I’ll bring the water balloons.
The burglar alarm on some moron’s car has been sounding for half an hour. I have the satisfaction that the horn had begun to be less loud each time it sounds as the battery runs down.
Will there be blow, too? ![]()
How about Fuerteventura? It’s on the short list for race consideration; that is iffn I can figger out where it is. I mean I know where it is but I don’t know where it’s considered to be. It’s physically off the coast of Africa but is considered a part of Spain. I should know in the next day or two if it’s considered Africa, Europe, or neither for race location purposes. I’ve seen arguments for both I’ve been debating about creating a separate thread for just that question.
Sorry you’re now homeless. ![]()
I can bring the hot flame & oil; Sari, do you have a cauldron?
In other news, I didn’t not get any new shirts last weekend, & don’t plan on getting any this coming weekend, but this past weekend I got my eighth & ninth new long-sleeve t-shirts since Dec 31[sup]st[/sup]!
[ul]
[li]5 cotton & 4 tech shirts[/li][li]6 from events, 2 from RC, & one that was a gift.[/li][/ul]
The closet is bursting at the seams…& I may go buy one (but more likely a hat that I don’t need) because
E - A - G - L - E - S, EAGLES ! ! !
Where shall we hold it?
Knoebels of course. And I know people who could help us set it up. The shelters run from big to small and with the camping and cheap hotels around as well as some glitzy B&Bs and lodges, everyone could find something they enjoy.
What shall the menu include?
Bacon on a stick, alligator bites, perogies, ------------ hell, just everything they serve really. At least one meal has to be in the Alamo.
What entertainers are worthy of our attention?
The Electric Amish. Heck, if they can survive the Bean Blossom Bikerfest AND the Tipton Pork Festival, they should be ideal for a Dopefest.
Would gilt-edge coasters be too fussy?
On Phoenix or Twister probably but Kozmo’s Kurves would actually look good with a little gilt on the edges.
Money is no object, since we pretty much don’t have any, so go wild! No suggestion is too bizarre (or would that be considered a challenge?)
Can you tell we’re already counting down to opening day? 80 days and counting.
And you were always my favorite, Scarecrow. ![]()
You got a place down there named that? Now we GOTTA come visit!!! ![]()
Knoebels is VERY pet friendly.
I’ll bring the weed killer.
In case we spot any poison ivy.
Yeah ----- ivy. No other reason.
Hey Flytrap – wanna try some of my special bug-juice/Kool-aide?
![]()
Oh, I’ll eat all the desserts and sides, I just wanted to complain ![]()
Preferably not fake meat versions of meat stuff, they tend to taste like sad imitations. Other’n that, I’m easy; good curries, with lots of interesting side dishes and chutneys and stuff are a favourite.
Fud shopping completed, now I’m counting down the minutes until it’s an acceptable time to go to bed. If I go now, I’ll wake up at an even more stoopit o’clock than the stoopit o’clock that I actually have to get up.
I vote Canary Islands. Hubby’s family has an ancestor from there. It would be fun to visit. I don’t know which island, so I’ll count them all.
I’m off to the airport shortly. Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do while I’m gone (so you can do pretty much anything ;)).
Happy Monday!
Uh, wait until we’ve decided which island we’re going to before jumping on a plane!
Personally I’m jumping in the plane. Jumping on the plane would be nuts. ![]()
I’ve been listening to a lot of old Carlin routines lately
Burgers 'n fries have been supped. All is well.
Doggio sadly no, but I did have my first beer at the tender age of fourteen at Earl’s beer joint in large and in charge Franklin, Jawja. Alas Earl’s is no longer there.
Long, busy day. I’s tahred! I expect to crash early since I’ve been up since about 3:30.
Our Occasion shall include sufficient time for sleeps and naps, undisturbed by alarm clocks.
Mooooom, I’ve never been to a Waffle House…sober. ![]()
To answer the OP: While metal mouse’s party bus tour sounds like a lot of fun, right now, the cruise, if it’s somewhere warm, sounds better. The menu should include the usual cruis ship fare and one deck should have The Secret Commonwealth http://tscband.com/The_Secret_Commonwealth/Home.html for entertainment.
I would bring Nelson, of course, and the Mumper puppy peeps could have play dates in a special playground of their own every afternoon.
Worked, came home, sipping some whiskey.
And pubs!![]()
Gordie could use a vacation. ![]()
Butters, of course there’ll be booze.
Be honest ------- Georgia ordered it closed just to keep me north of Atlanta, didn’t they. ![]()
As to where, I’ll go if it’s warm, sunny and fun wet, so a cruise or any beautiful beach would suffice…supposed to have a up to a foot of snow on Wednesday, so the sooner we can finalize the plans and get on the plane, the better…
As to vittles, as Artie Donovan used to say, I’m a light eater, as soon as it gets light, I start eating, so variety is my suggestion…fresh seafood, fresh sushi/sashimi, filet mignon, awesome Carolina BBQ (sorry, family has a house on the OBX, so I’m partial)…breakfast choices should include biscuits and sausage gravy…
And, as others have pointed out, plenty o’ booze…
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Hockey after work. And it’s Gordie’s 12ish Birthday today.
Eastern or Western sauce?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 40 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (OK, dark) out with a predicted high of 75 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Rain is supposed to move in over night. We shall see. Today I shall take care of laundry and we shall sup upon chikin wings from the Pubic Sto’ (OYKW has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ so he will order and pick 'em up) and whatever side matter I decide upon. If’n it really does warm up like TWPTB say, I shall open da cave windows this afternoon. Fresh air!
Ruble Franklin and greater Heard County is (are?) a really weird place. The place gave us such characters as Mayhaley Lancaster and the major industry was and possibly still is moonshinin’.
Happy Birthday Gordie!
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, well, laundry awaits! Rah.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Here’s a bit of free advice from me to you. Don’t read a compelling mystery right before bed. Especially one that you can’t put down till you finish… I finished around 11:20. I was so wired after reading that it took nearly an hour for me to fall asleep. I woke at least twice after that before my alarm went off. All told, I *may *have had 4 hours of sleep.
I’S TAHRED!!!
Yeah, yeah, Happy Tuesday.
PS - our Occasion must include hammocks. Mandatory. NOW! <yawn>
Happy Toosday!
It’s 27 degrees outside and supposed to get up to 37.
There is still snow on the ground and truck.
The forecast has changed a bit, it was supposed to be warmer on Wednesday and Thorsday, now it’s predicted for the weekend.
It’s supposed to snow again on Wednesday,
Wimp that I am, I want to schedule the test and grocery run for the warmer days.
I woke up at 6 this morning, aand I actually slept through the night.
I changed my irk hours to start a little later since I’ve been having so much trouble sleeping at night and then getting up in the morning. Today is the day I get to sleep in until 8, so of course I woke up too early.
I agree that hammocks are mandatory.
And pubs, and catapults, and cannons, and yes Spidey, I do own a (very small) cauldron.
Nothing special on the agenda today. A little laundry, a lot of irk. I want to move some stuff around in the kitchen but I’ll need Sah-son’s help with that.
I need to get started on my taxes so I can fill out the FAFSA, which is due by March 1. We have to request transcripts to be sent as well.
I don’t want to even think about taxes yet. I’m not even sure I have everything I need yet. I just got the health insurance stuff yesterday.
I have to call my mother later to wish her a Happy Birthday.
What book did you read, Mom?
