Kudos to Beyonce for bringing Taylor Swift back out on stage later to have her moment.
I agree. Beyonce showed a *tremendous *amount of class. I have the utmost respect for her for doing what she did.
I actually like some of Taylor’s music. I was never exposed to it (heck, never even heard of her) until she did Crossroads with Def Leppard (my favorite band) and I was impressed with her songwriting ability. The songs are catchy and I tend to find snippets of them going through my head at odd times. I don’t own an album of hers, but I am tempted to get them.
Considering the way my husband and daughter reacted when they heard about what happened, I think you might be on to something here.
Let’s not get carried away here. Taylor Swift still sucks.

That’s all that Beyonce sings. But I admit she’s nice to watch.
Thing is, neither has really memorable songs, but I think Taylor sounds better.

On top of everything else, I think it’s only fair to point out that if we are looking for the truly *deserving *of music awards, Rush deserves to win all categories, every year.

Yeah. You can see a difference of at least half of that fifth of cognac between the first picture and the last. That man was trashed. I’m surprised it wasn’t more visible in the way he moved when he got up on stage.
If Comedy Central is smart, they’ve already shown this rerun at least twice since the VMAs.
I’m so sick of this attitude. Not everything has to be interesting or artful or original or challenging ALL THE TIME. People like popcorn movies, people like pop music, people like romance novels, people like fast food. It doesn’t make them mouth-breathing morons.
Swift’s a 19 year old woman and has been writing professionally since she was 14. Last year, she was the top selling female artist (any genre) according to Neilsen. She’s already broken numerous records and she’s only got two albums out.
I, for one, will be fascinated to see her mature over what will undoubtedly be a long career.
BTW, Beyonce is also an extremely talented artist. She’s just at a different stage in her career. Her graciousness towards Swift reflects well upon her and I look forward to her contributions to pop as well.
