Bacon cheese burgers and fries have been consumed. I used pre-cooked bacon (don’t judge, it’s good!) so no nudity ensued. I even did the fries in the oven. OYKW grilled the burgers. We done good. Plus ice cream for later.
BigKitty I’d have to think long and hard about an hour’s commute one way. Hope the carpool things works out if’n you decide to take the gig.
It is a thinker. But at the same time I need $$$ and this would be steady work for at least 5 months.

Big Kitty, hope the job works out. I’ve done those 45-60 minute commutes before, it leaves you pretty drained at the end of the day.
Talked to my adviser at Edward D. Jones and I think I’m going to set up a second Deferred Annuity and get out of the market altogether, first time in 30 years I won’t have a mutual fund earning dough. But the market is high right now and with the…troubles…that are possible later on, best to lock it up now and I’m set (more or less) for life. After thinking about it, she really just helped push me in the direction I was wanting to go, but she had all the numbers and options available to me. Maybe not a full-fledged ‘money manager’, but the Edward Jones folks I’ve dealt with over those thirty years have done well by me.

Family left this afternoon. We managed to get the kids over to the community pool before they went. After they were gone I took a 3 hour nap. 
It’s supposed to rain this weekend. I hope it does. The air is very smoky from fires up and down the area. Hopefully it’ll clear the air and help put out some fires.
To those who think an hour commute each direction is bad, try mine. I leave at 0740, arrive at Hades Annex ca. 0930. I start my shift at 1000, off at 1900. On a good day, I get home by 2115.
I’ve had hour+ commutes in my past and you just learn to deal with it. Not my idea of a good time, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. At least it’s just a temp gig…
We got a card in the mail yesterday from the company we bought our pellets from. They’ve now got the pellets we usually buy on sale for $30/ton less than we just paid. Dammit. Last year they didn’t have 2 separate sales, but this year they did. So we’re out $90 and there ain’t nothing we can do about it. Dammit. :mad:
There was a real toad-soaker some time last night. The screen on the back door was wet almost to the top! I hope it didn’t flood the basement, but I don’t want to go down there, because I’d feel obligated to start cleaning it up and I don’t wanna do that… So avoidance is the option. But I may not be avoiding anything. We shall see eventually.
Today, by golly, I will tend to the guest room!!! No, really, I will! Yeah!! After we go to breakfast.

Today is mowage of the back forty over to the church house. That will get accomplished this mornin’. I foresee some quality cee-mint pond time this afternoon. I need that. Any food intake will be via foragin’.

I commute an hour each way everyday but it is a beautiful ride and it’s just what I have to do. i have been doing it for 14 years.

Pepper declines to sleep in on Saturday. 
We’ve been up, played, done our walk, and now she is crunching on ice. She still has her baby teeth and I think the ice makes her sore little mouth feel better.
Other than that, today shall be laundry and grocery shopping. Laundry never stops. We should all be nudists! (OK - that would be weird and uncomfortable in certain seasons.)
My caffienation was severely delayed this morning when my coffeemaker decided that brewing was for chumps and quit working after making a half an inch of coffee. Off I go to Walmart for a new maker. It works. All is right with the world. Except that it’s humid in the mountains. What the hell, August?
Morning all. Had to do 2 hours of coaching training this morning on how to coach 5 and 6 year olds. Not sure I learned much except “keep drills short” and “have extra soccer balls”. Some kids just take to running around, others get on the field and stand still for 10 minutes. Not sure how to correct that.
Afternoon is Soccer Referee refresher, at least that will be inside a restaurant instead of outside in the humidity.
Rain is possible for the next several days. My lawn will look like a jungle by the time it drys out enough to mow.
Howdy Y’all! Home from mowage of the back forty over to the church house. Big red decided it did not want to mow. The problem was the fuel pump. A new pump got purchased and put on big red and Lake Luther Patrick AKA the holdin’ pond which is dry right now was gettin’ mowed when I left. So we had one ridin’ mower (little red), one push mower and a weed whacker. We took turns with each and got it all done. Go Us! Oh and there are thunder rumblin’s in the distance. I’d hoped for cee-mint pond time but really, right now, I is tahrd and sittin’ around in the a/c sounds like a good idea.
BigKitty I have a four cup coffee maker for just such emergencies. OYKW thought that was weird until the big coffee maker crapped out one mornin’ and the little coffee maker came to the rescue.
I finally bought some caffiene pills so I can ward off headaches on the weekends. I only drink coffee Moanday through Firday. Wierd I know.
I have been so lazy today. I have to go to the neighbors a little later for some fresh homegrown eggplants. I guess with the extreme heat we’ve had the bush has gone crazy. I will take some to irk as I do like eggplant but not that much.
Tis hawt again with heat indices in the hundreds. Hubby has more irk than he can do and the phone just keeps ringing. He comes home a couple times a day to change shirts. I really don’t know how he keeps going but he loves his irk. Good thing.
