So the guy who got shot in the eye many years ago hasn’t been mentioned before??
Thanks for that bit of background… now what do I need to know about the info that they wanted to kill Ella Mae over and what is her relationship with the sherriff-type played by Jim Beaver?
Constable Bob still had Ralyan’s stuff from when Raylan came down after the house was broken into.
Why? becasue that way we get to see Constable Bob again
The guy that got shot in the eye is the leader of the Detroit Mafia - he’s been mentioned before, but not with that detail.
Ella Mae was a witness to the murder of her former pimp at the hands of Eva and/or Boyd - if she talks, that would actually give some evidence to be able to go after them.
I don’t know that she has a ‘relationship’ with Bobby, other than he’s supposed to be a lawman.
No, Raylan confirmed with Boyd that he was in fact kin to the hills folk, if remotely. The photo album was part of the stuff that Constable Bob had gathered up for him from Arlo’s house in the first episode of this season.
So Ellen May did think Colton was under orders to kill her. Dang. I doubt she’ll survive the season, but the little girl from S2 survived, so maybe Ellen May will too.
Is Josiah actually Drew? If the feds thought the real Drew was dead (and they did think that), they could have arrested him for something else, hence the monitor. Hiding in plain sight. Probably not. I’ve never accurately predicted anything on this show.
I don’t think Ellen May (and I am so impressed with you here – I thought they kept calling her EllA Mae too, but I looked it up and you are correct – bravo!) knew that Colton was out to kill her. I believe the sherif was the one who, since he suspected something during the “interview” with the preacher’s sister, just went and looked for her, then picked her up when he had the chance. Good timing.
I would have kept calling her Ella May but I noticed the name Ellen May at IMDB, when I looked to see who was playing Colton. Because it sure sounds like everyone’s saying Ella May.
I like the thought of the sheriff watching out for her, but he would have had to know that Ellen May was a recent convert and that she may have talked to Cassie. It seems a stretch. But Ellen May is so dim, it’s easier to believe the sheriff was at the right place at the right time than to believe she figured things out, and that she knew who to call.
Jeez, how many layers of southern criminals are there? We already have Miami > Dixie Mafia > Crowders > Bennets > Limehouse, and now there are “hill people” ???
I don’t find that at all implausible. I imagine that most criminals either work alone or within a small group. And I didn’t see the hill people as a criminal enterprise, but instead more as people who really want to be left alone.
My gosh but there’s a lot going on. Colton looking for a fix and for Ellen May, Tim helping a friend set things right with a dealer, Colton beating up one of Ava’s regular customers, Johnny and Wynn Duffy both trying to set Boyd up, Arlo’s lawyer looking for Drew on behalf of Arlo, and who knows what the heck else.
Can someone explain why Ava and Boyd want to go to some guy’s sex party? Is it part of the search for Drew Thompson or what?
And who’s the former lawman that Arlo’s lawyer was talking about? Shelby?
It looks like I was wrong about Josiah being Drew.
Shelby is a bit too decent to be Drew. But I’d like that twist. And I cannot imagine that Boyd will let other men anywhere near Eva. He’s just a bit too old fashioned for that.
I don’t like Shelby being Drew, unless he was somehow forced into it. Maybe he was the pilot and didn’t know his passenger had stolen those drugs. And he bailed out because the plane was about to crash. And his ID was in the bag because . . . I got nuthin’.
I can see Boyd pimping Ava, for a big payoff. Boyd is always gonna be Number One in Boyd’s life.
Sounds like you’re confused as to who Shelby is… He’s the sheriff played by Jim Beaver (an occasional poster on this board, btw) who saved Ellen Mae and looks to be gaining Raylan’s trust after severing his relationship with Boyd.
A rewatch is always fun if you want, but there’s no need for that. Here’s the guy, unless there’s more than one person fitting that description. (At first, I was thinking about the Bennet clan’s lawman with the beard.)
