I don’t think as a species we really have much of a 3some instinct. We’re humans, not mallards. 
That being said, I’ve certainly been involved in a few more-than-2somes in my time, but I find them, much for this reason, rather awkward and unpleasant. By the time everybody has finally found a comfortable position, I’ve usually lost interest. Don’t level those kinds of accusations at me. I’ve been in the company of far too many fraternity guys over the years who have had that general attitude towards women.
Are you willing to deny that there are far, FAR too many guys out there who make it their mission to prey on naive and/or drunk girls, only to never call them again, and then laugh and brag about it to their friends? And this attitude seems to be entirely a masculine tendency. I’ve never heard of a woman who preys on and takes advantage of some naive guy only to brag and laugh about it to their friends.
It seems like in most cases at least the girls have some general level of respect or fondness for the guy that they’re sleeping with. Which makes it all the more disgusting when the guy has no intention of treating the girl like a human being.
