If the show was plot-driven I would be concerned. But it isn’t so I am not worried.
Agreed. The rest of the episode was workmanlike, but not inspired.
I’m holding out hope that the coke fencing is just a 3-4 episode arc like Archer of Darkness was and there will be plot points not spoiled, or even alluded to in the trailer for this season.
I’d be happy if the 5-10 episodes remaining was just how the various characters decided on spending their cut of the loot.

This episode wasn’t as funny, but I enjoyed it. Maybe because I’m stoked for the new direction.

Disappointed in the second ep of the season, I have to say. I often write down funny lines… but there were none that night which motivated me enough to grab a pen and paper.
Disappointing yet again. Can’t put my finger on it but the episodes just comes up weak and watery.
I actually like the first “Vice” episode unlike most of the responses here but last night’s wasn’t anything great. I hope each episode isn’t just them losing more cocaine with no pay-off because that’ll get old in a hurry.
I did laugh at Carol’s great uncle (or whatever) trying to capture slaves and return them…in 1890.
Goddamn bottle episode. That’s what you get when you reboot your show and lose your back catalog of set designs.

Basically, the characters are no longer the characters we have come to enjoy, but are instead just overblown caricatures of themselves used solely move a really lame plot forward. This same thing happened to The Simpsons years and years ago when Homer became too much a buffoon and no longer had any semblance of realism to him.
Pam has been pushed way overboard, with only her extreme eating and stupidity shown.
Same with Cheryl, but only her stupidity.
Same with Ray, but only his… he’s just wasted.
Archer didn’t really do much of anything to show he’s really a badass.
Lana… why even have her now? How is she being pregnant even remotely good for her character?
Why not have the characters be like they were in the first two seasons, when they still had some semblance of competence?
Sadly, Archer has jumped the shark.

Not all episodes can be great (or even good), but at least ONE of the first three should be great.

Disagree. The first two were fine. This last one lacked all kinds of pace, nothing really happened. Like reading a decompressed comic.
I thought this one was a vast improvement over the last one.
That one probably annoys me the most because he used to be a good agent and, yeah it’s a cartoon, but gave some plausibility to the idea that ISIS could exist and turn a profit. Even with his quirks he could play a straight man (yeah, yeah) to Archer. Now he’s just a dope.
