keep on getting razzed from my friends

They went out to a bar to watch ‘the game’; and were razzing me on not going for the festivities.

I later get these texts:

“had a fun time last night”

“Waitress Monica was sweet on xxxxx and me”
“yyyy got totally hit on and stared at by a hot blonde”
Somewhat fed up, I reply with:

“I was in bed with my wife”
I haven’t gotten anything back from them.

Sounds like they were sharing their fun and you took it as them ribbing you. Also sounds like you wished you were there with them than in bed with your wife. Had you replied sounding a little less like a dick they probably wouldn’t be thinking that you’re whipped. Congrats, you’ve given them more ammo for next time.

Yeah I’m not seeing that as a particularly effect response. Maybe if you said “I’m in bed with your wife” it would have worked better.

I generally refuse to interact with people like that after those kinds of things.

whether the end result of such a policy is worth it to you is a different question.

Which game?

I assumed from the quotes that he meant The Game.

I didn’t get that at all. I read it as his friends bragging “We got flirted with by women we barely know” and Sigene replying “So? I had sex with real woman whom I love”. Perspective, I guess.

That was my intent.
Must have been lost in translation.
When I told my wife the text message exchange; she got it and had a nice laugh.

I missed that… I thought he said it was his wife. :stuck_out_tongue:

The game. Duh.

. . . and so I lose again. Dammit.

That doesn’t sound like “razzing.” Sounds like drunk talk with the guy who didn’t come out with them. Updates on the festivities.

Awwww. They missed you. Isn’t that sweet.

Or “Monica, yeah, shes cute, but shes lousy in bed”

Which presumably is like any other night. Maybe not always the sex part. IMHO going out with friends every now and then is important for a healthy relationship. You going to bed with your wife wouldn’t have impressed me and you came off sounding a bit pissy.

Eta “you” as in OP

So you friends were sharing what they were doing with you, like friends are wont to do, and you disliked that?

Kinda depends on what time of night they’re sending them.

Now i remember what the great retort reminds me of. The movie Clue. At the end (one of the endings) Mr Green is revealed to not be a homosexual working for the State Department. Instead he is an undercover FBI agent. The last line is “Okay, Chief, take 'em away. I’m gonna go home and sleep with my wife.”
