LA Fest Part II - The Final Decisions

Woo hoo! And I just finished the fabulous outfit I’m going to wear (no, it’s not a Peter Pan outfit, either). It turned out great - y’all are gonna be sooooooo jealous.

Esprix

I’m still hoping to get the sombrero. If I don’t get that, I’m going to wear my boxers on the outside of my pants. (J/k about that last part)

Remember, I’m going to be naked, so show up at your own risk. I’m not to be liable if you go blind.

On the serious side, how will we know who everyone is? Are you going to have a sign or something at the bowling alley?

I can just envision a bunch of us stumbling around trying to find each other…

S

At the ones I’ve attended, everyone sorta knew. Just look for a knot of intelligent-looking people.

I plan on wandering around and whispering to everybody I see “Psst - Got the straight dope?”

But seriously I will be wearing the bright gold shirt.

Um, where are we bowling? Does the deli have a bowling alley, is it next door, or do I need another address?

See ya tomorrow!

I mentioned earlier that I’ll be wearing a black coat. But since a lot of people might be wearing black coats in a city as big as LA–I’ll also bring the nametag I wore at a convention some time back.

It says “Ashtar” on it. And has a picture of an anthropomorphized fox with a black eyepatch.

If you can’t find the big-assed sombrero that Monster mentioned–this should be a dead giveaway.

I plan on being there a little early, since I usually jump at any opportunity to get away from my house for awhile. I’m gettin’ all excited! Hope to see all of you there!

(Ashy is curious about Esprix’s costume.)

RE: How to find everyone…

I’m going to see about bringing a big ol’ honkin’ sign that’ll say “No Serlins” or something like that.

I hope it quits raining. I don’t have a car and waiting for a bus in the rain really sucks. I will be able to take the Red Line subway most of the way (to Universal City), but I have to take a bus from there.

But the chances of the rain stopping today are between slim and none.

Unfortunately, no big-ass sombrero. SPOOFE has something that’s fairly obvious. You’ll notice it.

See you all in a few hours!

Ugh.
Well, my belly hurts and it is nasty out there. A combination that doesn’t add up to making me want to drive the 2 hours to get together with everyone.
My big time apoligies, I was really looking forward to meeting everyone.
I even had some toothpaste in hand to give to Spoofe. Heh, maybe its for the best I didn’t make the trip.

I have to give my apologies, too. I’m still not feeling all too well (any of you that have the stomach for it, can read about it in my Humiliating Moment thread). I was really looking forward to it, too. :frowning:

I was really looking forward to it, but I got attacked on the street today by a very drunk Russian (in full military garb, too). I’m not really feeling up to it as I’m quite sore now :(.

Be sure to post some pictures so I see what I missed!

AudreyK (a charming young woman, let me assure you) started a thread about the 'Fest here. We’re sorry to have missed you guys, but I hope y’all feel better.

And, don’t worry, my brother and I managed to snag a lot of pictures (and even two good video clips!), which I’ll be posting to my webpage tomorrow.
