Let's all have a better week in the MMP

TMI applies to cats? I did not know that.

The AV seems to have gone downhill since I left.

Aww, {{{{{{ taters }}}}}}.

Just bought some tickets for tonight’s Powerball. When we win the $800 Million, we’re buying the inlaws a house with a live-in nurse.

FCD is not motivated to do leaves, and frankly, neither am I, but they gotta get done. Dammit. I may just ride around and chop 'em up without the mulcher/vac. If I start in the center of the yard and blow it all outwards, most of the stuff will be blown into the woods. At least it will in the front yard.

I just have no motivation. At a minimum, I need to clean the critter fountain. After lunch. Maybe after a nap… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Breakfast is cooking. Hashbrowns instead of home fries requested today. And of corse, deadpig strips and cackleberries.

Happy Saturday!

It was cold this morning, 34 degrees.
Since the dog park was closed, we went to Urban’s house instead. His dad built a fire and it was cozy sitting around the fire while the dogs played.
Coco fell in the pond; we knew it was going to happen eventually. Echo almost fell in.
Ripple and Echo were not afraid of the fire pit, most of the other dogs wouldn’t go near it.
Lily showed up, we hadn’t seen her in a while, and she sat with a big smile on her face as all the other dogs fussed over her and chewed on her ears.

I was going to stop and get donuts on the way, but after thinking about how I was going to get a dozen donuts into a yard full of dogs, I changed my mind.

Cerby has started with a horrible hacking cough. I hope he doesn’t have kennel cough, and even more so, I hope we didn’t spread it if he does. He is vaccinated, but they can still get it. He was in day care 3 days ago, and I think that is within the incubation period.
He’s not showing any other symptoms, he’s eating and drinking, and has lots of energy.

Ripple was full of energy today, so I know he is better.
The dynamics are different at Urban’s, they play more and get along better.

Cerby is sleeping in my room now, but he still won’t get on the bed. Echo gives him a look and he won’t challenge her.

We picked up donuts on the way home, for my son. I wasn’t going to eat any, but I broke down and had one.
Barky/Humpy mom called me while I was driving home. One on one, she is fine.

I ordered groceries this morning to pick up this afternoon.
I have stuff to do, but I lack motivation.
My son got an ‘action item’ from unemployment, but we have no idea how to answer the question, so it will have to wait until Moonday when we can call them.

bout to head to the store this foggy morning. Then my friend (and dog) and I will make the 80-mile round trip for my15 second drive-through nasal swabbing. Then we’ll go to a dog park. I’m looking forward to that last bit.

I won’t be looking into the Medicare thing until sometime next week. I have to get through this scalpel fest first.

sari, how does Barky mom have your phone number? I hate to say it, but if she’s established a connection with you outside the dog park, it’ll be even tougher to break ties with her. At least she’s nice one-to-one. I hope Cerby’s cough goes away soon. (It does sound like kennel cough.)

shady, I’m sorry about your family friend and his daughter. What a horrible tragedy.

FCM, couldn’t you hire someone to do the lawn, just this once? You and FCD are exhausted and deserve some rest.

Taters, ditto on the lawn care, if you can afford it. I don’t think pushing around a mower will help you beat the Never-Ending Crud.

Us: Yep, applies to cats.
Cats: Silly humans. Nothing applies to us.

I just did it the cheater way - driving around without the mulcher/vac. It took less than an hour and I got some fresh air and sunshine. I also just finished cleaning the critter fountain. FCD has gone to help his bro set up his new computer. Daughter is there with Tobias, Roxy is spending the night with her other grandma.

I’m about to assume the read position. All that fresh air kicked my butt!

I am fairly sure the Laws of Physics do not apply to cats.

Can stand without a lot of pain today, thank goodness. My incisions (laparoscopic and where the removal tubes went) are healing. Unfortunately, sneezing nearly killed me.

I bought a cheap behind the back massager/heating pad. My god. How have I survived without one all these years?

