Jokes About Seducing My Sister Aren't Funny

OK, idiot, I tolerated you throughout the night, seeing as how you were invited to attend our Independence Day festivities by someone else. I put up with your endless comments about Star Wars and the Simpsons…hey, I like ‘em too, but even I can get my mind out of my parents’ basement now and then.

But you had to cross a line, and on the night we just met. We’re getting to go swimming after fireworks, and yes, we joked about how there should have been more women swimming with us so we wouldn’t look gay. And what’d you have to throw in?

“What about your sister? She’s legal.”

Fuck. Double fuck. I-curse-you-to-groin-beetles-fuck. This is my kid sister, and while she may look like another piece of meat to you, she’s flesh-and-blood to me. I don’t need some middle-aged punk with leftover cheetos stuck in his foot-long goatee even implying that he’d like my sister in the sack. Even if you’re joking, this was the wrong way to go, you attention-craving sack of crap. I wish you knew how bad it feels to be sized up like a piece of meat, but that spare tire of yours probably prevents that from ever happening. Eyes, hands, and lust-filled brain of my sister, you jackass.

Crap…I meant OFF my sister in that last sentence. Way to fuck up my own post. :frowning:

So, um… she is legal right? and single? sweet

all jokes aside… I tend to avoid the subject or ignore it. It is not a subject I would want to consider.

I don’t really see the big offense here. Seems like an innoccuous joke. Maybe there’s more going on that wasn’t written about? Did he really seem like he wanted to **** your sister?

Lust-filled brain of your sister, eh? How’s she doin’?

How old is your sister? Does he know her? And is she young enough, that when viewed, someone wouldn’t be sure if she were over 18?

Anywho, the guy sounds like a jackass.

I don’t get it. Why are you upset?

I don’t get it either. Seems pretty touchy to me.

Stoid and BlackKnight, do you guys have younger sisters? I’m guessing not, cause I do, and I can understand exactly what ResIpsaLoquitor felt. The guy would’ve got a stern talking to from me, that’s for sure.

To all of you that don’t get it, the OP calls her his kid sister, the comment from the jerk was “she looks legal”, the jerk is described as middle aged. Do you need me to draw you people a map? A creepy old man made a sexual comment about someone’s kid sister, if she’s over 18 I would guess it isn’t by much based on the jerk’s comment.

Res, I don’t have a kid sister, but I can imagine the disgust you felt. I for one offer my sympathy.

What grendel said. I don’t have a kid sister (or kid brother) but I agree—that was an inappropriate thing to say. Especially about one’s kid sister.

Yes, I have a younger sister. I also have an older sister. Yes, I’ve heard people make comments like that before, about both of my sisters. Makes no nevermind to me. If my sisters want to take offense that’s their choice. I cannot be offended for them.

Now, if I actually thought they were in danger or if they asked me to help them clue someone in that they didn’t like a comment, I’d obviously intervene. If the senario described in the OP occured, I’d probably shrug and say, “Yeah, she is.” Or maybe I’d laugh. Depends on my mood. The very worst I’d do is roll my eyes and shake my head.

Now, if the sister was obviously underage that changes things. However, we don’t know this from the OP. “Kid sister” implies only that she’s younger than he is. From the tone of the OP, I think it’s likely that this sister is much younger than the “middle-aged punk”. But there is no indication that she is not “legal”. If she is, then I don’t see the problem. If she isn’t, this perhaps could have been made clearer in the OP.

Swimming with another guy at night makes you “look gay”? Sheesh, sounds like a whole lot of stupidity was flying around out there.

Son got to talk to you, sit yourself down, your old man’s got something to say
What you ought to know about the birds and the bees, and to keep you from going astray
'Cos there are some rules that us menfolk must follow and life on the farm will be fine
You can bang anything that you find on the farm here, but don’t touch your sister - she’s mine.

I can totally empathise man. I was at work one day, and my boss (my fucking boss!!) said “You’re sister’s pretty cute…I bet she’d look good naked” - she was about 16, he in his mid thirties.

This is what I’m talkin’ about.

Quote the first sounds like a letcherous, vile comment.

Quote the second sounds like a silly off-color comment in response to another silly off-color comment (we joked about how there should have been more women swimming with us so we wouldn’t look gay). I see no offense intended. Again, it seems innoccuous.

ResIpsaLoquitor, I’m feeling what you’re saying, and I can hardly believe you didn’t knock the shitbag on his ass. Way to show restraint. I don’t know that I would’ve been that cool.

Beelzebubba, I think I would have lost it right there, boss or no boss. Actually, I think I would have taken it up with Human Resources. At any rate, there’s no way in hell I’d have let that slide.

The guy was pretty pathetic. I told him not to talk about my sister (or wife, for that matter - a different story) again. He didn’t, so I let it go.

I really don’t think he understood that he was being offensive. He was, to put it mildly, pretty socially inept.

I have two younger sisters and wouldn’t have found the OP particulary offensive.

I’m more bothered by this idea that a group of men swimming looks gay. Were you all naked and rubbing your penises on each other buttocks?

I also have a younger sister, and I wouldn’t have given the moron’s comments more than a shake of my head. I think it’s a bit of an over-reaction to freak out because someone mentions (asks) that your sister is: a) female, and b) of age. I can certainly understand being angry at someone who made a truly inappropriate remark, although I know for a fact my sister would have been annoyed with me if I did anything about it; in high school, she already had the aegis of two older brothers and didn’t appreciate any “interference” from us. Not so important now that she’s past the big 3-0 and is married.
