Kerry Will Win the Election

Since most votes are already cast, perhaps I should say he already has.

It’s pretty obvious now that this election will set a record for turnout. High turnouts generally favor two candidates: a) the challenger- like Tucker Carlson (!) said, people don’t vote in record numbers for more of the same; and b) the Democratic candidate. (Old and wealthy people always have the time to vote; young and poor people only vote when they really care).

Plus, all the polls rely on “likely voters”; it doesn’t take into account the majority of likely anti-Bush voters- youngsters who will vote for the first time to get Bush out of office.

That’s my take, do with it as you please.

So who or what are you pitting?

Er, I rather think this thread is going to end up belonging in the pit.

I think RNATB is just expecting flames.

BTW: you forgot the Redskins game and Kennedy/Eisenhower.

Won’t somebody please think of the zaftig daytime talk show hosts?

Before this thread/board goes crazy, I have a question: Is bush likely to stand in 4 years?

Thank you for your bold prognostications, Really Not All That Bright.

Fuck man, for the love of whatever, don’t throw the jinx on us.

I predict that Kerry will win, Bush will win, or the Canadians will launch a sneak attack and Terence and Philip will reign over the new North American Hegemony.

One of those.

Stand? Stand for what?

Sort of.

I don’t expect to be flamed; I haven’t said anything controversial. Somebody will, though, so I figured best to save the mods some trouble.

This isn’t a victory party, nor do I want it to become one when the returns are in. Regardless of who wins the election, the status quo will pretty much hold up.

Bush won’t invade any other countries, Roe v. Wade won’t be overturned, and further tax cuts will never pass the Congress. We won’t be leaving Iraq anytime soon, even if Kerry wins, and I’m doubtful that he will be able to shift substantially more of the burden of rebuilding to the international community than Bush has.

As Americans (a British citizen in my case, but I am becoming prouder to say an American, nonetheless) we have markedly similar views. We all think terrorists are bad people; we all like cake; we all think Celine Dion sucks.

Lob- not a chance, IMHO. The Republican Party can field any number of candidates who can appeal to voters on better credentials than “I’ve already been to the Oval Office”, and they’ll have to.

Maybe the we are in a new election cycle. Kerry will be in the White House for 2 terms then Jeb Bush will go for one term, then a Dem will beat him and go for two terms, then another Bush will…ahhhhhh!!!

We should do it just to fuck with future school kids who have to learn the presidents.

Oh, shut your fucking face, you unclefucker.

I’d take the OP with a grain of salt, since the OP is really not all that bright.

As far as the next Bush, I’d say that little Latino 20 or so year old cousin all the chicks dig.

He’s like their JohnJohn or something.

I’m really not all that bright. My OP, on the other hand, is spot on. Take it as Gospel, and if you haven’t voted yet and planned on voting for Bush, don’t bother, you know, because it won’t matter

Now, now, Reakky, it’s not sporting to discourage our opposition from voting. I heartily encourage them to go right out tomorrow and vote.

I voted back in June, but if I had planned on voting for Bush, I’d have to have been planning on a really long drive followed by voting fraud. Not much chance I’d head south to North Dakota just to try to convince an election official that my name really is on the list.

And I really hope your OP is right, but I just couldn’t resist being a smartass.

Better than a dumbass.

I’m not going to mention how long it took me to figure out that you meant you were Canadian, because if I said it took five minutes you’d all laugh at me.

And if you said 10 minutes you’d be honest…
