nettie, I thought some of my old commutes were bad, but yours takes the cake. Has your husband put your picture on a milk carton yet?
sunny, One of Nelson’s favorite chewies is a Mongoose mongoose dog toys - Bing images (he has the conical one and the conical on a rope) . They make them in small to Rottweiler sized and have a place to put a treat in. Nelson stays occupied for up to an hour with a treat that’s hard to dislodge or has been frozen in. He has one in his crate that I put a treat in in the morning. The treat’s gone when I get home.
I got the roof piece fixed on the car this morning. Now, I’m getting ready to go craft with the heathens. I’ll swing through Kroger for groceries on the return trip.
Yesterday he went to jump on top of his bench, not noticing that the top wasn’t on it, and he fell in.
I stepped on him earlier today, and Sah-son stepped on him this afternoon.
I don’t what he expects when he crowds around our feet when we are trying to walk. Adam kept running away from Sah-son, which had him all upset because he didn’t do it on purpose.
Of course not, have you ever tried to step on a cat on purpose?
Anyway, the cat is sulking.
No name yet Butters.
I talked to my mother today and got to listen to her bitch about me getting a shar pei.
The squirrels invaded the closet again.
I wonder how much an exterminator costs, although a friend said all they did at her house was put great stuff in the holes.
I can do that myself.
I took out the recycling, found the third park on the greenway, went to the library, and read a very long letter (not written to me). Now it’s time to make this a real Saturday and watch the last episode of MST3KTR.
sah … your cat or cats doesn’t know squirrels are there ? let him go in there a few times … they’ll move out really quick … the puppy might help eventually …
Nah – PA parks have shelters already. So I brought [del]several guns, explosives, knives and things to remove fingerprints and residue [/del] my wife along instead. Actually it was a lot of fun; I just ain’t naming who in case she/he/it/anything-else-you-can-imagine never posts again.
Plausible deniability – it isn’t just for breakfast anymore!
Glad I’m not working today. I’m familiar with Charlottesville from a murder trial and a serial killer a few years ago. I’ve hiked on that street. Just blah.
Summer will wind down soon, my son starts college and my daughter her last year of high school.
I had to go in to save the broken network for an event Sunday, which I must attend to save the internet if needed. Friday I will have worked twelve damned days in a row.
This reminds me. I just found more of it. I will send it along presently.
Commiserations galore.
Regarding Charlotte, the Board’s own Sailboat’s wife was injured by that car. He posted that much, but I haven’t heard any more news. At dinner, we got seated next to an elderly Southern gentleman who was pontificating about how Lee wasn’t in favor of slavery and other nonsense. I restrained myself from getting up and making a scene. Jackass.
It really is ridiculous. I remember way back in the late 70s, one of my engineering books cost $80, which was obscenely high at the time, and it literally fell apart before the semester was over.
More recently, when I took one of my ceramics classes at the junior college, I was required to buy a book - the latest edition, of course. Well, I found an older one on line for lots less and as far as I could tell, the pages were numbered differently. I had to use it for exactly ONE assignment. And I didn’t even care about grades - I was taking the class to learn technique, not for a degree.
**Sunny **- thanks for the warning! I’ll be looking for a delivery. Since we come and go thru the garage, I don’t always see what’s at the front door. And thanks again for the yarn - the afghan I’m working on now is soooooooo soft! The pattern requires using 2 strands together and a size P hook, so it’s going fast and it’s fluffy - some senior or vet is going to be very happy!
**sari **- sadly, supper was a bit “off” - both the ham and the corn tasted odd. But we survived to the morning, so it wasn’t fatal.
We’re supposed to see sun today. I’ll be doing laundry, but I’ll just toss it into the dryer. I also need to run the vacuum - there’s Ziva hair all over the carpet. She leaves little clumps of herself everywhere she lies down. Final chore is emptying the dishwasher. So, relatively easy day ahead.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 94 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. From the feel of things outside, TWPTB may get this one right. Last night I made a beastloaf, sautéed squishes and onions, and made up some mac ‘n cheese. That along with green beans and cornbread shall comprise N.O.L. I shall put the beastloaf in the oven shortly and let it cook before we head out for deheathenization. Beastloaf heats up easily as does squish ‘n onions. Just in the mood for some home cookin’, especially a beastloaf. Other than that, I foresee slothage this afternoon and evenin’.
ruble
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then the beastloaf shall go in the convection oven whilst purtification for deheathenization commences.
Moooom, once I figured out how easy and inexpensive that doing my own whipped cream was, it was Cool Whip goodbye too.
I’m up and caffeinating, breakfasted, have supper in the crockpot and the dog walked (he pooped outside yay!). After posting, it’s one more game of GoGetTheMooCow, then a shower and purtify to heathenate. Lunch at Hogwarts to follow.
**Red **- for some reason, I had it in my mind that whipping cream was more complicated and required a special technique. Nope - my hand-held mixer with the whisk attachment makes short work of it. A good tip I read on line - place the bowl and whisk in the freezer for at least 20 minutes before dumping in the cream, sugar, and flavoring. Then it takes barely over a minute to whip it up! And it’s really good with almond extract instead of vanilla!
Laundry is started. **FCD **is taking trash and recycling. I’ve vacuumed up Zivahair. I forgot that I’m supposed to smoke wings, and **FCD **wants to go to Fredburg today. I need to talk to him about it when he gets back. It depends on the hours of the store he wants to go to - I may not be able to go with him. So much for an easy, lazy day… <pose of woe>
I was pleasantly surprised by my book list for Uni- nothing required, one book recommended, any edition is fine, easily available and about £30. That was it. It does look like a pretty good reference book as well.
Irked yesterday at the balloon festival as well, but that’s it. Was told there might be irk today, but just went in, and got handed wages and told that’ll be it. I expected it 'cos there’s no evening stuff today, so it’ll be quieter and most people have bought picnics and won’t be getting drnuk enough to buy questionable meat products inna bun if they’re going home before 9. I reckon they might manage a mass launch today, unlike yesterday, so I’m a bit sorry I’ll miss that, but not sorry enough to just hang round for the day, as I’ve seen all the other entertainments on offer.
It was kind of fun, but I’m definitely not sorry that’s it. Now it’s back to moving prep.
The smoker is heating up and in a few minutes, I’ll be loading it with wings. According to everything I’ve read, it shouldn’t take longer than 2 hours for them to get done. So we should be able to head to Fredburg by 1 or so.
First load of laundry in the dryer, last in the washer - that’ll be done before smokeage ends. And all that remains is to empty the dishwasher.
I’ve seen a few peeks of sun, but we’re not promised much. Alas…
