Keeping track in the MMP

Evening all. It has been a day of sloth alternating between the computer and the TV, with occasional trips to the bathroom as required. A bit rainy right now and only getting to 60F tomorrow. I do have the dishwasher running, so something was accomplished…

swampy, thanks for the reminder, need to set my watch and a couple clocks ahead, most of the stuff will spring ahead on it’s own.

Morty, not a chili eater, but your Frankenstein’s concoction does sound interesting…

Shoe, glad you got to see GC; I’m sure you’re both more relaxed now…

I get along fairly well with the geese in the pond near the soccer fields, except when they make a low flyover during practice (kids and I cover up in case of a ‘bombs away’). And one year they pretty much took over one of the fields and it was three weeks before all the goose poop was cleared.

Cookie, my brother had his hip replaced a couple years ago, and one of these days my knees will start to go, hope your appointment works out well for you.

FCM, hope you had some help (like a wheelbarrow or lift truck) to help with the pellets; that much lift-and-carry would wear most people out.

My brother’s basset hounds used to take a mouthful of dry dog food out of their bowls and put them on the carpet to eat. Why, I don’t know.

Perhaps time to check the Basketball action on the TV again. All y’all have a good night.

herald, is Angel a small dog? Most small dogs that I know will pull kibble out of the bowl to eat from the floor if their kibble is big. That’s the reason that I feed my little beast smaller sized kibble.

Went to SIL’s for the afternoon, but left after a couple of hours. Between her having a gimp day and me having breathing issues, neither of us felt much like prolonging our visit. I hope that I get some good sleep tonight.

She’s a cat – the grey-and-white one. (The black-and-white one is Nandi.)

Might as well post the other three – Lily, Eraser and Jiji.

They are all super cute, but I really love this pic!

George likes to lay on his side and reach into his kibble bowl to pull kibbles out and put in his mouth. He really likes it if one of us rub his belly while he’s eating. Cats is weird.

Hurray for getting laid. And for the cuddle time before and after, sometimes that’s more important.

I shoulda figured Adam got some too, you are too good to your pets to leave one out when it comes to yummy fud.

I really do wish you guys would stop with that foolishness. Just pick a time and stick with it, that’s what we did and I can’t think of one single person I know who wants DST back. The Native Americans have DST on their reservations and the ones I know bitch about it every year.

It’s not so bad now that I’m not working, but it is still a bother to try to remember what time it is at Mom’s house when I’m thinking about calling her.

I had Tai chi today and I must be doing something right cause it didn’t kick my butt as badly as it used to. There was a new lady on my side of the room today. I saw one of the anti-vaxers pull her to the side and point me out, so she knows I have vaccination cooties but she was brave! Or vaxxed. Plus, the anti-vax side of the room is pretty crowded and you can’t really get a good workout when you are worrying about smacking someone in the face.

The instructor uses the class donations for her feral cat rescue work, so I’m thinking I’ll start paying her in kitty kibble instead of the suggested $5 donation. Hubs has changed our chewy order to include 5 18lb bags a month, which will really make our Fed Ex guy happy. Not!

Good evening, Mumpers. I walked to the falls and back, so 7 miles, and for some reason I’m feeling every foot of it. I cut through the park where I saw 51 geese last time, and to my surprise, they were still there, only this time there were only 41. They were munching away like starving inmates at Attica (if you’re goose-hesitant) or hungry truckers at the all-you-can-eat buffet in Last Stump, Arkansas (if you’re JtC. )What happened to the other 10? My guess is they split off and formed their own gang, maybe the Canada Crips. (“We’ll off ya, but we’re polite about it.”) Here is (I swear) an actual exchange:

Me: So, Jane the Cane says you guys are nice if you’re fed well.
Geese: Mpfg burp brdgf. Huh?

I haven’t set my clocks forward yet. I hate, loathe and despise DST, so I’ll hold off until the last possible minute. [Shakes fist at clocks] Hope you enjoy the hour you stole from me, azoles. I see JtC is of a similar bent.

Mort, like MetalMouse, not a big chili fan, but that sounds way better than what I was expecting from the name, i.e., hot dogs.

