First episode of season 3 aired last night (04/04.) It was a bit hard going for me trying to remember the dangling plot lines since it has been only a few days short of a year since the last of season 2 aired. The preview for episode 2 looks good, though.
I’ve completely forgotten what happened between Blaine and Peyton. And the recap at the start of the episode didn’t make any mention of it. I know Blaine was informing Peyton about Mr Boss’s activities when he got amnesia, and then…?
The new boss-zombie’s plan for constructing a zombie hideout seems smart. Although it seems that Montana would be better place for zombie-survivalists rather than the Pacific Northwest.
Yeah, a kind of slow let’s unpack what happened in the Season 2 finale (which was epic) type of episode. But we kind of needed that. And now with the zombie campus and someone targeting zombies, lots of interesting potential storylines.
I’ll check it out tonight. Glad it is back. Hope it comes back for season 4!
I had/have SO forgotten whatever happened with Mr. Boss.
So what ongoing storylines are there…
(1) The zombie corporation, now featuring Blaine. Are they Evil?
(2) Whoever killed the zombie family
(3) Mr. Boss
(4) Don E and Blaine’s Father
(5)The Cure, and whether Major is about to die
I feel like I’m forgetting a few.
There’s the Max Rager storyline, which I think has been subsumed by the zombie corporation. But the zombie daughter Gilda/Rita may still be out there, assuming she hasn’t gone full Romero.
Nope, she’s dead, Jim. (End of episode.)
What happened at the end? I thought they didn’t want to tell the zombie leader woman about the hate-crime murder of the kid and his parents, but then it looked like Liv went and talked to her anyway.
you have it backwards -
The hate crime convinced Clive that people cannot handle the truth of Zomibes - liv (or someone) told zombieleader - who was clearly upset by the news - then Liv met with her to tell her they were ‘in’.
I assume the images that Peyton got were of that crime scene -
And Major got a job.
Oh, so Liv went to tell her they were getting on board with her “Zombie Island” plan. OK. … but wait, then why did she seem so shocked and possibly disturbed that Major was working there?
I took that as more suprise then disturbed - we’ll find out next week!
I found the first episode confusing. 12 months between episodes is too much for me.
I loved Ravi slowly sliding the trashcan over for her to vomit in, though.
I totally missed this thread.
Peyton is now a regular instead of a featured character.
Blaine was going to testify against Mr Boss, and Peyton and Blaine slept together (Peyton did not know Blaine was a bad guy – she only knew he was being brave).
I don’t remember when she found out about zombies, more likely it was after (she was upset when he “forgot” until she found out he was not faking)
Ravi is/was understandably upset that Peyton slept with Blaine, but has been a total jerk since and almost ruined any chances he has with Peyton
If the memory drug works, it will be interesting to see what happens with Blaine/Peyton. If it does not, it will make Major’s situation more tragic.

I find the Peyton/Blaine thing kinda oogy. There’s just no chemistry between them. Especially as Blaine still isn’t all there.
Peyton found out about zombies, and specifically that Liv was a zombie, at the end of Season 1. She was justifiably freaked and skipped town for a bit, hence the disappearing act during the first half of Season 2. (In reality, Aly Michalka had left to do a pilot for another show and the producers weren’t sure she’d be available. When that show wasn’t picked up they invited her back.)
This is a fun little show. The characters are solid, and the whole memory-absorbing thing gives it an unlimited dimension to build on top of the standard crime procedural framework. I vaguely sort of remember being interested in the concept when it first came out, but it wasn’t until last summer that I actually got into it through Netflix. It feels kind of weird, after having plowed through the first couple of seasons as fast as I wanted, to be on the slow path these days. But I’d rather be current and be able to participate in threads that haven’t long since, uh, zombified.
Season 2 of this show was one of my favorite sessions of TV in recent memory.
I’m having some problems with this season though, and I hope they resolve them soon.
- Ravi. When did he turn into a dick? He whiny and awful.
- they seem to have just dropped the Payton is an alcoholic storyline. Payton is similarly awful. I liked her better when she was a more minor character.
- Blaine is solely responsible for everything bad in Liv’s life, including killing 2 of her boyfriends. She, and everyone, is being a little too cool with reformed Blaine.
- why is it the Ravi Payton show all of a sudden? The last two episodes it felt like Liv was a token character.
- Liv and Major’s relationship, right now, makes no sense to me.
he upcoming Zombie Human War is an amazing idea and I wish they would spend more time developing that and less time focusing on the nonsense with the side characters. Maybe it’s because I got burned by Veronica Mars season 3, but I am worried that it feels like there isn’t a plan anymore and they are just making stuff up as they go along.
I am not a big Major/Liv fan, but I did get some feels with thier last moments.

iZombie certainly has a way of shaking things up in the season finale(s).
I was watching live but recorded in case I wanted to rewatch. My DVR froze (the live video and the recording) just after Ravi game himself the test cure. I’m guessing I didn’t miss much.
Brian
Yep, another up-shaking season finale. Here’s hoping for more seasons, and even more Veronica Mars cast members added to the roster. What is Wallace up to these days?
Oh, and Ravi convinced Liv to scratch him to test the vaccine, the shot faded to black, Ravi made a fake growl, Live said “Don’t be a dick.” Roll credits.
