Hmmm, right now I have no idea… I’ve had less and less of an idea each subsequent Day, it feels.
I like your idea for snfaulkner, sachertorte, switching vote from player to player to get a reaction. I’m not sure how effective it would be, but I’d love to see it anyway. I think players have been a bit complacent this game, I’d like to see something more confrontational during the end game.
Tactically, I think it was good for snfaulker to step back at the beginning of the day and let the three unconfirmed players have it out.
But once they had settled into their votes, it was time for snfaulkner to step in. As the only confirmed Town in the game, snfaulkner should be the one to decide who ultimately gets lynched. This is why I agree with HookerChemical. DeadCat’s switch is poorly motivated and hugely opportunistic for scum. It’s an attempt to take away the decision from snfaulker and let DeadCat decide who gets lynched. That’s terrible for Town!
snfaulker needs to choose. Hopefully he won’t be unduly swayed by there being two votes on HookerChemical. One of those could be scum!
Forgot that there was a bit of temprature in the game thread. Dead Cat got a bit catty, understandable considering the circumstances. I still think it points to something though, so maybe you’re right sachertorte.
There are three townies in the game. Why are we assuming snfaulkner is the right person to make this call? Just because he’s confirmed town? Sure he is, but why does that improve his judgement? It does mean he’s not actively trying to deceive us, but that doesn’t make him Solomon or anything. Two of the three others are town as well(unless JohnnyBravo is an evil mod[sup]TM[/sup]) and they’re slinging analysis all over the place. Why is their judgment objectively worse than snfaulkner’s? Because we, the unspoiled onlookers, don’t know which one of them to trust?
Biotop, Dead Cat, and HookerChemical are all making some pretty detailed cases at each other. Why should the two remaining townies(whoever they are) hang back and abdicate their judgment in favor of snfaulkner? He’s the one guaranteed(from our point of view) to not have a hidden agenda, but from each of those townies point of view they KNOW MORE THAN HE DOES because he only knows his status and they know his AND THEIRS.
Biotop(if town), knows the scum is either Dead Cat or HookerChemical. Even if he just flipped a coin, he’s 50/50. This is true of the other townie(whoever they are) as well. Either of the other two townies has a 50/50 shot of being right about the final wolf. snfaulkner is 33/67.
I’d argue that this game should be decided by anyone OTHER THAN snfaulkner. It gives you better odds of finding the wolf.
I haven’t been keeping up. Has anyone gone back to review Suburban’s posts now that we know he is scum? Aren’t there some of his posts that make Hooker look like scum?
Okay, to explain my dilemma about settling on a candidate: Both of the candidates that seem most likely scum to me are Dead Cat and HookerChemical. I’ve leaned town on Dead Cat most of the game, and I’ve been unsure about **Hooker **all game, but now I’m finding the case against Dead Cat pretty compelling. More than the case on Hooker. If **Biotop **is scum, he can have me for lunch next workDay.
Because if either of the two unknown townies is wrong, then the lynch will be wrong. While it is true that a Townie Biotop has a 50-50 shot at picking the correct lynch and snfaulkner only has a 33% shot at being right, the other townie also has to be correct.
If we play math, then that’s a 25% shot at both townies being right, which is less than snfaulker.
At least, that’s how I’m looking at the situation.
Another point about HookerChemical is I disagree with the general sentiment that Hooker Chemical’s defense or lack of support for ‘the case’ against Professor P is somehow and indicator of scumminess. I find it more likely that a townie would accidentally defend scum than actual scum intentionally defending scum.
On the flip side, I also put less stock on Biotop’s vote against Prof P early in the game. It’s a good point for him, but I feel it is being overly weighted. It’s easy to pick out scum when you already know who they are.
To be honest, I couldn’t care less for the math in this situation. **snfaulkner **is a confirmed town, and thus you can eliminate him from the equation. A free vote, who can hopefully stay close to objective, when deciding who among the bratty kids made a shit in the feeding tray, metaphorically speaking.
But the point is that he never actually defended Prof P. Like Mahaloth, he just said that he didn’t see the case on him. He did use a chainsaw defense on Dead Cat. So he did protect Prof P indirectly, by attacking his attacker.
But if I were snfaulkner, by now I’d have proclaimed myself King of Town and demanded that everyone else unvote. He could do that, and it would probably work. However, he doesn’t seem very power-hungry.
Well, **Biotop **is not the wolf. All he needed to do was to switch his vote to Dead Cat as soon as **snfaulkner **voted and the hammer rule would have gone into effect and Dead Cat would have been lynched.
The hammer rule is not instant. The votes have to be there for 24 consecutive hours. Since snfaulkner voted with less than 24 hours left in the Day, the hammer rule is moot.
Interesting idea that Dead Cat had for extending the Day. I hate last minute voting because it seems I’m never around when it’s going on. This game is ending today, right? We don’t really need to wait to see who Hooker NKs, just do the two coin flips.
