Smitty, I’m sorry to hear about your FIL. You and your family are in my thoughts.
I’ve never had one either but I know basically what it is. She had no idea what it was at all.
And she asked me when the last frost of the winter is going to be. They may schedule weather events on her planet, but here we just have to muddle along and hope for the best.

Tonight is pizza and my official welcome home night. ACBG’s gonna welcome me in his own special way. YAY! I was real tired last night so we put off the welcoming until tonight. I need some welcoming.

I’m still missing my wisdom teeth. Has anyone seen them around? The pain is still very, very manageable. And apparently several times today I have to rinse my mouth out with warm saltwater.

Hmmm… I just happen to have a frozen apple PI(e) in the freezer as I post. Maybe a big slab of post welcoming PI(e) would be appropriate tonight. BTW we are having Roasted Rooster pizza tonight. It’s a takeout from a local place that makes good pizza. It’s good stuff. It’s kinda like a chicken caesar salad except it’s a pizza.
I can’t believe there’s no Googlie celebration of Pi Day or Albert Einstein’s birthday!

Zit popping is one of The Most Celebrated of Leisure Activities here. There are several threads with “TMI” in the title that attest to this attraction to zit-popping. I cannot empathize with it, personally (though I do confess a fondness for poking in my husband’s hair to have a good look at his scalp), but pimple-popping, yech.
I’m not terribly talented in limerick-writing, so I’ll just sit back and enjoy the contributions of the rest of you.

The nice laundromat has had a small fire (everything looks reasonably okay through the door but it’s still closed) so I had to go to the little grubby one near home. I am currently waiting for two of the eight dryers to be free so I can put the rest of my laundry in. It’s more expensive, they don’t provide laundry baskets, and there’s nowhere to sit. I hate it.
Whine.
There’s also no interesting shops to hang around in so I don’t have to be at the laundromat while my laundry gets finished. Which will take much longer because the machines are old and slow, and there aren’t enough of them.

It’s the story of a cynic who imbibes in every vice imaginable and in the end, reaps what he sows. He knows in his heart and admits what he is, but no one seems to believe him, until it’s too late. Johnny Depp plays the character well.
Did someone mention key lime pie? That’s one of my most favorite pies.
The big muckity-mucks up at HQ have once again managed to irk me no end. It’s too long and involved to go in to here, but suffice it to say I feel they must think this particular report is the ONLY thing done around here. This is most assuredly NOT the case. They have tacked on additional requirements, with no real guidance on what they’re REALLY looking for, and in the usual fashion, at the last moment. This was supposed to start NEXT month, after they put out an official tasker and guidance, but now my boss informs me they have changed their minds. Sigh…late nights again.
I’m gonna finish my salad and cruise the SDMB just a little more before putting my nose back to the grindstone.

smitty, that poor virtual dog is a mass of bruises. Leave off him. Seriously, here’s a real good place to vent certain misfortunes what must be born. I know how hard it is to watch vigorous people decline. As an aside, though, don’t be afraid to communicate your feelings with your wife. It might be helpful to the two of you to get through this.

Yeah, it sure seems that way at times. She’s getting moved out of the Sales department soon, thank Og. Where do you put a person with no common sense, a limited capacity to learn, and the attention span a five-year old would sneer at?