We’ve filled out our ballots, and will soon take them to the fire station’s drop box.

nellie, I know in our dog park, it’s pretty common to exchange phone numbers amongst those of us whose dogs play well together. Sometimes that backfires. :stuck_out_tongue:

Laundry is folded, patio / yard cleaneded up, a few things done in the studio and some books boxed up for Books for Soldiers. I’m narrowing down my hard copy collection before the possibility of my next household move.

Sloth and more playtime in the studio to round out the evening.

Howdy Y’all! Been a day of sloth, nappage, day drinkin’, and tackle ball. My Dawgs supped on some Flahrduh Gator and that always makes me happy. We may or may not deheathenate tomorrow. We have decided to make the call once we arise in the morn.

MOOOOOOM I am glad to know RoxStar has decided she likes my spirit animal. Also, of course, grandma immediately ordered a sloth from da Jungle. I’d say that is a rule, but I’ve been told the rules don’t apply to grandmas.

BooFae I know what you mean about the movie. I haven’t seen that particular movie, but sometimes we watch a movie on Netflix, and while we didn’t not like it, we didn’t particularly like it either. I’d say that would be a waste of time, but in reality most of the times movies are watched to waste time.

red you forgot cater to Nelson’s every whim as one of your daily tasks.

sari hope Cerby’s cough goes away soonest and glad Ripple is all better and wanted to play.

kt those back massager/heatin’ pad thingies are da bomb are they not! Glad you can stand in less pain today. It will get better day by day.

Seventeen twenty-three, and dinner has been ingested. I steamed a veg medley (broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots) in the microwave, then made cheese sauce (roux, milk, cheese, salt) and mixed them together. Protein was snapper baked with back yard rosemary, and sliced lemon.

I got swabbed. It took 12 seconds, but that includes the swabber gushing over the Very Good Dog, so more like 5, really. We didn’t get to the dog park, but the pupper was happy anyway. She got to be with TWO of her fans, AND ride in the car, AND get treats! Her cup runneth over.

I didn’t go to the gym, as intense physical activity makes the itching even worse. Between the walk to the store and walking around my apartment, I put in 8 miles, though, so not too bad.

I nominate the sloth as the MMP mascot. Who’s with me?

Oooooh, that makes sense. Thanks!

Evening all. Up at 6:15am, off to soccer at 6:50am and finally got back in the house at 7:10pm after 4 games coaching and 3 refereeing along with misc. other things (like filling my gas tank when I had a free hour). Soon as I got home my brother called so we chatted for a bit before I begged off (too tired to hold up my end of the conversation) and fixed some Fettuccine Alfredo courtesy of Lean Cuisine and my microwave. Now snacking on Ritz crackers and Pepsi and will be turning in fairly early tonight, since I’ve already signed up to referee two (maybe three) more games tomorrow (glutton for punishment I am…).

And while I’ve read all I simply haven’t the gumption to answer them now. Maybe 8-9 hours of sleep will improve my abilities…

Survived one helluva Saturday rush. There was some sort of sports going on (Michigan vs Michigan State, if I heard correctly - not exactly sure how that works out) and I was on fryers all night.

It was Onion Ring Extravaganza Night, apparently; at one point I had at least ten tickets and I swear more than half of them involved damn onion rings.

Man, I been slackin’.

I’d vote, but I’m too lazy.

She does sound like quite the joy. I would have let you use “my” handicapped spot unless I was having a bad day. I try to not use the gimp spots (I’m pretty sure that 90% of those who use them refer to them that way. I didn’t know that gimping around was a thing until I got my first cane.) if I don’t have to. The extra exercise is usually helpful and often there is someone else who needs it more.

The exception is if there are no spots available that allows me to swing my door open all the way. I can’t shimmy in and out like I could when I was younger.

That is actually why I got my placard. There was a library half a mile away from my last job and I liked to gobble my samwich on the way there and just decompress among the books during my lunch breaks at times. One day I went to the library and the only spots I could have used were the handicapped ones, so I pulled into an able-bodied person spot and called my doctor and asked to have the paperwork filled out so this wouldn’t happen again.

Wild rice is good too!

Holy cow, I am so sorry for everyone involved.

