So at the last Ann Arbor dopefest, I brought up the idea of a Detroit dopefest and La Shish* was mentioned as a possible spot. How about weekend after next? Either Friday (4/25) or Saturday (4/26) would work well for Rick and me. Anyone** interested?
Also, I know they have a couple of locations. Any preferences?
*For those of you who don’t know the place, it is a Middle Eastern restaurant. Think good bread, hummus, and baba ganoush.
**Kyla? Cranky? Hello Again? Shirley Ujest, who told me she would think about coming to a dopefest sometime soon? Anyone else either living here or crazy enough to drive here???
Oh BTW, there are multiple La Shish restaurants in the Detroit Metro area. Which city are we talking about? Here is the website for the La Shish locations
Thanks for the link, Shadowfox. I don’t have a preference. Does anyone know which one is the mothership, or does anyone prefer one location over the other?
Damn, damn, damn. Would some time during that week work better for you, Cranky? If we are going to do this soon, for me it has to be before 4/29, but otherwise I am flexible.
Well, I think a weekend would be best for most people… but I would be available that Thursday night. My parents aren’t coming until Friday morning, and I have Friday off (of course). But don’t make your plans around me. I can always get in on it the next time.
I’ll be sure to make sure ShannyStalker and husband know, too.
Thursday would be fabulous. In fact, a Dopefest dinner of wonderful Middle Eastern food would be just about the best way I can think of to celebrate motzei Pesach. My only qualm is that I can’t partake until it’s pretty dark and I’m worried that sunset will be too late.
Tomorrow’s sunset is supposed to be 8:18, Kyla. It probably won’t be much different on Thursday. Will that work, or is it a set time you need to adhere to?
If you’re still trying to think of other Detroit area dopers, I know that Brutus is in Royal Oak. He recently threatened Troy with invasion after I posted a special version of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”
