just fine (you took out that bathroom–that’s evidence enough for me).
Dinner was pork roast, rice and mixed veggies. #2 son is now a dripping faucet o’ mucus. Pleasant. No fever, though. I am already in my jammies, hoping to sleep tonight. I tend to sleep every other at present.
Aside from all the other good advice so far, rigs… try might also want to chill the dough before baking. It doesn’t spread as much if it’s had a chance to sit in the fridge for an hour or two first.
Not sure what to have for din dins. I just pulled some Toffee Apple Cupcakes from the oven, but I don’t think they qualify as a nutritious dinner, despite the fact that they do contain real fruit.
Crikey–I didn’t do that this time. I usually DO refrigerate the dough. :smack:
I don’t use shortening in my cookies, btw, only unsalted butter. They still taste good. Here, have one! <slides flat cookie into CD thingie>
Oh, and GT–remember my puter problem with that one program at work? It crashed on me last week and it took IT and IS guys 2 days to fix it. They had to make me an administrator a few times (whatever that means), resurrect the retired librarian’s user profile, access another library in the system that uses the same program and reboot more than a few times. And it all came down to a “temporary” file that hadn’t been downloaded the first time around. Now ALL my bells and whistles from 1989 work(that is an estimate; it may well be older than that!). I am a happy librarian, but in pricing out online catalog systems, I am discouraged by the cost (not in the budget at all for this year).
You don’t have to kill me; just enough to put me in the hospital. Otherwise, I face SQHell 3 more times this week. C’mon, be a pal, duuuude.
