Kansas City Chiefs

AT HOME, this year, the Cardinals beat Green Bay, Minnesota, Cincinnati and San Fran. 4 pretty decent teams. They lost to the Rams by 3 and the Panthers by 3 and gave the Ravens a pretty tough game. Minnesota shouldn’t be ashamed of losing, only being surprised by losing.

Bubba – who did the Chiefs beat this year? Oh let me see…San Diego twice. Oakland twice. Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago. There’s a list of NFL powerhouses.

They beat the Broncos at home after getting outplayed, having a missed field goal by Denver, and Hall’s TD return with the most blatant uncalled clip in NFL history. And got KILLED by DEN when they went there.

I’ll give ya nice wins at Green Bay and Baltimore but if they need to rely on 14 point comebacks and special teams returns in the playoffs good luck.

KC is probably the worst team in the AFC playoffs.

Key word here is Playoffs, something the Cardinals won’t see as long as the name Bidwell is in any way an association.

You should be proud of your semi-pro team. I’ll admit that maybe they had some good moments this year but be assured that management will take care of that in the off season.

…amd maybe you should start a thread of non-pro teams that won’t see a playoff game. Somebody there might actually be interested in something that you have to say.

This discussion thread is for pro teams.

Bubba

Actually, assuming you beat the Irsays ( and I think you will ), you’ll be playing in Boston for the second round of the playoffs, it’s the Ravens who will be manhandling the Chiefs.

They beat us on a late 4th quarter Donte Hall kickoff return for a TD. Anyone who watched that game knows the Chiefs were back on their heels big time before that runback. KC better pray for the Flaming Thumbtacks Saturday because the way their run defense has looked this past month they have no chance against Jamal Lewis.

You’re very silly.

Last time I checked, the Cardinals had as many wins as the Giants, Oakland, and San Diego. Maybe that’s changed since yesterday though. Did any of them play this morning? Are they are all semi-pro now? I must have missed that article about them becoming semi-pro teams. You’d think that would be pretty big news.

Besides that Cardinals aren’t MY team. From the looks of their stadium they aren’t really anybody’s team.

My apologies Trunk for mistaking you for the lone Cardinal fan. Outside of the athletes’ family members I doubt if the Cards have very many supporters.

I stand by what I’ve said about the Cards. Bidwell doesn’t want to win, he wants profit, and only profit. He will trade away talent for profit in the off season and once again field a team that can’t make the playoffs. When you aim for the playoffs and don’t make it you are a pro team. When you aim for profit alone you are a semi-pro team. You are Bidwell and his Cardinals.

Its real easy for you and Pepperland girl to pick on the Chiefs. They have most definately exposed the chinks in their armour and are on the low end of repect in these playoffs.

But that will make it just that much more fun when the Chiefs win their first playoff game.

Bubba
Tail’s still waggin

Ya got a big Whooops! on that one.

Well, as the Bengals fans have been saying since…well…before I was born…

There’s always next season

And also, the Chiefs still suck.

Yeah, well I watched the Bronco/Colts Playoff game and it looks
like the starters sat this one out too. The one time I actually want the Bronc-hosers to win and they completely implode. I think KC would have had a much better chance at taking on the Titans instead of the Colts. Thanks to the Broncos we have to play the better team of the two. It will be tough but the Chiefs will send Peyton Manning home with a consolation prize of KC BBQ next week.

Yes, and there goes all the fun of taunting each other. Please cheer for the Chiefs opponents so that I can heap some more abuse on you.:stuck_out_tongue:

Bubba

Suck?!?!

We’ll see about that. :dubious:

You know I have to cheer for the opponents. If I ever find myself cheering for the Chiefs, I’m pretty sure the world would stop spinning and promptly implode.

I’m always in quite a bind when the Chiefs play the Raiders…

You need to develope a hierarchy rule. I’ll share some of my list with you.

I root for the opponents of the following teams. I will root for these teams if they are playing somebody higher in the hierarchy.

Cards
Cowboys
Patriots
Steelers
Raiders
.
.
.
.
.
.
Broncos
Rams
Chiefs
I’m curious to see your herarchy

Bubba

Generally, as much as it pains me, I’ll root for the Chiefs against the Raiders. It really depends on the record though.

I’ll always root for the opponents of
The Raiders
The Ravens
The Chiefs
The Cowboys
The Rams
The Chargers
The Packers
The Bills

And yeah, if the Rams play the Raiders, I’ll root for the Rams, and if the Packers play the Rams, I’ll root for the Packers…But the whole system pains me. Heh, I think I’ll be adding the Colts to my list…

How can you hate the Cards more than anyone? That’s like hating butterflies or ladybugs.

I wondered about that, too. It’s not like the Cardinals ever knocked anyone out of the playoffs or anything to be resentful about.

My root againsts changes year by year, and sometimes I find myself rooting for someone I meant to root against. Yesterday, to my embarassment, I found myself really rooting for the Cowboys even though I meant to root for the Panthers. Shrug.

Sigh.

Yeah yeah - I know. I’m here to eat my crow. What a complete disaster. Just a heart breaking, pathetic and inexplicable game by the Broncs. The touchdown where Harrison got up after no one touched him and waltzed into the endzone was totally unacceptable. I am so mad.

Anyways - you were right I was wrong. Mea Culpa Bubba.

Good luck to your Chiefs next weekend, honestly I got nothing against them. We split our games and hey, they aren’t the Raiders.

I have to admit I beginning to wonder just how much a “genius” Mike Shanahan truly is. He certainly did not have the team ready for this game. They were outplayed from the opening kick until the final gun.

ARG!!

I miss Elway. Yeah we lost with him too, but…sigh

From my impressionable youth, watching Bidwell in the 70’s and early 80’s suck any talent out of his team.

It’s no secret that he instructed his coaches to bench or minimize talented players so that they wouldn’t have leverage to pay-bargain during the off season. The guy’s a first class miser and should be run out of football.

As long as the name Bidwell is associated with Card football it will be at the bottom of my (and just about everybody who lived or lives in St. Louis’) list.

The game was over then and there. The game changed from “we’re going to run our offense, you’re going to run yours, and we’ll see who scores the most points” to “oh crap, oh crap, oh crap, oh crap - we gotta throw the ball!”.

I’m a Chiefs fan living in Indy, and I was sort of pulling for the Broncos (it hurt). I’d rather have been playing the Titans rather than Indy, but what can you do? Anyway, my friends were saying that they really thought that the Colts’ defense was really going to stop Portis et al. They didn’t - the Colts’ offense did.

As a newly minted offical Broncos fan this year, all I can say is: "What the fuck was that?"

I think Shanihan (sp?) should have to spend the entire off-season getting kicked in the nuts by Jake Plummer. I can’t believe how fucking bad the playcalling was for the Broncos! Here’s a hint for next year; when you need 10 yards for a first down, throwing 3 yards passes 3 times in a row ain’t going to do it!

And to top it all off, I had to watch the game with my buddy’s wife who is a Colts fan! Now I get to hear a weeks worth of the Manning Chorus. Og help me if they win next week!

And I have to agree with Munch about the no-touch touchdown. That was pretty much it for them.

Oh well, hopefully they can keep most of the team together for next year and maybe even pick up a defense. That would be sweet!