Herald, those are beautiful cats. Do the black ones usually hang out together? Are they siblings ?

here are a few reasons on why they barf on the carpet :

Some experts theorize that this is an instinctive behavior ; in the wild, a cat would look for a place where they could bury or cover their vomit. Your carpet simply resembles more closely a place your cat would vomit in the wild than does your tile floor.

there’s a few more in the link

Nope. It was one 40# bag at a time. But I was just moving them about 15 feet. No biggie.

Spent the rest of the day reading. Time for sleepy-bye now…

Decent heave to end the week. I went out to BottleMixx for their last day at their old digs. I tried the Cheerwine Ale. Which if you like Cheerwine and wheat ales, you’d like it.

One time Lucretia D. Hellcatt started to hornk, so I grabbed a paper towel. then she ra, so there was a chase around the apartment, with me following the cat, and Maggie Wondrbeagle following, hi=oping to “clean up” first.

< flops onto fainting couch >(possibly from the day drinking  )

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 56 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (mostly moony?) with a predicted high of 75 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted for this afternoon and evenin’. I say bring it on. By that time we will be back in da cave achievin’ sloth and nappage. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. The assistant Bishop with the Luterun Synod will be there today. She will preach and preside over Communion. I like Pastor Jill a lot, so I’ll be glad to see her. I have Chalice duty. Afterwards we shall get a McN.O.L. and then back to da cave.

shoe I’m glad you got a visit from GC. I am sure it was a pearl clutchin’ good time.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence. I’m still a little tahrd from yestiddy plus addin’ in DST. Much grumpiness may ensue.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

It’s not enough that the clocks stole an hour from us… I absolutely could not fall asleep last night. And I should have been exhausted (BTW, MetalMouse, there were 44 bags of pellets.) I might have gotten 4 hours of sleep, maybe. I foresee dozing on the recliner today.

One rather unpleasant, tho easy, chore - I need to blow out the filters from my vacuum. They’re full of ash and just shaking isn’t enough. Hope FCD didn’t run the compressor down - it takes forever for it to come back to pressure.

And speaking of vacuum, I also need to run some soapy water thru the shop vac, since it’s got diesel residue in the tank and the hose. I plan to fill a bucket with Dawn and water and suck it into the vac, repeating a couple of times. With luck, it’ll dry overnight and I can vacuum the basement fireplace insert tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, Daughter and SIL will be taking the babby stuff out of the garage and to a consignment store. There’s a swing, a play table, a bumbo, and a pack-n-play. I’ll be glad to have them gone and they should get a couple of $ for that and what they have at their house.

FCD is going to the boat to finish what he started yesterday. I need to run to Food Lion and Aldi, and that’s pretty much all we have planned. Oh, and a few more clocks need to be reset. Rain is promised and it’s below freezing at the moment, so winter hasn’t left yet.

Guess that sums it up. Happy Sunday!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. It’s cold and dreary. I shall clean, and do some laundry. And possibly nap.

Happy Sunday!

Although not a good day.

Cerby attacked Ripple again this morning, early. No idea why. My son was at my bedroom door talking to me and as he turned to leave Cerby attacked Ripple, I grabbed Cerby’s harness and he would not let go of Ripple. My son grabbed the harness and was trying to pull him out of the bedroom. Echo started growling at Cerby, and then Cerby let go of Ripple and ran under the bed.
Everybody calmed down. Ripple was on the floor sitting against my legs, Cerby started nosing me from under the bed.
Everything seemed cool, until my son went to leave.
Cerby jumped Ripple again. My son grabbed his harness and Cerby started twisting to get out of it. I got Ripple to me and then Cerby turned on my son. He latched onto my son’s hand and arm, my son was punching him with his other fist and we had to pry his mouth open.

Now he is back to being sweet, and upset because my son is keeping him on a leash. He wants to see me.

We can’t do anything today; the vet’s office is closed. I could take him to the emergency vet, but we’ll wait until morning.
I feel horrible, but this is four attacks on Ripple in one week, and now an attack on my son.
It’s like a switch, it turns on and Cerby goes berserk, it turns off and he is sweet and loving again.

