Like a Virgin -- The Noob MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 66 Amurrkin out! BRRRRRR! Really, there’s a hint of cool in the air. Of course the predicted high will be 93. I hope it’s pleasant like yestiddy was. It was not quite as humid.

Nava around here we call it “wearin’ the collar.” Of course where I am is highly Southern Baptist so not so many collars are seen.

I need more caffiene STAT! Not awake yet. Also brekkie needs to be consumed and alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

It’s gloriously cool here - mid 60s! Yesterday’s rain was most welcome. I’ll have to close the house eventually, but for now, it’s great to be listening to the crickets.

**picu **- I don’t own high heels either, nor have I ever owned real pearls, as far as I know. I did once have a really long necklace of really fakey “pearls” - about 25 years ago. And any aprons I have around the house don’t have the bibs on them. So, swampy, no, it ain’t gonna happen. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nava, I misread your post at first - I thought it was a new fashion for teens to dress like priests! That would be too weird.

And just this morning I figured out that the fields of stuff that sorta looks like short corn plants is, in fact, millet. Living here in a farming community is an education, and this just adds to it. It’s funny, about 13 years ago, you’d see acres and acres of tobacco, but now that’s a rarity. There’s one Amish farm we pass that has a few acres of the weed, but mostly it’s corn, soybeans, and now millet.

Today’s plans include a trek to the grocery store. I used my last onion yesterday, plus my preferred brand of TP is on sale, so it’s time to stock up. And I probably need other stuff - I’ll inventory the pantry before I go.

Once that’s done, I expect I’ll slap some primer on some of the basement walls - the ones requiring minimal sanding, of course. No sense in working too hard.

That was a hell of a way to wake up today. I stumbled out of bed and over to my computer to check weather for today, and in my e-mail was a missive from my aunt. It seems that my cousin Scott has Stage 4 cancer, and it’s in his liver and lungs. I saw him 2 weeks ago at my birthday party, and he looked pretty good.

The real bummer is that his dad died at the ripe old age of 46 in 1983. Scott is 48 now.
 :frowning:

{{{BBBobbio}}} - how sad for your cousin and your family! :frowning:

It’s not Carnavales, it’s the Pope playing tourist :stuck_out_tongue:

Bobbio, :frowning:

{{{{{{{{{{{{Bobbio}}}}}}}}}}}}

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

{{{{{{BBBobbio}}}}}}:frowning:
FCM, thumbs up on the TP stocking.

Sorry about your cousin, Bobbio.

Guess I should get moving on the purtification…

Hugs all.

I thought I posted yesterday! I guess I forgot. I was pretty busy.

New stuff, huh? I don’t think I even made a new recipe last week. I’m boring.

I feel a little queasy this morning. Ick. And I have a headache.

Welcome n00bs!

I’m very sorry about your cousin,** Bobbio.** :frowning:

I’m up with Polar. He’s limping and I don’t know why. Of course, he won’t let me get a good look at his foot and leg, so I’ll wait until hubby is up so he can help me.

He noticed he was limping late last night. I don’t know what he could have done.

I think errands will be done today. I also have to contact the IRS. They were supposed to debit my account for my installment payment, and they didn’t do it. Argh, so irritating.

Guess I can’t avoid it any longer. Off to the basement. ugh.

<cue Volga Boatmen song>

(((((Bobbio)))) What awful news to wake up to. Hope the rest of your day improves, & will be saying a prayer for Scott.

{{{Bobbio}}}

Blurgh. My stomach is blurgy this morning. :frowning:

**taxi, **I hope your tummy stops hurting soon.

I was on hold with IRS from 7:07 until nearly 8:00. At any rate, the person I spoke to confirmed what I already knew; that the first debit was supposed to occur yesterday.

She also told me I was entitled to a one time “skip”. I pointed out this wasn’t my fault and she concurred. She put in a trouble ticket with my “service center” and told me I could go ahead and send in this month’s payment on my own, or I could just have them take money starting September 15th. Damn it! Why is this turning into such a pain in the ass?!

