I really wanted to watch/like it, because the art style said, “This is just like Archer!” Sadly, everything other than the art style said, “OMG, this is going to suck!” I made the right decision, I think.

Am I the only one that thought that none of that montage was going to actually be expanded upon? I thought those were all the scenes we were going to get of those escapades, then they were going to fast forward to “present day” after all that happened.
That’s what I thought too. It’s kind of a bummer that they’re spoiling the season like that.
I don’t think those specific scenes will be in the season (I could be wrong) and thought it was more akin to the “Next time on…” gags where they show stuff that never actually occurs within the continuity of the show. In other words, they’ll definitely be a drug cartel and some of the broad plots might be used (Cheryl being kidnapped, let’s say) but not those exact scenes.

Might be, might not be. Adam Reed is still writing the back half of the season, so some of it may or may not be used.
I’m stoked to hear that Kenny Loggins recorded a country duet version of “Danger Zone” with “Cherlene”.

Anybody else find it strange that the voice of Kreiger (Lucky Yates) has made it into the opening credits while the voice of Ray (Adam Reed) has not? Seems to me the latter is a more central character than the former these days.
I’d say the new season’s off to a pretty good start. Loved how they were all ratting each other out to the FBI after Mallory gave them strict orders to shut the hell up. And I presumed she was later talking to the President - or maybe the FBI Director?
Favorite lines:
“Can’t you just put it on my… crime tab?”
“I thought you were going to shoot me.”
“The day’s not over.”
“But for the rest of us, trapped in the realm of possibility…”
“And for what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure I just invaded Laos.”
The montage at the end was fun - I thought it was all just stuff from Archer’s imagination, too, but thanks, Cheesesteak, for setting us straight.
Disappointing.

The montage at the end of the first episode was hilarious. I’m actually disappointed to know that it was made up of actual scenes from the rest of the season. Based on this week’s episode, the joke won’t play as well over the course of a whole season. Especially now that we know much of what’s going to happen.
