Izzard in the 'Burgh

Saw mr Izzard here last night. Good but not great. I was impressed, however, that most of his material was new, at least to me. Any one else see him on this tour? What’d you think?

I was going to get tickets for myself and the wife, but then remembered that she didn’t particularly care for “Circle”, so I figured better safe than sorry.

I have watched Circle, Dressed to Kill, and listened to most of… uh… I think Definite Article. Dressed to Kill was far and beyond the best, but I enjoyed the others as well.

If you’ve seen/heard other Izzard, where would you have placed it?

Like definite Article, but slightly less clever and way more mumbly.
He lost some of the crowd with “there is no God” , which was a theme, such as there are themes in his shows. Couple of very funny moments though.

We have tickets, but he’s not here until August. I’m glad to know there’s new material.

I saw him 2 or 3 years ago in Seattle…it was after “Sexie” but I can’t remember the name…

He was hilarious and I was in painful tears of laughter. I never knew how much my face could hurt after grinning for two hours. He was really on form and working the audience very well.

Nitpick: it’s Dress to Kill.

Himself & I saw him here in Indy at the beginning of the month. Awesome. The man is brilliant.

The only issue we had (other than his losing some of the crowd (although not us) here, too, with the “there is no god” thing) was that the sound guys weren’t doing great to start with and we missed a bit at the beginning until they got his mike tuned in correctly. He also messed with the stagehand on the follow spot who stopped paying attention. :smack:

Glad we spent the money to go see him, though - worth every penny!

Was just savoring his performance in “Across the Universe” yesterday.

Saw him here in Minneapolis last night. Definitely good (any Izzard is good), but not as funny as I’ve seen him before. (Maybe that’s a question of familiarity; I don’t know.) My stomach only ached from laughing in maybe 3 or 4 spots, as opposed to the last time I saw him where it hurt the whole way through.

Still worth every penny, though.