I’m hoping Polar’s pain pill kicks in shortly so I can take a good look at his hind leg and paw without him pulling away and trying to mouth my hand.

{{{BBBobbio}}} What terrible news! Cousin and family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope the icky tummy is better taxi.

Poor Polar! I hope he lets y’all get a look at his leg and paw Taters.

I am up to my behind in helpin’ folks apply for extra help with Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans. This is extra help payin’ for prescriptions and/or Part D premiums. The application is easy. It’s all the follow-up that’s the PITA. Paperirk everywhere! HELP!

Ok, I’m through with N.O.L. so back to the massive pile of paperirk that awaits.

Later Y’all!

Oh no sad news bobbio. I am so sorry to hear that.

Had a semi productive couple of work days. I am stealing myself for spreadsheet hell this afternoon so I think I am going to go grab some lunch and read a bit of a book before I get back to it.

Tomorrow the moving company is coming to pick up all the empty boxes we unpacked. Yay! Then Thursday’s excitement is getting my OK drivers license. Whoohoo! Given mr ems has been at the local DMV since 7.30 and has still not been seen yet I need to get there early before they open at 7AM methinks!

I am also scoping out Farmer’s markets to go browse this weekend as mr ems has to work. I have been a bit disappointed in the fresh veggie quality and selection in the local grocery stores since we got here so I must scope that out.

Right - Lunch!

Sorry about your cousin Bobbio, and sorry about your boobiage Picu.

We had a Thai Chicken delite pizza from Papa Murphy’s last night and at midnight I was in the bathroom thinking I was gonna die! At one point I seriously thought about calling for an ambulance to go get my stomach pumped, I was that sick. After an hour or so it subsided, however. This morning I feel a mite wrung out.

We eat Thai food all the time, but never on pizza. Never again.

Well, farmer’s market today, so I’d better get busy.

Fair warning before you open the spoiler box - I will not be providing brain bleach. You have been warned.I just finished putting some primer on some walls in the basement. My attire consisted of a purple and white tank top and white granny panties. Turns out all my grubby shorts were in the wash, literally, and after I got a little mud on the shorts I was wearing, I decided I couldn’t risk getting primer on them, so…I’ve done 2 loads of laundry - the second one is in the dryer. I mudded the seams in the stairwell - when they dry, I should be able to sand and prime. I primed the yellow walls and the blue door.

I also put my new sink where I want it installed on my counter. I don’t think it’s going to work the way I want, so I may be forced to plan B. Which is fine, I guess. I’ll discuss it with FCD when he gets home.

Poke tenderloin for supper - not sure how I’ll prepare it - off to AllRecipes.com to get some ideas, I think. And I need to empty the dishwasher, and make my sweetie a banoffee pie, 'cause I’m nice, dammit! I should probably run the vacuum also. And those clean clothes aren’t going to fold themselves. And I need to trim my fingernails before I hurt myself.

Retirement sucks.

:stuck_out_tongue:

FCM, I laughed aloud when I read your spoiler box. When are you going to wrap yourself in saran wrap and greet FCD at the door?

I’ve washed a load of laundry and have it in the dryer now. I’m also getting ready to try and figure out Polar’s issue. I tried about 45 minutes ago, but he still didn’t want me messing with him. He looks pretty flopped out now, though.

My daughter is coming down because another beta for Heroes 6 is supposed to be released today and she and my husband really enjoy the game.

Taters, the saran wrap bit reminds me of an old Phyllis Diller routine. She met her husband at the door dressed just in saran wrap. He said “What? Leftovers again??”

I am showered and fully clothed in non-sweaty, non-stinky garments. The laundry has all been folded - I do need to put it away. My fingernails have been trimmed. And I think I’m making thisfor supper. It sounds yummy, and easy.

My feet are killing me. I was wearing slippers while working in the basement, and they don’t offer a whole lot of support. I should probably put on a decent pair of shoes. Ya think?
