Like a Virgin -- The Noob MMP

Jeebus! What a nutcase that guy is!

How is your grandma, Spaz?

I screw words up all the time, **doggio. ** It provides great entertainment for my family.

I am officially resident in Oklahoma. I got me a new drivers license and the picture isn’t awful and the process wasn’t to painful so yay! Tried to get new plates and tags for the car but the lien holder on the CA registration is listed incorrectly so we have to get a copy of the lien release form when we refinanced. That’s OK though our credit union is super helpful so it won’t be an issue.

And I am working from home for the rest of the afternoon once I have me some lunch. And it is almost Friday! Whoooooohooooooooo!

I was actually born in Oklahoma.

Since I was an Army brat, I was born at a military hospital. For some stupid reason, my parents didn’t get the county issued birth certificate, so I have to write to Oklahoma to get my birth certificate. I can’t order it on-line which is pretty much a pain in the ass. Sometime I’ll remember to do that.

Were you born at Fort Sill, Taters? One of my brothers, who was in the Army, was stationed in OK for a while, but I can’t recall where!

Had a bit of a problem with the plumbing - darn low flush toilets! - but it seems to be working now. At any rate, I’ve just been hanging close to home the past couple of days - waiting on maintenance to come and look at the toilet (which has hopefully started working again on its own, as bizarre as that may sound). I’ve been catching up on some reading too, including one book from the library that a previous reader defaced, unfortunately. Nothing really awful, but whoever it was has left a running commentary on the horrible state of book publishing these days. Yes, there are extra spaces between words, and some words that should be capitalized aren’t but seriously, do you need to deface the book to let others know that?! How about an email to the publishers! Geeze louise. :frowning:

Can’t believe it’s Thursday, or that the end of the month is only a little less than two weeks away. Wow! Still I am enjoying retirement. The lady who is going to teach me pottery, btw, is 85 years old!!! I am looking forward to learning.

Thank you all for fighting my ignorance!

Is there a member named supper? Because I just has an N.O.S. sammich of the last of my Dietz & Watson Pastraaaami with Swiss cheese & mayo. Forgot the pickle again. Sleep deprivation was a good substitute for beer.

ems & tots, I have a co-worker from Oklahoma. After six months, I could tell my singing “when the wind goes sweeping down the plains” was wearing thin, so sometimes I just call her “23” (CMS-speak for OK, region 23).

Time to collapse now. We’re a day closer to the weekend.

Yup, I was born at Ft Sill, and lived in Lawton for almost two years. My mother’s cat was killed by a tarantula while we were stationed there.

From there, we went to Springfield, OR and stayed with my paternal grandparents while my Dad went to Vietnam. Once he returned from Vietnam, we went to Furth, Germany. From Germany, we came back to Washington state, and about three years after our return, my folks got divorced. I’ve lived here in Washington ever since.

Read the whole thing, I promise, y’all. 2nd day of new work is over, just finished a job interview at a local hospital that went amazingly, and I really hope I get it, it would be a great opportunity.

In the meantime, I’m going to go pass out for a bit. I do not run off of 5-6 hours (tops) of sleep per night.

And here’s an offer for donkeybear’s Famous Homebrew to go with the Vunderpickles. Not as catchy, I suppose.

Tomato sauce is currently simmering and it smells goooooood. We decided to make baked ziti with it. I’ll let you know how that turns out. Sadly, the sauce won’t be ready for about two more hours and then baking the ziti will take another 45 minutes or so and I’m already hongry.

This is the recipe we’re using, if you’re interested. There are enough romas in the bowl in the fridge* that we’ll be able to make another batch soon. Not counting the 900,000,000 still on the plants.

I’m here, I’m alive - you can all stop panicking! We managed to sleep in till nearly 8, then we went to breakfast, followed by a stop at Lowe’s for a few items. Once we got home, FCD started working on the plumbing in my studio and I started priming, then painting. We finally quit just before 4, both totally exhausted!

**Brick **- FYI - the gardener’s name was Chance, not Stanley, and people thought his name Chauncey Gardener. For some weird reason, I was thinking about that movie today. I hated it, but I do remember it.

tarra - I’m still not sure whether I feel retired or not. I do feel tired, that’s for sure! I’m looking forward to my next class - I’m hoping the instructor will teach me how to make big stuff. Those of you who have my artistical originals know they’re slightly larger than miniatures.

