I don’t know, nor do I particularly care, about any history you may have had with any other posters in this thread. All I have to say is that in this thread, you’ve made some incredibly hurtful remarks to Eve. And I think you do owe her a very profuse, sincere apology. I don’t know if there is history between you and Eve, but even if there was history, it would only provide the smallest of mitigating circumstances for what you said.
If there was no history, your words were simply inexcusable. Whatever happened, or didn’t happen, between you, gobear and others in the past are irrelevant because they aren’t involved. This isn’t even between you and Eve, its really about you. And whether you have the courage to be an adult and accept the consequences of your actions and admit that you were wrong here. And you have to show that contrition.

However your choice was between saying something which causes pain to another human being and refraining from saying that. There is no virtue in telling someone that their baby is the ugliest thing that you ever saw or telling a recent widow(er) that their spouse was a terrible human being and you were glad that they were dead. All these things might be the truth but when faced with a choice between causing pain for no reason and not causing pain, the better choice would be to not cause pain. The polite thing to have done was to have said nothing. I’m additionally surprised that neither you nor your husband realize this since you two claim that you’ll are being needlessly insulted and you don’t seem to like that. Do unto others and all that.

I hope you would apologize. Now, since you clothe yourselves with the mantle of Christianity, practice what you preach. You’ve been slapped. Why are you slapping back? They’ve taken your jacket. Give them your shirt. They want an apology? All you would have had to do was apologize to Eve. And then you could come back in here and laugh at how foolish all this vitriol is. Feel free to make the argument that you’re being unfairly persecuted, and you have every right to respond in kind. But then keep in mind that Jesus, whom you claim to worship and love, took persecution greater than you could ever imagine. Without a word against his tormentors.

But of course, from what I’ve seen here, I would have to wonder how sincere an apology you gave would be. And an insincere apology is just as bad, if not worse, than no apology at all.
