Life is a Beach-An End of Summer MMP

Aha! That’s probably the root of piquete, too. Thank you, Mr Not-Nekkid-Yet.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

I’m in Pittsburgh ----- for us baseball season ended about the fifth game of the season. :smack:
And I would add a large Vikings here but with that aged cheesehead we have as QB ----- lets just say I would have left him on the tractor.

Doggio - a Cheesehead? Hmmmm - have to ponder that. On the good side though you did introduce me to that lady who starts to lose clothes when she drinks tequila.
Work being real work for a while. Will be passing in and out. Both here and in real life.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Rebo a hundred and fiddy bucks each? Thanks, I needed that!

Rosie I forgot to say yesterday, yay for new manager who knows stuff!

Anybody else relieved to know that BBBobbio did not post nekkid this mornin’? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nava what BBBobbio said. They’re picketers.

StickyBuns for a while, before he went to the AD unit at the Veteran’s Hospital, my next door neighbor would leave her husband on my back porch before she went to work cause she left earlier than I did and before the AD Caregivers center opened. I would take him there on my way to where I worked at the time. We had to do that because he took to wanderin’ around the ‘hood and it got unfun goin’ to look for him. There are woods at the end of the street behind us and I got really worried he’d wander into the woods. However, he never slept out there at night.

Mr. Bear has been brekkied. Cesar Sunrise Chicken with Cheddar Cheese Souffle accordin’ to the little package. YUM! Well, it must be YUM cause Mr. Bear scarfed it down the second I gave it to him. I have also determined that what I thought was a little monkey is really a bear with long arms and legs aka Grateful Dead dancin’ teddy bear. Anywho, we have had our breakfast and lap time so for now Mr. Bear is relatively happy, even though he did go over to the fence that borders his yard and sit there and whine a few minutes. I am tempted to go put him on his back porch. He stays on it durin’ the day while she’s at work. If he starts whinin’ at the fence again, I might just do that. It bein’ daylight out and all I left the back door to the yahd open for him. No bidness has been performed on the back porch. Gotta give him props for that!

Rebo, Aberdeen is beautiful and well worth a visit. I haven’t been there for a very long time but you might find this site useful for things to see and do. A lot will depend on how long you’re here and how much free time you have. Sadly 'im indoors is in Belgium and I am a couple of hundred miles away from Aberdeen!

However, they don’t really eat haggis for every meal and it’s not anywhere near as scary or unpleasant as it might sound. Also, if you have a very sweet tooth, look out for some genuine butter tablet. It’s kind of like soft fudge, made from sugar and condensed milk with some more sugar thrown in just for good measure.

I’ve moved to my new office today, got my PC working but the phone’s not working yet because nobody put in an order to telecoms to transfer the number to a new network point. The computer didn’t get moved with everything else either because nobody booked porters to do it, and nobody told me I had to disconnect it myself either. Honestly, it’s very true that you simply can’t get the staff.

I did lose half a pound at Fat Club last night though, that was a surprise more than anything else. Now the diet starts again.

Swampy, you are too good to that dog and he is just showing his appreciation. Appendages are crossed for his owner too. What luck to have such good friends and neighbours.

Mr. Bear is now on his back porch happy as well, a happy thing. I caught him attemptin’ to tunnel out from the back yahd. He had an appreciable hole dug, almost big enough for him to squeeze under. This he did in a space of ten minutes! So, you could say he gave me a reason not to want a doggy.

I’ll call my neighbor in a few and let her know that’s where he is. Heck, he stays there while she’s at work so it ain’t an awful thing. His little feet and legs are filthy. He’s a white poodle. He would have none of me attemptin’ to clean him off so I shall inform her of that also. The stinker! He’s got his bed, his baby and fresh water so life’s good for Mr. Bear, I reckon.

I’m building cheesecakes this week. One is for hubby’s union rep, who has walked us through all the short-term disability leave paperwork. His is NW cherry. Then, I have to make one for a group of friends we hang with at a local establishment. That one is caramel apple. I suppose I should make one for hubby too, but he’s supposed to be on a diet. I don’t have any low-fat, low-sugar receipes.
What kind should I make your here?

One using Neufchatel cheese and Splenda?

Hey, if you’re gonna have a cookie, have a damn cookie!

I like my no-bake lemon cheesecake recipe - just for you VBob.

2 8-oz pkgs Neufchatel, softened
1 jar Dickenson’s Lemon Curd (in the baking aisle)
1/2 cup Splenda
1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
Graham cracker crust

Mix all ingredients, and pour into pie shell. Refrigerate 4 hours.

I’m diabetic, dammit. Can’t have the cookies, either.

Well, I tell the doctor I don’t eat the cookies…

In any Mumpers aren’t voting yet for Bearflags kid or don’t know what I’m talking about, hit

and read post #470.

If I was better at these durn computers I would direct link it all but I suck so this is how I’m doing it. Also spread voting among your friends. Its neck and neck right now.

Nobody’s commented on swampy’s booty call?? Y’all are falling down on the job! It’s nice to be asked even if you aren’t interested.

Work’s been blah. I have a lot to do and have spent way too much time waiting in queue on the server. ARGH.

I went to the local knitting meetup group for the second time last night. That was fun. KT and I aren’t seeing much of each other these last couple weeks. He was flying or at meetings 4 nights last week. This week I had community choir on Monday, the knitting meetup group last night, he’s flying tonight and tomorrow, and he’s going out with airport friends on Friday. It’s good to have friends and interests, but I miss seeing my husband! We are taking an overnight trip to Duluth on Sunday/Monday so that should help.

I’m off for the afternoon. Going to the outlet mall. Retail therapy!

Ok, I’ll make your’s with splenda. Don’t tell hubby, he’ll think I’m leaving him.

The bestest cheesecake evah!

Try it. You’ll thank me. Except Bobbio.

Back later.

I have my very own cheesecake baker who has his own special recipe. If I’m real good and make with lots of sad puppy dawg eyes I get me one from time to time. Like this past weekend.

Neighbor is home from the hospital. All the tests look good accordin’ to the doctor but she’ll be havin’ some more plus a colonoscopy. Poor thing. Mr. Bear is, needless to say, just beside himself to have mommy back. He is clingin’ to her like white on rice.

ahem

Well, the van’s gone. It was kinda sad driving it in this morning, realizing it was the last time I’d drive it. Oh well - I’ll save $200/year on insurance anyway.

It’s been raining today and we’re supposed to have many storms overnight and all day tomorrow. We do need the rain. Just don’t need a major downpour. Nice steady showers are so much more effective.

**Missy **- did you see my question in the last MMP about the Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rally in DC on Oct 30? Are you going? I am, and my daughter plans to accompany me. I’d love to meet up with you if you come.

That’s all I’ve got for now. I’s tahred still. Apparently having houseguests for a week just kicked my butt.

Glad I own a canoe. Damned rain.

It is raining. Why is it the dog that runs away at the drop of a hat has to be dragged, kicking and screaming out side in the rain? More irk and rain tomorrow.

Regret not bringing the axe now, huh?
