Let's make a Sixth tape - A list MMP

It’s 115 miles to my orifice.

It’s less than 115 steps to my office.
Even if I detour through the kitchen.

Fortunately, I only have to drive down to Seattle twice a week. The rest of the week it’s like 20 steps to my orifice.

The cats have had their rabies boosters. Goo is up to 10 ⅛ pounds. Tonka is down to 12 pounds.

I picked up a nail at the hardware store Saturday. I need to go get some Fix-A-Flat so I can make it to the tire place to have the nail taken out and the hole plugged.

Home from the dog park and it is HOT!!! outside.
There was a birthday party for a dog there but we left before it got started since I have to go to irk.
Echo is afraid of balloons.
I need to buy some.

Hello, Mumpers! Today I fought my way through a migraine. It’s hanging around the edges but is about gone. Joan Didion wrote an essay on getting migraines. There was a part when she talked about the bliss when a migraine was done, and that is so true.

I got a VM yesterday from my insurance company’s mail-order pharmacy program–CVS something-or-other. Aetna won’t cover my prednisone eye drops unless I get them this way, and they’re $160 a pop. So a few weeks ago, I submitted a refill because I was starting to get low. The VM was to tell me to call my eye doc’s office to tell them to respond to the faxes asking for authorization.

So this morning I called the eye clinic. My call got sent to triage, where I had to leave a VM. From prior experience, it takes a couple days to hear back. Since the eye doc bumped up the prednisone drops the other day to keep the iritis from causing rejection of the graft, I’m pretty much down to fumes.

Sari, the green-eyed hound sounds pretty appealing. I hope he finds a loving home.

flyboy, that’s one long commute, but that part of the state is so gorgeous, it’d be well worth it, especially only twice a week. Good luck on the fortress–I mean shed.

Moooom, sounds like things are moving along house-wise. I saw an ad for a house for sale yesterday. Houses go so fast here that I wondered why it hadn’t sold yet. Then I saw the nuclear orange exterior. Ohhhh.

Perhaps he has seem film of the Hindenberg.

Hahahahaha, flytrap, that cracked me up.

I called the eye clinic again, since it was almost 4 PM on a Friday, and I need my drops, dammit. I had to explain to two different people before I got a third who said a tech had sent the authorization after my earlier phone call. It’ll be several days at least before I receive them. Fingers remain crossed. Better fingers than eyes, I say.

My office is in the front seat of the Nissan Envy 200 Minivan out front

@Johnny_L.A, we’ve also been having Shed Adventures here at the House on Top of the Hill. Irish Storyteller decided several months ago that since the lockdown meant he and his wife Seasonal won’t be visiting their 498 relatives every weekend, he was finally going to get started on his long-desired Fix Up the Shed by the Garden project. Since March he’s replaced the floor (after I fell through it), replaced the roof (after he fell through it)*, fixed the windows, cleaned the windows, put up new drywall in a couple of places that needed it, plastered the inside walls, painted the inside walls, cleared away the jungle that was eating the shed**, and other fixing-up-type-things. It’s gone from a snake pit to a nice little shed to do stuff in.

Forgot my wallet when I went to Aldi and had to go back home in a toad-strangler. Got my wallet and went to Inglés because it was closer than Aldi. I need to remember to put a quarter back in my car since Aldi decided to start locking up the carts again.

@nellybly, I do scheduling (and many other things) for the primary care offices for Big Hospital System here and I have come to the conclusion that prior authorizations are the work of the devil. They exist only because of insurance companies which are, as we all know, worse than the devil.

@FairyChatMom, appendages crossed that Daughter finds a house soonest.

*Seasonal hasn’t fallen through anything, nor does she want to.
**Including pulling a century-old grapevine out of the trees and training it across several trellises. We’re going to have grapes soon!

@nelliebly, I hope you get your drops soon!

Another day at the warehouse. We got everything loaded before the drivers showed up.
Bonus day tomorrow.

Well without them, how do you make tiny baby mice.

sari, if I had $40k, it would be worth it, just for the 40% lower payments each month.

Evening all. Between shopping and eating and internetting and napping, I just never got back here to tell everyone how dull my day was. It’s almost 9pm and still in the 80’s and tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same, so another indoor day is likely. May mow the lawn Sunday, we’ll see.

Sari, hope the pup gets adopted soon and locally.

Cats, haven’t forgot my wallet in awhile, but I know the feeling.

nellie, hope the issues on the medication get straightened out. I’ve been pretty lucky in that I’m 67 and have no prescription medication, but it’s coming one of these days.

flyboy, glad you explained, I was wondering why you went to the hardware store for just one nail…

FCM, good luck in finding a medium-priced house these days. Hope they hit it lucky.

Ok, nothing much more to report, take care all.

We have subscribed to SF Jazz’s virtual performances. They are airing recorded jazz concerts every Friday at 5:00. Tonight was John Scofield; not my favorite artist, but most of these concerts are good. Last week was Alain Toussaint, the legendary New Orleans singer/writer/pianist. For $5 a month, it’s cheap entertainment.

Anyway, for tonight’s concert, we moved the laptop out to the porch, brought out some pita and hummus and a bottle of rosé, and kicked back in the rockers for a listen. Very relaxing and a bit of a mini-vacation from the news and all the stress.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. I won’t say it’s hot in the warehouse, but I like when I walk past an open door and feel the cool, 85 degree outside air. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

We got nothing from Fay, and if the long-range forecast is to believed, we don’t even have a 50-50 chance of precip till maybe the end of next week. And it’s hot, even early. Ditch mowage should be great fun.

I’ve made no plans for today, but that doesn’t equal sluggage. I’ll just make it up as I go along. One thing I do have to do is move the 3-shelf cart and its contents from the garage to the paint shed. I’m clearing a space for pellets - they should be available next month. And maybe I’ll finally get around to washing the cars.

For the moment, tho, everyone is asleep and I can have quiet time - a rarity here.

Happy Saturday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. JDD and Partner are comin’ over for some quality cee-mint pond time and for burgers ‘n fixin’s with fries. We did not achieve haircuts yestiddy. Just could not make ourselves go there. However, OYKW ventured out to get a watermelon from the produce stand, and I went to Tarjay to get myself a new float for the cee-mint pond. My old one was gettin’ ratty. Anywho, as much as I loathe Tarjay, the float I wanted was in stock, so I ordered online and went there for pickup. So, a miracle occurred. They actually did have it and it was ready for pickup when they said it would be. This has definitely not been my experience with Tarjay in the past. Thus I consider it a miracle. Or a fluke. Could go either way.

MOOOOOOM here’s hopin’ the young’uns find a house soon.

Nellie hope you can get your eyedrops soonest.

FlyBoy If I had built the shed, there would be a hunnert percent possibility it will fall down.

sari hope the cute puppeh finds a home soonest.

BooFae shall we cross appropriate/inappropriate appendages re the job interview?

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy is demandin’ sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

I’ve been up since 3 a.m. Currently on my second pot of coffee. I foresee nappage this afternoon.

Just did a 2-mile walk in 77°F and about 900% humidity! :astonished: :astonished: :astonished:

It was pleasant and cool when I started, but it didn’t last long, alas. However, I can feel virtuous for having done my exercise today.

For the second weekend in a row, there is an estate sale happening. This is one of our favorite weekend activities. These are the first ones since March.

Morning all. It’s 8:30am and already 82F, so another day of hanging around the house is likely. I plan to ow the lawn tomorrow, but there is a 50% chance of rain then, so I may go out and do it today.

All y’all take care.
