Like a Virgin -- The Noob MMP

Just a fast one because my post average is tanking ---------- anyone at Dorney Park Thursday for the zombie invasion (I kid you not) look for me. I’ll be an Amish zombie.

janis, we got stuck in traffic trying to come back over the pass yesterday too.
Actually, we were about 40 miles back from the pass. Thankfully, we didn’t get for three hours like last April, but we still lost about an hour in the back-up.

I am definitely a little blue today, but I’ll get over it.

What have I done new his week? I’ve become a wuss.
When we were at Grandson’s wedding I had a cup of [del]molten lava[/del] coffee that was way too hot, so I dug around in the available creamers and found a hazelnut one, and it was GOOD! Yesterday I bought a big bottle of hazelnut creamer!

Now I need to get this Schnauzer off my lap and get busy!

I’ve never burned my boobs but I did bruise them up big time in a stumble going up onto a higher than expected sidewalk - yeah they hurt, but they essentially broke my fall. (Dolly Parton is jelly of me)

I don’t have boobs to burn, but I have caught Mr. Happy in my zipper.

[sup]11[/sup]

: faints :

I managed to walk out of the dentist’s office without a cavity this time, but it looks like I need a new retainer. I’ll call them when I can afford it.

New thing…new thing…new thing… I haven’t done anything new this week.

I have unpacked a bajillion boxes this weekend. We are totally moved to Oklahoma. No more Cali. We still waiting on the bank to see if the short sale will go through. So fingers crossed!

I have never burnt my boob but I imagine it hurts like a mofo!

I started guitar lessons yesterday, which is both scary and exciting.

I answered a request to help at a weekend event at church next month, and didn’t realize they thought I was my dad (same name) who always leads the music. It works out though. It ends up he can make that weekend, but he can’t be at any of the meetings and they need two people anyway so I’m going to help with music. They were very desperate for people, I can sing, I know all the music, and I have a guitar; I just don’t know how to play it. Plus I’ve always wanted to learn guitar, and now I have the motivation.

So I’ve set apart time everyday to kill my fingers (on my left hand anyway) and hopefully at the meeting Saturday I won’t embarrass myself.

Very nice 1st MMP janis [del]inc[/del] & co!

Let’s see…closest I can come is last week due to a wreck, I took a new route home. While I hope I don’t have to repeat this again soon, at least I learned a new way to get between points A & B.

Tonight, it was a Bri2k-burger on the Foreman grill, American & Swiss cheese melty on top and some Heinz horseradish sauce spread on the bottom of the swanky bakery bun.

This time, I remembered the pickle on the side.

Bri2k

Wow! New folks with new stuff!

I’m sure you’ll be the bestest Amish zombie evah ruble.

I’ve burned chikin boobs before. Does that count?

I have never caught Mr. Happy in my zipper. I count that as a biiiiiiiig positive.

Appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for the short sale mmmmmms.

Yay for no cavities spaz!

Bumba hazelnut creamer? I’d never thunk it of ya! I don’t like any creamer of anykind in my coffee.

Pearl see you done good! Even got us a new newbie. Howdy Gedd! Also howdy Lancia. Wow that’s two for ya Pearl!

Ok, gotta get beer and steaks all packed up to go. I need to get to the church house to get N.O.T. ready to bake and sausage ready to grill. It’s a tradition that we have sausages and mustard as an appetizer at men’s night. Spicy beerbrat mustard. MMMMMMMMMM…

Later Y’all!

Almost, I was steaming eggs in a thin teeshirt.

Well, it’s kinda good news/bad news, It doesn’t hurt at all… because it’s a thrid degree burn.
I’ll get yelled at by my doctor on Wednesday for waiting so long, but, I’ve worked in two burn ICUs so I do know the routine.

It will leave apretty big scar, though.

