I loved that scene with Boyd and Markham. I could see Boyd POSSIBLY forgetting about robbing Markham; but then Markham had to go and rub his nose in it. If they didn’t need to drag that story on a little more; I could see Boyd shooting them both right then and there!
Sam Elliott just doesn’t look right without a big ole mustache.
Boyd would need to be desperate to use a baby for leverage. But he will become more desperate. I don’t think Boyd intended it at that time as a threat, it is just to let us know that he knows about the family.
The alliances are getting complicated. Boyd seems to work for or with Katherine Hale. Meanwhile, Ty Walker is backed by Avery Markham. The two groups are bitterly opposed. But meanwhile Katherine and Avery are friendly, even old friends or lovers.
My recollection is that we never saw that, only during the first season did we see Raylan, Boyd and Ava at the table, and Raylan shot Boyd in the chest. Boyd was sitting at that time in the place Ava was this season, across from Markham, who was in Raylan’s place, while Ava sat on the side, where Boyd now sat.
Yeah, I enjoy the show, but I find it best to not examine the plots too deeply. I still don’t know how Boyd stays in business while seemingly losing every single shipment of the last few years, plus having boatloads of money stolen from him every so often. I still don’t know what value Wynn Duffy adds to any transaction. And now I have no idea what’s going on with Katherine.
The first season was full of them, a major reason why I kept watching (I love westerns — I spend more time watching Encore Westerns than any other channel). It would be a crying shame if they didn’t have at least one more in the final season.
What a great episode! It’s like they’re getting all of the past actors in for one last family reunion.
Does anyone else think that Ava is especially pretty this season? She’s rivaling season 1 in terms of sexiness. And as a friend of mine used to say: “she has a voice that sounds like she’s being made love to.”
