Say what you like about Ed’s recent rule changes, but I firmly believe that this board has benefited greatly from having a certain vocal minority bugger off to other boards.
There they are now, rehashing the same tired old crap that was clogging up the Straight Dope, the same old arguments, petty squabbles, in-jokes, nitpicking and rules lawyering.

I agree with the sentiment, but Germany? That means he’s always getting attacked from two sides. I think he’s had to put up with enough of that. I think he should get France - the cooking’s better, plus there’s red wine.

I didn’t read the original post, but it seems to me that if a sock posts here to cause trouble, and the thread is disappeared, then it would be counterproductive to repost what the sock said in another thread - wasn’t that the point of making the thread go away, namely to discourage socks from posting?
P.S. I don’t know if tomndebb is right in saying that the sock posted inaccurate information, and I don’t really care. I wouldn’t waste any time in defending a sock’s honor. I would suggest that if people think they have accurate information to post they should post it and defend what they say is the truth.

The two charges that I remember that the sock made were right and I posted them. I’m not defending the sock’s “honor” (such as it is), I’m wondering why Tom is so bent on misrepresenting at least the part of the sock’s accusations that I remember to defend Liberal’s ‘honor’ and to insult the posters in this (and the other) thread; the “I do hope you guys realize that you have been played.” bit. From what I posted, we haven’t been. There may have been other accusations the sock made, but at least two of 'em were dead-on accurate.

I agree. I much prefer consistent shit than when it’s all runny. When it is nice and consistent you can just move it aside with a stick.
Once I realized that the former catsix was posting there, I clicked away immediately & tried to wipe my mind.