I went looking for a funny My Spirit Animal is a Sloth meme and TIL I learned that is really a thing with all sorts of woo woo stuff out there. I need to get out more.

This really bites. What’s it been now? A couple of weeks? I hope you don’t take this wrong, but you aren’t invited to come over and meet GG for at least 6 weeks. You’ve never impressed me as a complainer so if you are feeling this ick for this long, I really don’t want to experience it.

I had a mental image of you dashing through a mob of dogs while holding the box of donuts over your head with both hands, you made the right choice!

Thank goodness indeed! When hubs had his bypass surgery, they gave him a pillow to hug when he needed to sneeze or cough and it did help a little. Do you have a small throw pillow you can drag around with you? It could help. A little.

I would, but that sounds like a lot of work…

Today we went to a very sad little craft fair the next town over. There were a dozen booths, with three of them selling hand made items. The rest were re-selling things and there even a couple of tables with flea market things.

Hubs says that craft fairs are on the way out because only old people do them. I think that young people still do crafty things and he was just being cranky because he was hurting so I bought him some cookies.

Yesterday, he got a call from the Harley dealership saying that the person who had traded in the bike hubs bought had come back and left the owners manual and a rather pricy tune up tool that once synced to one specific motorcycle cannot ever be used for any other motorcycle, not even the exact model.

This inspired hubs to go out into the barn and the owners manual and tune up tool for the bike he traded in and take them to the dealership for the new owner of his old bike. We did that after the craft fair.

They were having a Halloween party/trick or treat thing and there were many wonderful costumes. I haven’t seen so many women in push-up bras and fuck-me shoes since we were in Vegas last year.

When we got home I learned that we now own one of them fancy dandy insta-pot vortex air fryers. Hubs likes how our regular insta-pot works with the air fryer lid, but it is too small and he doesn’t like having to make two batches. It has a rotisserie option and a cylinder shaped cage that can be used to cook french fries and un-breaded things like that. We tried it but didn’t cook the potatoes long enough. We now have so many cooking toys that I don’t think we have more than a yard of counter space left and that isn’t really usable because it is all broken up.

It makes him happy so whatever. He was raised by almost hoarders and the only reason he isn’t a full blown hoarder is because I bitch and donate things. I also refuse to let anything but the butcher block live on the kitchen island, so at least I have work space there.

Anyone want an insta-pot air fryer lid? We don’t need it and I don’t want it taking up valuable cabinet space.

My first job was at a burger stand when I was a teenager. I loved the money, I hated how my hair always smelled even after using scented shampoo.

A UPS PSA: If you are shipping 70lbs. of family photos, painting, and certificates, please use more than 10 paper towels worth of paper to pad it. :grimacing: On the bright side, HT is carriing Mongolian Fire Oil again. :hot_pepper:

I’ll second it, even though I’m not good at slothing. My personal mascot is the rum guzzling monkey with a knife:

Glad you and the pups had a good time, sari

As a Wisconsinite, I say A plague on both their houses

There’s gotta be one helluva back story to that photo.

So, back when the world ended, I got sucked into being a Nextdoor mod. A couple of weeks ago there was a big blow up over moderation with folks all going crazy about freedom of speech and the lack thereof in that highly moderated forum.

It got handled but I spent a whole lot of time flagging nasty and hurtful comments for deletion.

Yesterday someone tried to start it again because her nasty and mean political comment was deleted.

I snapped and asked her that we PLEASE don’t start it again because it is well established that there is no right to freedom of speech in any website except the ones she personally owns AND that her comment wasn’t removed because we didn’t like her politics, it was because three people agreed that she was being nasty and mean. Her nasty comments to the reporter should be directed to Nextdoor because she was so mean and spiteful sounding that she was auto reported without a person being involved.

I really expected a bunch of first amendment pushback today. The only reply I got to my outburst was the person I was shouting at saying OK, I understand. Nobody else jumped in to defend her or to bitch at me because my language was so harsh and unforgiving and I got a whole bunch of likes from people I never expected to get them from.

This never happens, I think I’m going to spend the rest of the night basking in the glow of finally managing to get my fucking point across to a bunch of whiney karens.