Owie owie owie! picu, don’t you know proper kitchen garb includes an apron, pearls, and high heels? Had you been wearing that, your apron would have controlled your chestal protrusions and the high heels would have held you above steamer level. Sheesh, woman! :stuck_out_tongue: Oh, and the pearls would just add class.

Home, exhausted. Daughter and I moved all of her science stuff, furniture, file cabinets, and assorted stuff from one end of the hall to the other. Thank goodness for handtrucks and furniture dollies. We’d still be there otherwise. And even more exhausted. And after we moved all her stuff, we went by the credit union and I paid off our car loan. We should get the title in a week or so, after the check clears and all that. So yay! Then home for bean soup, which was quite good.

I’m about to assume the knit position, till I can’t hold my eyes open. Welcome, n00bs! janis, I’m already in week 3 of retirement - the novelty has worn off…

Have a good evening all!

Agh, steam burns huuuuuurrrrrrrrt. I’ve burned my hands that way. :frowning:

The day you meet FCD at the door in this outfit will be the day we know you are in real retirement mode. Or at least do this just to freak him out. Either way… comedy gold!

Home from men’s night. Steak, baked N.O.T., sallit and bizkits. YUM! Plus cold beerverages. Everything is always better with cold beerverages.

picu owie! I mean, I don’t have boobies but still, OWIE!

And on that note, I do believe it’s beddy bye time.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Welcome, newbies. Don’t be surprised when people go off on unrelated tangents. That happens every week.

Owie, picu, that doesn’t sound like fun at all.

Burger sounds nummy, Brick. I’d be the one adding mushrooms.

My first time seeing two tandem bikes out riding in my neighborhood on the same evening was last night. It happened again tonight. At least one of the bikes was different (or at least had different people on it). Yes, I do live in a bikey community.

Our kids start school on Wednesday, so there are lots of people doing end-of-summer stuff, riding bikes in groups, kids hanging out (mostly on bikes too; earlier in the summer it was near cars) at the school parking lots chatting and being silly.

Lots of cicadas and crickets and such-like out tonight. 1 or 2 fireflies left. Only saw one bat, but I wasn’t looking very hard (it was just past the bats-are-everywhere-you-look time of day).

Someone brought peaches to work today (she lives near a bunch of farms and orchards). Yum.

Hardly slept last night, so I fell asleep soon after I got home. Woke up really groggy (which is why I waited to go out for a walk).

Had one of TJ’s green chile and cheese tamales for din-din. It was yummy.

Am considering what to do before falling asleep. Read, maybe. I’m close to being done with The Lightning Thief.

Hugs all.

GT

I was actually was glad to be at work today. :dubious:

Awww. thank you all – I’m blushing, really! Anyway, pretty quiet day. I’m reading a very interesting book, a joke book… Written by no less than Isaac Asimov. Funny, too.

Welcome Noobs! Goodnight all!

HA! There is no apron big enough to corral these girls! Maybe if I’d wore it sideways…
I no longer own a single high heel (or pair). I do have pearls, somewhere.

No one believes me when I say it doesn’t hurt. Hubby still thinks I need to go to urgent care for pain meds, because it hurts him to look at it.

… everybody is on vacation… well, no, a fourth person just showed up in my room. I was just chatting with one of the other coworkers about the possibility of organizing a LAN Party and saying “we were practicing our Computer Networks!” And I still don’t have access to one of our Support Systems - and the people who can fix the access are, you guessed it: on vacation!

Madrid is full of young people and of priests wearing “clergyman” (are those clothes called that in English too, all in black or dark grey and with the collar?).

Does “hiring the electrician who came to put in some lamps and fix a plug, so he’ll redo my flat’s electrical installation (from 1970 and done by complete amateurs who hadn’t seen a cable before) before the kitchen guys come in” count as something new? I hadn’t done it before! I’d called some people to get budgets, but didn’t like either of the ones who came because they were pushy. It’s my house, don’t tell me how I have to do something unless it’s marked by Code.