I’m trying to think of anything I’ve missed.
I think he is just messed up in the head, and other than keep him crated all the time, or drugged up all the time, there is nothing else to do. Being crated or drugged is no way for a dog to live.

It is snowing.
< runs around in mad panic >

herald, you have some beautiful kittehs!

JtC, I grew up in Indiana. I was a small kid when the state quit observing DST, so I never actually had to deal with time change, except for TV times were changed. When I went to Colorado, then Tennessee, it was a bit weird. A few years back, Indiana did adopt DST.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and a pot of roasted garlic, mushroom and barly stew on. I’ll do the Sunday chores shortly, but other than picking up a couple of prescriptions, nothing exciting going on.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Morning all. Slept pretty well and got 7+ hours despite the time change, so today should go well. Red Robin (yum!) is on my list for Sunday dinner so I’ll get ready to go here in a couple of hours. Might get to 60F today, but at least no rain in the forecast.

{{Sari}}, I don’t know what is wrong with Cerby, but if he’s attacking your son with harmful intent, I don’t think there is anything else you can do. You did the very best for him that you could.

FCM, moving them only 15 feet or not, that’s a lot of work.

nellie, that’s a lot of walking for anybody; glad the geese are well-fed. Only clock I have to still change is the one in my car.

JtC, silly people at Tai Chi means more room for you…sounds like a winner both ways. And great idea to donate cat food.

OK, need to do the Sunday morning internettin’ and ten get ready for being in public, so all y’all take care.

The snow is gone
< resumes Zen mode >

Lectored at the 8am mass; was a little tough getting up at 5:55am to shower and prep since with DST kicking in, I barely got 5 hrs of sleep. Heard a report on the radio this past week that there are a lot of strokes and heart attacks after DST kicks in. Here’s hoping no adverse affects for mumpers, their families and friends.

Made country breakfast (kielbasa, scrambled eggs with yellow and orange bell peppers, tomatoes and fresh green onions from the garden topped with melted swiss and cheddar, toast, and OJ), swept the kitchen floor and now heading out to go work out at the Fitness Center.

Have a blessed day!

Good morning!

It’s currently 30 degrees and cloudy with an expected high of 48. Rain is supposed to start falling around 10:00 this morning and continue throughout the day.

sari, that is scary and sad. I’m sorry it’s come to the action you need to take, but you’re right, keeping him crated or caged and doped up is no life for a dog. You did the best you could to offer him a safe home.

I went to bed around 9:00 pm last night in hope that I could catch a few zzzzzs before my husband came to bed. Once he came to bed, I was awake because he was tossing, turning, and scratching. He finally got up around 3:30 and I stayed in bed until 7:00. If it were not for the time change, it would have been 6:00 am, which is still quite a long time for me to stay in bed. Now, I feel even more ripped off with respect to my sanctified goof-off time on the computer because I’ve lost an hour and will feel guilty if I don’t start my household chores soon. Also, tomorrow is my in-office day for the week and I always have problems falling asleep, so I’m really going to be dragging a** tomorrow.

However, I hate DST and feel completely ripped off. I will feel tired and ripped off for the next several months. I wish they would just leave us all on standard time. That’s my little rant.

I need to get some laundry done today, finish cleaning the kitchen, and run the roll-suck around the house. I also need to strip the guest bed and wash the sheets since Zoe slept there on Thursday night. If the rain holds off long enough, I might rake some dead leaves and twigs up in the backyard. I like to leave the leaves and twigs in the big garden bed so the varied thrushes and spotted towhees can root under them for grubs and bugs, but spring is coming and it’s time to tidy the garden spaces up.

Well, time to finish my coffee and get on with the day. I hope you all have a good day.

And now a dilemma

Further research, Trazodone can cause aggression in dogs.
We ran out of Trazodone last week and there was a difference in Cerby’s behavior and the vet is researching to see if there is something else to give him.
I would like to take him off Trazodone and see if that makes a difference.

My son isnt for it, and it puts Ripple at risk and is extra work for us as we have to keep them separated.
