What junk food do you crave at the moment? I’ve had a hankering for Zebra Cakes for the last day or so. I used to eat them in middle school, before the cafeteria switched to a “healthier” menu. I think they may account for why I looked like a whale in a muumuu during my freshman year of high school. (I had no fashion sense, either.) But anyway, I saw them in the store the other day - only $1.09 per box! - and I have to say I was tempted…
Devil Squares, Nutty Bars, Star Crunch, and Fudge Rounds are my favorites…
When I buy one, I usually buy 2-3, because they’re so cheap. I could go for a fudge round right now.
Chocholate with Almonds. Am eating Kisses with Almonds even as I type this. It is one of the reasons I must lose weight…
Dried cuttlefish. Yum. Can’t get it for love or money around here.
Ketchup Chips, Nanaimo Bars, Bear Claws. I can’t believe I traded Montreal for Champaign, sometimes!
Trader Joe’s peanut butter cups. It’s like biting into an orgasm.
Please. Mystic Mints. In the freezer.
We’re done here - move along.
Y’know, on second thought, I find my analogy painfully disturbing and would like it stricken from the record, yer honor.
Ramen noodles.
Snicker’s.
Interesting. Never knew Ketchup Chips existed.
I love munching on Dill Pickle flavored chips (Frito Lay I believe)
How 'bout those new Reese’s White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups?
Mmmmm… boy are they good.
Hot ‘n’ Spicy Chex Mix
Hershey’s new Caramel Kisses (chocolate filled with caramel) are man’s greatest achievement up to this point. Better than the renaissance even.
Tortilla chips are a staple (Old Dutch are best - lots of salt and just the right texture), but I sometimes take a notion for something else. Some of them go a year or more before I start jonesing.
Here’s a list:
Cracker Jack - not those imitations that don’t have a prize inside
Cheezies - I forget the brand name (Hawkins?), but not cheesy-poofs, these actually have texture
wasabi peas - !
Those circus-peanut clones, marshmallow bananas - Do they count as fruit?
I’m sure there are a lot more, but I try to forget them completely when I don’t have the urge.
At the moment, it’s too early in the day and I don’t crave anything. I do have a weakness for cheese curls, preferably Snyders of Hanover. I suspect I’m addicted to Nabisco’s Swiss Cheese crackers.
I’ve got to admit, though, the Caramel Kisses sound good!
CJ
ASDA Smartprice coconut balls. At least, that’s what I think they’re called, they’re coconutty and made of marshmallow.
Right now Apple Cinnamon Rice Cakes and Seneca Cinnamon Dried Apple Chips. Sounds a lot healthier than it is.
I also love the new dark chocolate covered meringue drops.
McDonald’s fries. But only while they’re fresh-out-o’-the-boiling-oil hot – the minute they cool down, they become totally disgusting.
Peanut Butter Twix! Peanut Butter Twix! Peanut Butter Twix!
I’ve gotta have one. Gotta have it NOW! Now, I say. NOW NOW NOW!
uh… did I say that I like Peanut Butter Twix?
I crave poutine. I haven’t had it for six whole years. It seems nobody south of the 49th Parallel knows what it is, or will even venture to try making it for me. I can’t even get a restaurant to put gravy on french fries for me. I’ve tried every brand of prepared gravy, and none of them is even close to the kind they make in Canada. If anyone reading this knows a recipe for making real gravy suitable for homemade poutine, please post it! (I can cook, but I’m gravy-impaired.) Then the test will be to see if there are any cheese curds in The South [sup]TM[/sup].
Other than that, I usually crave Wise Ridgies Sour Cream & Cheddar chips, and usually have some on hand. As a matter of fact, I think I’ll have some now!
