Pray for us! My mother appears to be falling for a doper and a Texan to boot! Now I’m not against Texas, but come on! My gentle, peacekeeping, snow-colored, Canadian mother together with a hat-wearing, sun-bronzed cowboy? What’s the world coming to?
Seriously though, my mother has apparently lassoed herself a cowboy!
See, Poysyn, gotta watch the way you talk about us cowboys. Arden knows.
And you’ve got it wrong. It’s the Texans that rope you Canadians. I think the cold weather makes them slow and easy to catch. Ask Zyada, she caught herself one.
Zyada, check this thread, I’m trying to make some plans.
Otherwise, it looks like I’ve roped me one, ain’t quite hogtied her yet, but gettin’ close.
I feel I held it in pretty long, geez, putting up with all the giggling for weeks now, enough, you two have been worse than teenagers! (nice to hear though)
I think you have it backwards. Winnipeg weather makes you fast, helps you outrun the polar bears
Gotta get you down here soon Jim B, don’t worry I’ll get you a parka, toque and mukluks, you’ll blend right in, provided you don’t say anything.
Arden Ranger, if only you knew how long I wanted to meet a cowboy myself, eventually gave up and now I’m marrying a good Canadian guy, he plays pond hockey and wears long johns in the winter!
Anyhoo, you all better take care of my mom down there, she’s not used to the Texas heat and does not carry a gun. Keep her out of the sun she’s pretty white and burns easily. Hopefully I’ll find my way down there for a visit some time soon.
Wooo Hoooo! I look forward to meeting Runadoc when she comes down to visit JimB. And girl, you’re gonna get lost in his beautiful blue eyes. You’re never gonna want to leave.
Maybe she meant a DALLAS Cowboy hat. Jim is certainly sun-bronzed.
Jim, how on earth did I miss this? have you been holding out on us?
[sub]BTW, Jim, big fella, when she said, “Well, I’ll be hogtied!” it was just an expression of surprise, not an admission of willingness.[/sub]
Poysyn, nobody EVER gets used to the Texas heat, even those of us who’ve lived here all our lives. fortunately, Dallas is the most extravagantly air-conditioned city in the free world. And anyway, we know enough to know that you Winnipegians don’t have to outrun the polar bears… you just have to run faster than the person next to you.
Arden Ranger, Zyada, Grace and Chef Troy, I look forward to meeting you all. I hear from Jim how important you all are to him and hope that you will become my friends as well. Actually Chef Troy I think poor Jim is as surprised as you are, but I will let him speak for himself. I only know as two “private” people we did not expect what’s transpired since our first email about milk, cookies and beer. I only know to me it became apparent very quickly that we had made an immediate connection. I don’t know if it will result in anything other than a great friendship, that we already have, I just know I owe to myself to find out.
Chef, did I forget to carbon you on the last hundred emails between us? You’re kidding! You really read them all haven’t you. Just trying to act surprised.
I really wish that DRY and Poysyn had had a chance to meet in LA. (I realize it isn’t quite the same thing, but even so…) Runadoc, I did meet your daughter by phone. INCREDIBLY cool person!
Thanks, DRY. Yep Poysyn’s cool. She’s already given me some inside tips about her mother.
Grace, she had missed the remarks about my eyes. I was going to use that for the coup de grace. But, even though she’s been warned, resistance is futile, anway.
And Poysyn, it may be difficult to get me up in that part of the world. Y’all probably wear more clothes in the summer than we do in the winter. (y’all do have summer, don’t you?) I own a coat, but the door to that closet’s been jammed for a couple of years and I haven’t gotten around to fixing it. I assume it’s still in there.
Jim - yes, we have summer, quite warm too. The biggest problem during summer is we have the biggest mosquitoes, you’d think the cold would kill them all off, nasty buggers are tough!
Hi Grace; Haven’t even seen his eyes yet. Too busy looking at all the rest of him…very nice!!! So I get all of this and gorgeous eyes too??? Oh yes he is a keeper;)
