I’ve never played the game, but as I understand it, it’s not unlike writing a story. I’ve done that; in fact I’m working on a story now. The two main characters suffer a lot, because I am God of their universe and my purpose in creating it is to craft a story which I, and hopefully others, find engrossing. But if I believed they had any real existence outside of my own imagination–that they were ensouled beings–there’s no way that I’d put them through all the crap I do. The little girl with the abusive father? She’d have been rescued the first time her dad raised his hand to her, and the dad would have been eaten by a lion or something.
But I possess the capacity of compassion, which kanicbird’s god does not. kanicbird worships a deity who was willing to send bears to kill and presumably eat children for making fun of his prophet’s bald head. kanicbird worships a deity who let Jephthah sacrifice his daughter to him. Who was willing to murder untold legions of Egyptian children to make a point about–I don’t know, his penis size, I suppose.
Thank goodness that deity is as imaginary as Zeus & Wonder Woman.

Agreed, but other people aren’t always okay with that. It’s not my place to tell a woman that God did not call her to preach, for example: and I don’t believe it’s the church’s place. That’s God’s call. I wasn’t called, but I believe women are all the time. The church I grew up in does not believe that, and the people will look at you funny if you even mention it. I feel like an alien.
It’s hard to go into any church to worship God when other congregants view you as a freak.

I do agree that is a big problem in many churches, The Lord did recognize one such church (Thyatira Rev 2 18-29), it looks like the Lord Himself will deal with this and the people involved, while sparing those who don’t hold to her teachings. The Lord did not forsake such a church, such a church might need you to help show the way.
You seem to forget the scriptures were written by human beings ,human beings can and do make mistakes, and even tell fables. Using scripture for an argument just proves you believe in the persons who wrote it, and no reason to believe any God had a voice in it.
It is not God but your belief that it is God who speaks to you and as I stated if it helps you fine, but He has a way of telling other people a whole different thing than you. That is why there are so many different religions. Muhammed is said to have God dictate a whole book to him. Just saying anyone who hears, or believes differently than you, is an egotistical way of looking at things.

If God is a spirit and if He is Holy then why send a Holy spirit separate from Himself?
Would you create a Monster that you knew ahead of time that he would devour your children? Why would God create a being he knew ahead of time that he would rebel? God must have wanted evil to exist because He knew that Satan would be evil so then God is responsible for the evil that is in the world.
I in the small amout of knowledge that I posess would not do so. It is hard to imagine an all knowing being creating anything or one that He knew ahead of time would be evil and decided to use it to play games.
If God died then He is still dead. If a spirit dies it would be as dead as any animal or plant. Jesus being dead for 36 hours could hardly be called a death. Death is a permanent thing. If a human spirit leaves the body and goes into either a place of suffering or pleasure then it is spirit that lives on, so God already being spirit would be in either place where ever that is!
The Bible I read said whale,but even so, a fish that was big enough to swallow a man and the man stayed in it’s belly for 3 days would have a heck of a time breathing and hopefully it had no stomach acids. apparently God also stopped the fish’s digestive system so Jonah would survive!

God uses men to do His work on earth, it is God working through us.
If God is real, and He wants us to know Him, it only makes sense that He would give us instructions on how to find Him. It also makes sense that the scriptures God gives us would accurately describe His power that is available to us, which it does - I have seen and experienced the power of God just as written in scriptures, no watering down, no shoehorning it in, but, with the exception of names, it is reading the exact experience.
God also states very clearly that these will be hidden to those who have no faith. I was shocked by this the first time I experienced it, how hidden it really is.

As for Muhammed, the starting premise is incorrect, God would not need to send a revision, and such teachings are warned against in the Word. If Allah were really God, He could get us His Word exactly how He wants.
All men are in ways ‘created monsters’ already with the capacity to devour His children. We have had the capacity to rebel and like Satan all men have used it IMHO. God does not want robots, I don’t think He could Love them as much as us. Also robots could not Love God as we do once we come back to Him. Through this life He teaches us what Love really is.

KanicBird your “logic” doesn’t make any sense, and you change whenever it is convenient for you to do so. Take your assertion that illnesses are cause by demons, but are also able to be affected by modern medicine. That means that Demons are able to be affected by chemical interactions, or that their work is easily undone. Either implies that demons have a physical existence of some sort to be able to affect a physical change. My rather childish knowledge of physics tells me that to affect material change you need at least the physical mass of electricity, and since we can observe that, we ought to be able to observe a demon, and yet we’ve never seen one.
If God of the Old Testament was really God, he could have gotten it right the first time instead of having to send Paul and the evangelists and a few others to amend (or reinterpret) the original.