**Spaz **- I’m jealous! I wanted to grow Romas, but for some reason, I grabbed plants that grew mini-romas - they made good sauce, but a LOT of work for not much sauce. Next year, I’ll make sure I get the right 'maters.

Tomorrow, daughter and I are going to my mother’s for the day, so don’t panic when I’m not here bright and early. I know how you all worry so… :stuck_out_tongue:

Fired my real estate agent via fax a bit ago. Rental car is in hand for the whirlwind trip back to VunderLair 1 to sign the new agent, and give the property a good look over.

Tomorrow will be a long day.

Oy, I don’t envy the day your going to have tomorrow,** Bobbio.**

Just got back with my new specs. I’m definitely going to have to break down and get specs just for use with the computer.

On the other hand, it’s so nice to see clearly again. Even the colors seem brighter, if that’s even possible.

I’m loving the whole transitions thing too. No more squinting in the sunlight.

BBBobbio you shoulda done that in person and gone all Donald Trump on her.

Poke roast, field peas with snaps, smashed sweet N.O.T. and cornbread for dindin. YUM!!!

I’s tahrd. I have a feelin’ in the not too distant future I will be upon the bed.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Visited a vineyard today for continueing education class. Heard all about the difficulties of making a living growing grapes and lot of stuff to tell people wanting to buy plantable vineyard land. Then got a tour of the facility, followed by a free wne tasting. On an empty stomach. Came home fairly well buzzed. (I’m a cheap drunk).

BLT’s for dinner tonight, because we can! Iffen the bacon ever thaws out. I thought Wifey said she’d taken it out of the freezer. Couldn’t find it.
My life is so hard.

We have lots and lots of maters too, all green. I finally picked the first real red mater off one bush today. The Yellow Pear bush has so far yielded 3 yellow pears. The third bush is just sitting there getting bigger.

Thanks for the correction, Mooooom! That you remembered it is made even more impressive given the hard day’s work you put in on your studio. I hope you’ll share pics of your artistic creations with us. I bet they’ll be inspiring!

Spaz I like few things better than really good tomato sauce and it sounds like you’re on the way to making some that’ll be epic! The closest I get is doctoring up stuff that comes from a jar.

chaotic I hope you figure out a way to get more rest. Rest is important.

Speaking of which, it’s time to take a pill and grab some zzzzs. Tomorrow is another work from home day, so I can sleep in late until 4:45. Bliss.

Bri2k

::yawn:: does sleeping for almost 4 hours count as a nap?

Bobbio, is fax any better than text message? I’d die if I got fired via fax. That’s like breaking up with a telegram.

Brikkio, I’m workin’ on it! I have about 3 hours of downtime each night at Job B, I just need to find a quiet place to take advantage of that!

Well, it was a contract termination form that she e-mailed to us for signature…

Y’know, I don’t believe I’ve told y’all how much I HATE humidity.

Just got done with Dindin (Can you believe it?! ) We ate lunch really late though, and also went out to watch some Amateur comedy… Yours truly even got on the mic and told a few jokes. I invented a KICKASS cake too, if I do say so.** PapaBear** says he had a happy birthday, so I’m satisfied.

Recipe for cake is as follows.

Strawberry Scrumdiddilyumptious Cake

1 Yellow cake mix
1 box Strawberry jello
1/4 cup sugar
2 small tubs whipped cream
1 carton strawberries

Make cake according to package directions
Heat up Jello & sugar in water (in about 1-2 cups water) until boiling
slice strawberries and add to jello
keep jello hot until cake comes out of oven
pour hot jello & strawberries evenly over cake
frost cake with whipped cream
(what I did was frost cake with 1 tub whipped cream while the cake was still hot, it kinda melted and once the cake was chilled I used the other tub. you can do this or wait till cake is chilled to frost)
Garnish with more sliced strawberries on the top.
It was nom.
I tired. see y’all tomorrow!

Gigablurf. Leaving within 10 for the old Lair…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 97. Summer done returned!

Pearl cake sounds nummy!

Have a safe trip BBBobbio. Tell Fred we said hi!

Ok that’s all I got. Time for more caffiene and feedin’ of rumbly tummy. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. At least it’s Firday.

Happy Firday Y’all!
